Delarrin Turner-Yell: Last month, for the ChampU BBQ, the Sooners hosted 2018 Baylor DB commit, Delarrin Turner-Yell (Hempstead, TX). Yell has held an offer from OU since late winter.

Following the visit Yell told us that he planned to take official visits to both OU and Baylor before deciding. However, a source on the OU side let us know that Yell had given the staff indication that he may be ready to make a move sooner than that.

Last night Yell announced his decommitment from Baylor.

This morning coach Lincoln Riley tweeted out…

We immediately reached out to sources on the OU side and were told that the staff does know that Yell is ready to commit to OU but, “he hasn’t said exactly when”.

So, we are not certain just yet if Riley’s Cookie Monster eyes are meant for Yell but it would seem only a matter of time before Yell announces for the Sooners. – (Super K)

Maea Teuhema: As we reported last week, former LSU OL, Maea Teuhema let us know that his decision on where to transfer was down to Oklahoma and TCU.

We checked with sources on the TCU side and we are told that they have not been given any indication about Teuhema’s plans just yet.

Speaking to sources on the OU side we are told the Sooners feel very good about where they stand with Teuhema. – (Brandon)

Team Note | Kennedy Brooks: A bit of not so good news on the injury front for Sooners freshman running back, Kennedy Brooks.

We are told that Brooks has or is expected to undergo surgery for a torn labrum. Brooks will red shirt this year.

Obviously won’t affect the Sooners running back plans as Anderson, Abdul, Sermon and Sutton were already established as the four backs by committee that OU will lean on. We wish Brooks a speedy recovery. – (Brandon)

Josh Proctor: In case you didn’t see this, Josh Proctor can move…

If Yell commits, the Sooners would technically be full at the DB position. We are checking to find out what a commitment from Yell would mean for the Sooners pursuit of Proctor but one would guess the staff would still like to have him. – (Super K)

UPDATED: Friday 9:40 AM

It would appear that Kennedy Brooks has already undergone his surgery.

Some of you were curious as to what type of labrum tear he had: shoulder would seem to be the answer. Speaking as someone who has had that exact surgery, he’ll be in a sling between 4-6 weeks depending on the severity of the tear with 2-3 months physical therapy. All the best wishes to him for a speedy recovery. – (Ryan)
