Many of you took notice of two tweets following the Red River Shootout…

– The first was from Sooners 2020 DL target Alec Bryant on Monday…

The second was from Sooners 2020 DL target Princely Umanmielen on Tuesday…

– Obviously, the “eyes” hold significance for Sooner fans

– I spoke with Bryant last night and asked him about the tweets and if they really meant anything for OU fans.

– Bryant said “We going to the same school for sure lol! We have been going on visits together and built a good relationship”.

– Just something to keep in the back of your minds…

 

 

Reports of Jalen Redmond Fully Cleared | Confirmed

We were aware of the report from 247 sports that Jalen Redmond is, or will soon be, cleared to fully participate.

Our last update, prior to this week, on him included information that he was suiting up and practicing in non-contact drills and that can be found here.

After seeing the reports from 247, we spoke to James Hale and he did some digging and confirmed the report that Redmond is in fact cleared to fully participate.

Will be interesting to see how, if, and when, the Sooners would be able to get him onto the field.

Great news for the Sooners and the young man for sure!

 

 

Defensive Coaching Search | Rumor/Speculation | Couple Names To Know
– Super K, Charlie, & Contributor James Hale

*** Just got off the phone with a source on the Alabama side of things. I’m driving from LA to Fresno. Stopped at a gas station to drop a quick note on something of interest to you all.

I’ll file this note away under rumor/speculation. Although I’ll admit, I’ve now heard it from a few people.

According to the person I spoke with, the word around Alabama is that Alabama co-DC and ILB coach, Pete Golding, “is the number one target for Lincoln Riley”.

It’s really early but worth noting. And I’ll add again, I’d file this away as a bit stronger than a rumor at this point but nothing reportable. – Super K

 

*** James Hale checked in with a few sources regarding the DC position as well.

He came away with two early names that were mentioned that could be of interest to OU.

– One corroborates what Super K has said and that is Pete Golding, CO-DC at Alabama. Per James’ sources, it sounds like some of what K mentioned intrigues the Sooners in regards to the fact that he is young and innovative.

– The other name sources mentioned to James was Washington Co-DC and defensive back coach, Jimmy Lake.

Super K happens to have a source connected to Lake, and last year, when there was some thought that there could potentially be a change at DC at OU, K’s source mentioned that he would be interested in the position. Super K is currently trying to connect with that same source to see what he can find out.

Quick-Hitters | Milton, McMillan, Perkins
– Super K

*** I stopped by to watch 2020 5-star running back, Kendall Milton at Buchanan HS (Fresno, CA).

I’ll have a full write up on Milton but wanted to note that he says he probably won’t be able to make it out for a game during the season so he’s hoping to make it Oklahoma’s bowl game and then visit in the spring.

He let me know that coach Boulware will be at his game on Friday night.

***Also stopped by to see Sooners 2020 WR target, Jalen McMillan at San Joaquin Memorial (Fresno).

Again, I’ll have a full write-up on McMillan (I know I still owe you all one on Jordan Battle).

But McMillan told me point blank that his top two are Oregon and Oklahoma.

He also let me know that coach Dennis Simmons will be in Fresno this weekend to see Jalen. McMillan has emerged as the Sooners top wide receiver target and for good reason. He’s excellent!

***Also, wanted to know that Sooners LB commit, Jonathan Perkins tells me that coach Tim Kish will be out in California to see Perkins.
