2018 Quarterback Prospects: As we previously mentioned, the Sooners will host 2018 QB prospect, Tanner McKee (Corona, CA) this Friday. Sooners also extended an offer to 2018 QB, Adrian Martinez (Fresno, CA).

Tanner McKee: Tanner is a 2018 graduate however he will not enroll in school until 2020. McKee plans to spend the two years after college on a mission trip. McKee does not yet hold an OU offer and I’m not sure whether one will happen. With McKee not entering a program till 2020 one would have to wonder if the Sooners would want to risk scaring off a future QB recruit.

Adrian Martinez: Martinez appears to be Lincoln Riley’s choice for this 2018 class. Riley visited Martinez this week and promptly extended an offer. I asked Martinez if he will visit OU and he said, “I am not sure yet but I’m definitely considering it”. Martinez is connected to current Sooner LB, Caleb Kelley and he says Kelley has already been in his ear. If it’s feasible I’d bet on a visit happening fairly soon. – (Super K)

Ronnie Perkins: As we continue our discussion of defensive linemen targets, we turn our attention to 2018 DE, Ronnie Perkins (St. Louis, MO).

Perkins confirmed that plans are still in the works for him to visit Oklahoma this summer but no date has been set yet. Some feel that the Sooners lead for Perkins. In talking to him it’s clear there is strong interest there and he’s even, at one point, said his connection to the OU staff is tighter than other programs. However, for those that don’t know, Perkins older brother plays at Missouri so I’m personally a little hesitant about being too optimistic about OU’s chances.

We should know more after he makes the trip down to Norman this summer. – (Super K)

Joshua Moore: A few weeks back I saw 2018 WR Joshua Moore here in the Houston area and spoke with him face to face. At one time he and the Sooners seemed to have a great relationship. But when I spoke to him on his recent trip to Houston he let me know that the communication between him and OU had fallen off quite a bit.

It sounds like things have gotten back on track. Moore recently released his list of top schools which included: TAMU, Nebraska, OU, Texas, FSU, LSU and Alabama. I’m told that the Sooners are recruiting Moore heavily once again. I spoke with someone close to Moore who told me that Joshua really wants to take a trip back up to Norman this summer. Right now the schools to watch for Moore are Nebraska, Texas and TAMU but I know that Joshua really likes the OU offense that’s helping Oklahoma stay right there in that top group. – (Super K)
