happy to do it
“I grew up getting taught to hate Oklahoma State. I think my grandpa said they were subhuman.” – Darlington
https://twitter.com/johnehoover/status/668847668290949120
May implement that to our Thanksgivings !
Praise be, praise be
Man, I know Ty has taken some heat this year on how productive he has really been, and I’m not really getting into that, but I saw at least 3 pancake blocks from him against TCU, so let’s hope he continues to pound the ones he hates this week!!
I thought special “thoughts” were reserved for texsa. I always have something for them. For oswho, I never believed they rose to the level of a second thought, let alone special attention.
My dad and his brother and sister attended OU and all played in the band. His dad and his two brothers played at OU together back in 1913. He said that back in the day, the Oklahoma Aggies came out for one game wearing track spikes so that they could not only get better traction, but also rip a little flesh whenever the opportunity presented itself. Just a real classy group. /s
1913? They must be really old. Sorry for the smart a** remark. I’m setting here recovering from a full knee replacement 10 days ago and I’m bored to death and in some pain using oxy.
They’re all dead. The last of the three who played in the band died this year at age 91.
Hoover is subhuman. The rest are just idiots.

Parker said growing up his parents, both of whom are Ok State alums, always talked bad about OU.
https://twitter.com/john_shinn/status/668848417272016896
Considering that information kind of surprised he didn’t go there, but guess it was down to us and tOSU!
Was thinking Sunderland not Parker my bad!
I think even his dad said that Oklahoma did the best job recruiting him. Sounds like the right kind of family, letting the kid make the best decision for himself and not based on his parent’s bias.
Well I didn’t know all of that but, good to know that his parents where very much open to saying hey do whats best for you!
Having watched OU for a long time now, one of the things that has most impressed me about the Stoops era is how much more well spoken and articulate our players are under Stoops.
I think we recruit the right kids and put them in the right type of environment. Stoops preaches for things to be done the right way or you don’t play. 95% of the players really mature and grow into outstanding young men because of it. When your priorities are right, it shows.
On top of that, it seems that our guys genuinely like each other. Personalities really blend well…and they seem to be team-first selfless guys. Can’t say the same for the boys in Columbus…
I had a friend who worked at Goldie’s back in the late 1990s/early 2000s. She said that she was surprised at how polite the football players were when Stoops took over. They suddenly started saying please and thank you and ma’am.
I do feel Stoops gets the right kids and turns them into young men. Mean sure there has been some issues with a few here and there but, what program doesn’t? I like that he protects his players, I know some have been upset that he won’t allow Mixon to be interviewed but, it’s the right thing to do cause you know people will ask him about what happen last year instead of saying hey look at this year. I will always appreciate Mixon, I remember going to an OU game and just being a fan I yelled out Bob as they where coming out of the tunnel as I was standing above them as they came out he looked up and gave me a nod, seems small but, as a fan and being a young and someone who inspires to coach I can’t tell you how that moment made me feel. He is well spoken and his players seem to follow suite. I am glad we have him over Saban, Meyer, Miles, well you name them!
Especially compared to the thugs at OSU.
How awesome would it be to go out and beat up the cowboys, and win the Heisman with a 6 TD game for baker?
here comes Bob
Thanks J.
Just beat the Pokes….just beat the Pokes…just beat the Pokes..Just…beat…the…Pokes. I think Will Johnson, Ahmed Thomas and Steven Parker will have to play big…very big…
Stoops says the offense just got out of rhythm in the second half.
Thats an understatement.

https://twitter.com/Joe_Buettner/status/668852178291937280
Good news on Baker.
Stoops says to this point, Mayfield has passed every test he needed to have passed. If things continue as they’ve gone thus far, then he will play. If he has a setback or something changes, he will not.

So there you have it. I think they should put Bakers head in whatever the equivalent of a walking boot is for a head.
A helmet?
patent that idea now
lol
I say to be on the safe side, you put him in one of those giant inflatable balls they use to play bubble soccer.
Or one of those glass tubes filled with an unknown liquid that aliens put people in for suspended animation.
So Jordan. At this point would you say that its 100% that Baker will play against OSU?
(sorrycouldntresist)
Seemed pretty obvious that was the case with what few facts we know/knew.
Have his OL walk in front of him everywhere he goes. Find the most expendable freshmen and make him test Baker’s food.
This is the time Orlando Brown can have a personal foul on anybody if they get to close to Baker.
Orlando Brown is an honor student. He needs anger management, and treatment for ADS.
Is he making commercials?
OU’s trainer is evidently going to speak after Stoops re: Mayfield’s situation.
Is it possible our defensive players bite on double moves because our WRs, outside of Shep, don’t appear to have the ability to perform one? Maybe they aren’t used to seeing them.
https://twitter.com/Joe_Buettner/status/668852963583115266
I watched every play with Knight saturday. His passes were horrible.
Oh like the rope he threw to Shep??? Youre an idiot.
Settle down.
Comin’ in hot!
*You’re
Obviously you nothing about the game. So leave the commenting to the adults. Why aren’t you a Kansas fan anyway?
He did have one great play. The one where he made that incredible handoff to Perine!
He had a nice run too.
We get it. No need to beat this dead horse any further.
Stoops says there was no discussion of putting Cody Thomas in the game Saturday night
Goo lord why not? Intersting that that possibility wasn’t even discussed as bad as Trevor was playing.
Sounds like CT hasn’t had any reps behind the first 2 QBs.
Stoops says Samaje Perine & Joe Mixon are expected to be fine for Bedlam, referred to both has having “light sprains.”

“I’m not going to talk about ‘what if’.” – Stoops
https://twitter.com/dennisdoddcbs/status/668854309950324736
These questions to Stoops about thinking ahead or putting his legacy in perspective, or whatever have literally never been answered. You know what he’s going to say. ‘I’m just thinking about the next game.’
Stop asking these, you’re just wasting everyone’s time.
I’d prefer to steer Stoops clear of thoughts about him not being HC at Oklahoma.
Favorite resturant in Norman perhaps? Has to be Victorias for a date night.
Right on cue!
you complain about this every week
If they ask this same dumb style of question every week, then you can blame the guys asking it.
I suppose so. Not being sarcastic on this – but why don’t you try to join the media? Sounds like you always have more unique angles with everything.
ha, I definitely don’t think that’s the case. And IMO most of those guys are in a profession dying a slow death. Like you, not trying to be sarcastic, but why would that be something a person would want to join?
Free snacks. 🙂
yeah, that is kind of what I figured where you stood on that. could be fun. but seems like the organization controls the narratives rather than the reporter sometimes.
Unless you’re ESPN of course. How are you btw Kyle? Haven’t trolled you or your site in a week. How’s Carson? Did he kiss you on your way out this morning?
Seems to be the case. Newspapers are shrinking and so is circulation.
Slow? it’s racing off the cliff. LOL
But don’t you also sometimes say you wish they’d ask the hard questions, which would also go unanswered?
I don’t think the legacy question is a “hard” one. The guy is right in the middle of a championship run with many years left to go. Why would he want to talk about legacy when it’s still being created?
Stoops says he is not surprised w/ the success Ok State has found using two QBs.
Much like the success OU found using two QBs Sat nite……..wait…
Well, they did get the W, and we did have some success with Bell.
Yep, worked some with Bell’s package. OSU is doing the same thing, pretty much.
this is top notch reporting 🙂

So I might be missing it, but updates on Baker? Lots of junk questions today
Has checked out well so far. Expected to do some physical tests today and maybe some team stuff. If any setbacks, he won’t play, otherwise he will continue to be evaluated.
Thanks bud!
Update is basically so far so good for him being able to go.
Checked out well so far. Barring a setback, s/b good to go for Saturday.
also took himself out of the conversation and said that it’s between the doctors and Mosman would come in and answer any questions about the whole process.
Careful, when you criticize the local media ppl here will come after you 🙂
Al and Deano are twinkies!!
Deano wears flower patterns?
They are Twinkie twinkies today. It’s freaking hilarious.
If I had to attend weekly pressers I would do multiple lines of coke before. I’m falling asleep and dying at the same time listening to these dumb questions.
lol
I think the only important questions have already been asked…how is Baker, Perine and Joe? Call it a wrap and move along.
https://twitter.com/ClarkeSachs/status/668856883944529920
This is the one I’m looking forward to. I love how angry Brown gets and I can see Ogbah testing his temperament.
As long as he doesn’t get any penalties.
or ejected for kicking/throatpunching/bodyslamming someone
I was under the impression that Ogbah goes up against Samia’s side of the line more.
Does Ogbah move around? I thought he lined up on the left side of the dline, which would put him up against Samia, no?
This will tell you the point we’ve reached in today’s presser. Guy there covering it, stopped to write a quick story instead.
https://twitter.com/EricBaileyTW/status/668856777266479104
Well, if he’s doing that, then he’s not asking a stupid question.
haha, true!
I think much the time they write the story before they get there, and then try to get quotes to support their story. This accounts for some of the randomness and disconnect nature of the questions.
Now we’re asking Bob about the weather forecast for Saturday, b/c if there’s anyone who has a spotless track record it’s weather men & women a week in advance.
https://twitter.com/BradyVardeman/status/668857482056474625
eww, what does he mean by “demonstrated”?
Sheep are involved.
It IS Stillwater. They are for “scientific” research, LOL.
My guess would be hand jesters. I don’t think Bob punished Striker or Dimon for their interactions with the crowds. He sees whats going on
gestures*
I’m talking about the little clowns you put on your finger tips
Well, then, never mind. 😉
Look for A LOT of articles this week about how Ok State has now made this a competitive rivalry.
Carey looks odiously fat today.
Wherever he is.
He was at the snack table.
Breakfast buffet ran out of gravy. He’s waiting on a new batch. Nothing is more important to Carey than fresh gravy.
Hey now! That’s a serious thing… Fresh gravy is!
Yeah, don’t knock gravy or bacon – just isn’t right to do so.
that’s a wrap w/ Bob. here comes the OU trainer to answer ?s about Mayfield
https://twitter.com/BeaversBend/status/668858037830942720

Hoover basically running this thing now w/ the OU trainer
Looking for an expose.
https://twitter.com/ryaber/status/668858962935091201
So, did they pull him from the game because of the headache, alleged throwing up or just precaution?
I do agree with them pulling him, I believe it was the right call. I’m just curious what the deciding factor was.
It’s my understanding it was b/c he mentioned having a headache.
I see, makes sense. Sometimes you have to protect the player from himself.
https://twitter.com/ryaber/status/668859118656995328
How does Bob say nothing about Dean & Al’s matching kiddie sweaters?
He did shortly before things started.
Sorry I missed that. Is there a reason for this? I want to know. There is no way that two grown men randomly wore the same exact yellow sweater and then sat right next to each other.
Considering one of them is Eschbach, I’m fairly confident I don’t want to know the reasons 🙂
This story is more important than Baker’s concussion, IMO.
I’m sure Hale will have a pay teaser about it shortly.
I may need your credit card info soon.
With a 2 sentence uh paragraph?
I haven’t seen your usual post regarding a certain person’t girth.
You’re not looking hard enough. 😉
If you say so. LOL!
They wanted to be minions?
He did as he approached the mic, heard him say something about shopping at the same store. Didn’t know what he meant at the time.
https://twitter.com/BradyVardeman/status/668859495691526144
Geez, this is boring.
Reminds me of being on jury duty. 🙂
I’ll take boring at this point. Boring is good news.
Right!
any chance we can get those recruit updates now, lol.
K told me he’d have an OP later today.
thanks Jordan

Personally, I would’ve ran out of questions after “Can Baker play?”
https://twitter.com/john_shinn/status/668861736217251840
Bakers at the mic.
Quick some one ask him to say a series of tongue twisters, so we can talk about how he has trouble speaking.
maybe he’s just been drinking
Baker says he would run through a brick wall for his team, also that he has had a concussion before.
https://twitter.com/OU_Football/status/668862966616498176
I really think they should stiffen the targeting rule. I mean, its replayed already to make sure of intent, so if the player gets ejected, maybe he should have to sit the next full game too? I don’t know, it just seems that some of these fouls are so blatant, that just being tossed for rest of that game isn’t enough of a deterrent, especially when there could be a need to “take out a particular player” in the current game. Another idea, could always fine the HC too. Start taking money away from them, then maybe they teach their players better tackling habits, and would be less likely to fall into a trap of possibly “taking a player out” on purpose.
I know it would be hard if this happened to one of our own players, but this spearing of players has to stop.
I don’t know about automatically having to miss the next game, but I think a good way to go about it would be to have the season’s work of a player ejected for targeting reviewed, and if a pattern of dangerous behavior is found, then additional suspension time may be added.
Maybe change the rule to the targeter sit out as long as the player they targeted has to miss ?
Nah, if the guy is a game time decision, then the coaches won’t know who can and can’t play.
That was about as intentional as they come. I really could not believe my eyes when they showed the replay.
Award points to the other team if it is deliberate, or maybe if deliberate and results in injury. That way you have all of the peer pressure from your own teammates not to commit dirty fouls and it costs more then a lousy first down.
I think the offender should have to miss the entire next game, in addiiton to the game in which the penalty occured.

I love Baker! One tough & salty hombre!

You could tell when he came out that he had possibly cried because he didn’t want to be sat out. The kid has a lot of heart and it shows on every play.
I was actually wondering that exact same thing. At first I thought his eyes just looked like that because of a bad concussion, but as the half went on and his jumping around made it clear that any concussion he had wasn’t too serious, I wondered back to the eyes.
I’d rather he miss one half of a game, than potentially a lot more if TCU aggravated the injury even further.
https://twitter.com/EricBaileyTW/status/668864457305534464
LT? Baker have a Land Thieves hat?
That’s what I was wondering.
https://twitter.com/EricBaileyTW/status/668865331515928576
Nice! I was just joshing about the land thieves.. But I was wondering what it meant! Its a cool hat.
How does he have a concussion if he’s passed all of the tests.
He suffered a concussion on Saturday night and has since passed the tests.
They base it on observation and answers to questions. It’s a medical diagnosis based on the doctors best judgment at the time. There is no objective test of course, as they have made clear. Could he have had a headache due to dehydration or some other cause? Sure. But their best guess is concussion.
I could see Baker being a coach someday, natural in front of the media also.
https://twitter.com/EricBaileyTW/status/668865688400859137
So did Clemson Baker. OUs likely opponent if they make the Playoff
Actually, I’m kinda of the opinion if OU does get in the committee might find a way to manipulate them into No. 3 to set up a game w/ Bama.
That’s kind of how I see it playing out as well.
Saban would be so mad, ha ha.
Doesn’t matter… OU will beat ’em.
I guess the committee wants to see Alabama take a seat after the first round again.
An OU Bama championship game would be epic. You could throw in the Sugar bowl, Sec crap, and likely the heisman and runner up going head to head
I would love that, they’d being playing in Dallas too, correct?
I’m thinking the exact same thing.
I’m hoping, if we get in, that we get matched with Clemson (for payback) in Miami (so I get a 3 hour drive to the game).
Then, of course, my projection you have heard from me ALL SEASON LONG would come true…that OU would play Bama in their bowl game this year. (I didn’t predict the Natty game, just that this year’s bowl will be an OU/Bama rematch.)
https://twitter.com/EricBaileyTW/status/668865993549172736

Mayfield looked ready to me…suit him up
Baker didn’t seem near as anxious as Bob to get out of the media room. 🙂
“Baker, Baker! Have you ever had headache before?”
that’s a wrap
Thanks Jordan!
As always, I really appreciate your work on this!
