A certain other recruit has let me know that he plans on announcing today. I will note that the player is not a 2018 prospect. Stay tuned for that…

Sunday: As you all know by now, 2018 WR, Treveon Johnson (Giddings, TX) is set to announce his decision on Sunday. And the Sooners are looking good here. Johnson made a return trip up to OU earlier this week. If you haven’t had the privilege of seeing Johnson’s film, it’s definitely worth a look. It’s no coincidence that TCU, OU, and Texas Tech, three programs that do a great job of wide receiver evaluation have recruited Johnson heavily.

Monday: On Monday, 2018 WR, Jaylon Robinson (Ft. Worth, TX) is expecting to announce his decision on Monday. Like Johnson, Robinson recently visited. And like Johnson, Robinson has fantastic film.

Kundarrius Taylor: Oklahoma has been recruiting 2018 Memphis (TN) wide receiver, Kundarrius Taylor for quite some time. Taylor has already visited Oklahoma on multiple occasions and is expected to be back in Norman on July 29th.

Taylor recently released a top list which included the Sooners along with Tennessee, Mississippi State, UCLA, Missouri, Auburn. Taylor is long, athletic wide receiver with strong hands to go with amazing body control.

Last night Taylor put out a tweet saying…

Of course, that intrigued me, so I contacted Taylor to find out more.

Taylor informed me that he still intends on announcing on his Senior Night later on during his season. Taylor did, however, say that he might be leaning towards silently committing to a school so that he doesn’t lose his spot.

The interesting thing to all of this is that Oklahoma has four spots, for sure, that they want to use at the wide receiver position. With OU possibly picking up both Johnson and Robinson in the next few days and with Bryson Jackson, Tommy Bush and Jaqalyn Crawford all having the Sooners at or near the top of their list, my suspicion is that Taylor, too, has the Sooners at or near the top of his list and Sooners have let him know that the spots will be gone soon.

NOTE: Spoke to a source who said that even if Oklahoma was to fill all four spots, the staff would try and find an open spot for Jaylen Waddle, no matter what. – (Brandon)

– UPDATE (10:18 am): We are told that 2018 ATH, Vernon Jackson (Boling, TX) is on campus right now. Sooner Scoop first reported plans for Jackson to visit.

Jackson visited back in the winter and included the Sooners in his list of top schools. At that time, Jackson let us know that the Sooners were recruiting him a running back. However, now that the Sooners have their two running backs in place we are told they are currently recruiting him as a linebacker. – (Brandon)

– UPDATE (10:30 am): Just a revision to the note on Vernon Jackson, we are told he isn’t exclusively being recruited as a linebacker. A source tells TFB that he could be used as an H-back as well.
