Open Post | Wednesday, June 15th

Team Note | Freshmen: Most of the in-coming freshmen have been cleared to work out and participate in player-led 7 on 7. I am told that the team is now doing player-led 7 on 7 sessions twice per week (Monday and Wednesday).

This past Monday was the first day that a number of freshmen were cleared to participate in 7 on 7 and I’ve already heard a couple names of freshmen who turned some heads right away.

Mykel Jones – The first name mentioned was wide receiver and Louisiana native, Mykel Jones. “He is smooth in and out of cuts” one source mentioned. Another said, “he looks like he belongs.” With John Humphrey transferring and Michiah Quick transitioning over to the defensive side, Jones being able to step up and at least provide quality depth at the inside receiver position will be welcomed news for the Sooners.

Abdul Adams – The second name mentioned was Abdul Adams. Source said, “he’s like Roy Finch…quick twitch and light on his feet”. If you’ve seen Abdul Adams film, that assessment won’t surprise you. I was very impressed with Tulsa native and Alabama signee, Joshua Jacobs and believed, on film, he was easily one of top five backs in the country. But if there was a guy who has similar twitch and acceleration it was Abdul Adams. Deciding between those two for me was splitting hairs.

Adams could end up being a guy who only needs a few carries but comes in after Samaje and Joe soften a defense up and really gashes a defense with his next level explosiveness. – (Super K)

Team Note | Johncarlo Valentin: A freshman who has not made it to Norman yet is highly touted offensive lineman, Johncarlo Valentin (Philadelphia, PA). I spoke with a source on what seems to be the hold up and was told, “Valentin’s graduation is on the 17th. He should be on campus next week”.

I did call over to Valentin’s school and was told that senior graduation is indeed this Friday (the 17th). So it sounds like all is well. – (Super K)

Team Note | Michiah Quick: As you all know, Michiah Quick has moved over to the defensive side of the ball. I’m told he is taking reps at cornerback in 7 on 7. I asked a source how he looked on Monday and was told, “he looked good. He actually had a PBU and an interception. It was against some of the younger guys and walk-ons but still he looked good”.

I’m told Quick is still in the process of learning the play book and the real test for him will be in fall camp when calls are coming in fast and he has to be sure he is set correctly in his alignment and assignment. Also, he will have to pick up the various techniques. But early on it sounds like Quick has the natural instincts for the position which should come as no surprise. For a while now many of have felt Quick had the highest upside on the defensive side of the ball. – (Super K)

Addison Gumbs: Yesterday, I caught up briefly with 2017 OLB/DE, Addison Gumbs (Hayward, CA). Gumbs was expected to announce his commitment sometime later this month. Oklahoma is considered one of the favorites to land Gumbs.

However, Gumbs let me know he has decided to delay his announcement a little. He said he is now looking to announce his decision sometime in “early July”. – (Super K)

Thanks for the freshmen news – good hearing who is stepping up. Love to see Jones get some playing time

    BOOMER!!!!!!

  • SoonerOracle737 says:

This quote makes my day! “Adams could end up being a guy who only needs a few carries but comes in after Samaje and Joe soften a defense up and really gashes a defense with his next level explosiveness”

  • Christian Taylor says:

So what are the chances of quick playing/starting this year, is there a chance he redshirts also or moves back to reciever

    • Super K says:

It’s tough to say at this point. Dakota has already done good things on the field and Mbanasor took a step forward in the spring and I expect him to take another step forward in fall camp. The good news for Quick is that I’m told neither Austin or Mbanasor out right one the spot…the competition is still open.

  • metzker says:

Gumbs, just come home to the good guys!

  • metzker says:

Thanks K,you know we be joneszing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Scott says:

I saw the new ESPN300 rankings and we still have 9 ESPN300 commits. They swapped Rambo with Grant but Rambo is still a 4 star WR. I don’t agree with some of our commits rankings , l feel Bandy , Brown , Draper , Rambo , Barnes , and especially Robison should be ranked higher.

  • Lane Gilstrap says:

    Really curious about the backers

    • Super K says:

Sooners will need an OLB to show something. I think they’re ok inside with Tay and Jordan

      • hOUligan says:

I know it was just spring and hope ‘springs’ eternal but I really thought Dalton Rodriguez showed well. If he can continue to improve and ‘grow’ into it, at 6’6 240ish, he could wind up being an answer to that question.

      • Matt says:

man not good to head into a 3 game slate with 2 spread option teams with very athletic mobile quarterbacks and needing your OLB need to take big steps….

        • SoonerFan92 says:

I thought that DeBerry did well with keeping outside containment for the mostpart. All that said I only got to watch the spring game once since there hasn’t been any highlights made up.

      • Scott says:

Caleb Kelly could fix that 🙂

        • SoonerFan92 says:

Or Jackson lol. I feel like we will be fine with all of the options that we’re going to have.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

The Jack position is A, OK. It’s the other side that worries me. I think Kelly with his length, size and Speed should be able to lock it up. He just needs reps and needs to learn that playbook.

          • SoonerFan92 says:

I think I’m extra concerned about that position for a freshman because of the different roles they are asked to play. I would love for Obo or DeBerry to come out of the gates with their hair on FIRE. Lol

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

I’m pretty sure Obo and Deberry will be in the Jack rotation with Jackson sprinkled in as well. I’ve got Obo, Tay, Jordan and Kelly if we run a true 3-4. I’m thinking we are going to stick with a lot of 3-3-5 or 4-2-5. I just want that Dline to be Gallimore and Walker at the ends with big Q in the middle. That’s an NFL defensive line for sure lol. I love Dimon, Romar, Wade ( sometimes ) but they are just too small for me lol

          • SoonerFan92 says:

I must see Gallimore and Walker at opposite ends. That combo right there is down right scary! I just hope that Gallimore proves enough to warrant starting with Walker since this is probably Walker’s last year.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Oh it’s walkers last year for sure lol.

          • Scott says:

Yup. I just have a great feeling about Caleb Kelly , Caleb Kelly is special. He has Cover skills like a DB and hits like the BOZ.

          • Fear The Magic says:

And I have a feeling about Michael Terry although I believe hes more of an inside LB.

          • Matt says:

it’s really, really hard for linebackers to make early impacts though

      • SamSooner says:

I’m surprised there has been little talk about Arthur McGinnis. I was impressed with his pass coverage. I think we are going to hear from him before it’s all said and done.

  • j l says:

I keep forgetting about jones, must be since he was a signing day kid there was little mention of throughout the process.

Sounds like i wont be forgetting about him when the season starts.

  • John Tolomeo says:

Is Adams that much better than brooks that you wouldn’t redshirt him?

    • j l says:

Not if you expect to lose perine and mixon after this year.

Anderson and adams would be the only experienced backs next season.

    • Krys Allen says:

seriously… Brooks has looked great every spring game, and every time he has touched the ball. Yet still doesn’t get a chance even in games when Perine and Mixon both got hurt. Not sure Adams see’s a carry this year.

    • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

He should take the redshirt anyways. Anderson is back plus the two headed monster we have.

    • Sacramento Sooner says:

Would like to see Brooks on Kick Returns, he has speed, and cuts.

    • hOUligan says:

If he’s ready to play, and can find minutes in this stacked backfield, play him. The way OU is bringing in top backs, play ’em when they’re ready. Sermon and the guy people forget, Marcelias Sutton, coming in next year. OU aka RBU will keep finding the best and let them play.

    • Super K says:

Too early to say. Brooks couldn’t certainly fill that change of pace role. But as HS players, I like Adams

    • wolfbuilder says:

It is very important that Anderson and Adams get PT this year, need to know I’d that can handle it and get there feet wet cause it will be huge for next year 25-40 touches would be huge, they will be twice as far along if the see action this year as compared to not and redshirting and with perine mostly leaving, if I was a betting man mixon will also with a big year, so Anderson and also Adams r needed to be ready to start the season bad cause we will be going to TOSU early

  • OceanDescender says:

Wouldn’t be crazy for Mykel to get in there this fall and steal a bunch of snaps. Makes me think of Sterling back in ’12.

    • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Or Kenny stills, or even Broyles. We’ve had them young receivers step up before.

      • Scott says:

Kenny Stills is a personal favorite. I loved how he just disrespected Texsa every time we played them. He had a true hate for Texsa.

        • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

I had THE biggest man crush on him lol. I’ll never forget when him Geno Grissom, Damien Williams and Chuka all rolled into my house and smoked with my roommates and I. I was so scared they would get kicked off the team and the only one who ended up getting kicked off was Damien lol.

          • metzker says:

Tell me you left the /s off dude!

          • SoonerFan92 says:

This worries the heck out of me even if these players are out of the program now. lol

          • metzker says:

            Agreed!Dont wanna see it!

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Then don’t enroll into any college classes now a days lol

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

            You mean smell it? Lol

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

You’d be surprised my man. There’s a lot of stuff that goes on. I’ve got another story about Sterling Shepard but I’ll just keep that one to myself.

          • SoonerFan92 says:

I had a buddy that was up there briefly and he mentioned one of them a couple of times. I played at a DII and it was crazy enough there. I couldnt imagine what it would be like at these bigger colleges.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

I’ve got a childhood friend who I played football with my entire life and he went to Boise state and played RB. He’s now a client of mine but he’s told me on multiple occasions that he was given money and other things to commit. If Boise is doing it then I’m almost positive all schools are doing shady things. College football is a shady thing, that’s for sure.

          • SoonerFan92 says:

All of them except OU, of course!

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

I was freaking out when they said they wanted to smoke. The only one who didn’t smoke was Geno. He’s actually married to one of my girlfriends best friends.

          • metzker says:

My point is just, in my opinion it might not read well to some who might read this board is all, like say maybe a parent of a recruit.
            But post on Vegas!

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Very true Metz. I honestly didn’t even think about that. I’ll delete it for sure.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

If I could figure out how to delete it lol. Can I get some help TFB staff?

          • Bob Edwards says:

You can do it. Move your mouse over the comment. A – and a down arrow should appear. Click on the down arrow and there should be a option to delete.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

I’m using my iPhone and it gives me the option to delete but it doesn’t seem to delete the comment. I’ll hop on my computer when I get back to the office.

          • Bob Edwards says:

Oh, you are an Apple guy. Nevermind, I shouldn’t even be talking to you. /s

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Says the man who uses 2 cups and a piece of string to communicate ;). Just kidding Bob. Apple really did figure it out, get everyone hooked, make it to where their stuff only syncs with their products then proceed to create a crappy product once they’ve got you! Lol.

          • SamSooner says:

C’mon, Vegas. I’m an Apple kind of dude. I converted whole house about three years ago. That hurt. Really, really, hurt. LOL!

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

So am I, but you know it’s true Sam! Lol. My MacBook that I purchased in 2010 was deemed “too old” by the ppl at Apple after it was giving me trouble. I also had Appletv for about 7 months before my old roommate said enough with this lol. I hope it all works out for you though! Lol.

          • Bob Edwards says:

I have a long history with Apple. The first program I wrote on an Apple product was on a Mac Plus in the ’87 timeframe. I got out in the ’90s one too many times of starting down a line of technology and them dropping it and leaving all the 3rd part developers hanging. Lot’s of other issues but everything that I have seen recently suggests they haven’t changed much as a company since then. Some cool looking products, but you are usually paying an extra 20-50% for the Apple logo.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

I was just yanking your chain :). I’m totally with you. Just imagine if you had held out a few, maybe 4 years. Could have purchased that stock and watch it make you a ton of money lol.

I was always looking for him to be a Tommy Harris type player. I know, those only come around one in a decade. I remember him doing those back flips and just being amazed!

      • Super Keith says:

Me too, and he definitely would have been a beast his senior year. Tommie set the bar for the position, and there aren’t many like him out there.

      What’s that?

      • DrewChubbs says:

Perhaps someone thought that since Oklahoma lacked any ocean front land, we would just go ahead and create a nice little beach in downtown OKC. It’s supposed to be OKC’s new big attraction, but I just can’t buy into this idea.

    • SWoods says:

Gotta love the old Bricktown beach. Its about time we got a new beach in the middle of OKC.

  • SamSooner says:

Alright, Metz; I know it’s about time for you to exit. Let’s go one more time and call it quits.
Your assignment, if you choose to accept it, is to mix up the list of goodbye, really, really well. Break up the order, move some people across the room and sit them next to someone they’ve not been next to before. Finally, give me a theme, storyline. Any and all can chime in.

    • metzker says:

Alot of people got mad at the mixed up list, heyyyyyyyy why am i on the bottom row etc.

      • SamSooner says:

You’re weak. I’m not calling you my friend anymore. /s

I bet half the people were happy they got moved up.

Echo to Brien’s comments. Can’t be on as often as I might like, but always appreciate the shout out.

        • SamSooner says:

Metz is a cool dude. I like to punch him in the kidneys. He’s a good sport. But man, I fear I’m going pay big time when we meet up this fall.

      • Cav66 says:

This is really some serious business, way beyond Art Briles and his victories. If Baylor feels the need to throw Briles into the mix of it, they will. With lawsuits coming more information will come about who was involved and what really happened. You know how Bob Stoops says the University is bigger than he is, well when push comes to shove, Baylor University is bigger than Briles.

      • jimintexas says:

Baylor is trying like crazy to buy these girls off. If one will stand her ground as doing this for all females at Baylor, it will probably show that the BOR and everyone else knew about this. Baylor must work to settle these from going to court

    • Shelby is a Patriot says:

I’d be wary of the lawsuits filed from here on out. Plenty of women out there that will lie and take advantage of this to get a fat check from Baylor.

      • jimintexas says:

You may be right. But, I believe that filing Title IX means they are female students and they are a 16-17K students. It may be wise to be wary, but if the school regularly blamed the females, especially if drinking was involved, I don’t know.

        • Shelby is a Patriot says:

Baylor takes its athletes’ side and the media (and most of the public) takes the side of the accusers. That’s how it usually is in these cases. Neither are right in doing so. I believe in seeking the truth for each individual case and then coming to a conclusion.

      • RBear says:

Or- maybe they just feel more comfortable in the safety of numbers. Allegations like these are probably very hard to go public with so waiting to be one of many would make it much less of a fish bowl for them.

        • Shelby is a Patriot says:

Certainly, though I do think Baylor is more likely to get false allegations from here on out than real ones. Where there is money to be gained there are people to be found, but thst is just a personal opinion. Regardless of how many are liars and actual victims, however, the process in investigating who is innocent who is not must remain the same.
There are 3 issues to this Baylor mess and they must all be separated in order to be looked at in its entirety:
          1. Whether or not the accused are guilty or innocent.
          2. How Baylor responded to the accusations
          3. Title IX in its entirety and whether or not it’s fair and just for both the university and its students.
The first one isn’t up to the public to decide, though they are welcome to their opinion. As of right now those of us on the outside only know what we know. I will say that a lot if not most of the accusers did not go to the police, so going off of that I’m already a tad skeptical that some aren’t victims at all, but without any more information I can’t say a whole lot more and as I stated, its not really my place to decide that. But I would again be wary of those things. There are some who were assaulted, as well, and of course that should be at the forefront of this all.
The second one is pretty obvious. So far it seems Baylor did not follow Title IX. Rules are rules.
Which leads me to the third issue..Title IX itself. Having read it and read the amendments to it, I find it to be a completely ridiculous and hurtful law to universities, as well sexist against males and male athletes. Ultimately a law the the government can come back to every once and a while and add whatever stupid way to control universities they think of next.

          • RBear says:

This black eye will last for a long, long time.

          • Shelby is a Patriot says:

Haha sorry. I had to get some of my thoughts about this Baylor situation off my chest after finally getting around to doing my own research into it.

      • BoomerDave says:

There is no “fat check” from Baylor unless they prove their allegations. You just don’t make up allegations and get paid.

        • Shelby is a Patriot says:

And yet it happens all the time. Whether the allegations are made up completely or just ridiculous. All over the country for all types of things. Of course, their chances of getting the money is hardly the point. It won’t stop people from trying.

          • BoomerDave says:

I practiced law for a number of years and my son does now. No, it doesn’t happen all the time. Myth among non-lawyers.

          • Shelby is a Patriot says:

Good for you and your son. Still disagree. I’ve seen plenty of ridiculous lawsuits that have worked.
But as I said, whether you think they can get money or not won’t stop anyone from trying. Baylor has a lot of pressure on them, and the media will help apply that pressure if they think a victim isn’t getting anything in payment. Baylor could cave and start coughing up cash.

          • BoomerDave says:

Baylor isn’t just going to start coughing up money to pay made-up cases without evidence of wrongdoing. That just doesn’t happen in real life! There is something called summary judgment and the plaintiff has to prove that they have enough evidence to take the case to a trial. No evidence=no trial.

          • Shelby is a Patriot says:

Yet, very recently, a Transgendered teacher got 60k out of a school in Oregon because her feelings were hurt and she said other teachers made fun of her with no proof. She got it in a settlement because she was threatening to sue and the School District knew from similar cases in their state I’m the past that they’d lose, despite her having no evidence.
These things can happen. But again, the point is that there are women out there that will lie to get money out of Baylor, regardless of whether or not it succeeds.

          • Jim Casy says:

Yeah. One side has big business multimillion dollar law firms, the other sides (the con artists) have ambulance chaser lawyers most of the time. Do you really think a lot of people get rich like that? How do you think mega million dollar law firms get rich? It ain’t because they go around handing out checks for nothing.

          • Shelby is a Patriot says:

I provided a very recent example in my reply to BoomerDave. Again, it hardly matters whether you agree that someone can money get that way, the point is people will try, and the media will believe them, which puts even more pressure on Baylor.

    • SoonerFan92 says:

      Have we offered?

    • BoomCity89 says:

      Here it is

    • Rick says:

There is an article on 247 that stated he impressed the OU coaches during the camp.

      • Rick says:

OOPS wrong Robinson, that one is Chris…Sorry!

      • Bob Edwards says:

Looking at his offer list, it is a little surprising that he would commit right now because he seems to be picking up interest from some good schools. It could mean he got an offer from his dream school which might be OU. On the other side there is nothing OU on his Twitter.

    • BoomCity89 says:

He released his top schools in April- Baylor, Cincinnati, Houston, Louisville, Memphis, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

    • BoomCity89 says:

      MEMPHIS

    • Rick says:

      He committed to Memphis

    • MikeyBoom says:

Unfortunately, I don’t think OU offered. I really liked him and him being an OK preps kid makes me want him on our team more

    • Lane Gilstrap says:

His size would suggest linebacker in our system and we are favorites for a lot of really good linebackers. I love Ok preps but I’m not shocked they haven’t offered.

      • Rick says:

He was listed as LB/TE. I don’t know what Memphis recruited him for, but at a high 3*/low 4* depending on who you read, it was puzzling why he was not offered.

        • Lane Gilstrap says:

Well we have Calcaterra as our TE and we are in on a lot of highly rated linebackers.

      • hOUligan says:

Agree. Thought he would get an OU offer, and not saying he won’t. Just a numbers thing and a lot of top prospects in line ahead of him. Would love to get all of the OK kids that fit but they just can’t. Happy for him that he has so many great offers from which to choose.

  • Mike Reed says:

Why do they only do two days of 7 on 7? Will they increase that number through the summer?

    • Brien Brown says:

My guess is they have workout days and they still probably lift even on those days they do 7 on 7 but probably not as much and 7 on 7 could be viewed as a cardio day. Also there could be some rules in place as to how much they do, although I think if it is player ran they can do as much as they want to. Also it’s good to take breaks watch film and other things as to avoid burn out or perhaps a freak injury.

    • Slim Sooner says:

Eww. That horrific “baby crapping rotten carrots” color makes the Crimson look even so much better than usual.

      • OohRah Mama says:

Soooo – how does one “retweet”?

        Seriously, I don’t know how.

Okay, stop laughing at the old broad.

        Oh, bite me.

        😉

        • Slim Sooner says:

Lol. Don’t be mean. I don’t tweet or retweet, so you’ll have to ask a tweeter.

          • OohRah Mama says:

No, no – please..you misunderstood. Seriously, I’m really asking for y’all to tell me how I re-tweet. In perfect seriousness I don’t know how. I think it’s good to vote for us against the poop-orange team.

Just someone walk me through it, if you don’t mind. Truly, when I use the word “seriously”, I mean it.

    • Sooner Ray says:

Helping in spirit Bleed. I don’t do Twitter so it’s hard to RT of Fav anything.

  • CrimsonNative says:

I wonder if Dom wishes he would have stayed another year?

    • SoonerinLondon says:

Hope not. What a good kid. He has great integrity and wants to support his family.

Time to go yell at people, see yall in the daily!

  • LottsSocks says:

Crickets chirping loud in Thursday AM!

  • LottsSocks says:

Checked TFB Texsa and they don’t have one either. Have I mentioned how much I enjoy Ryan Broyles pic atop the Texsa TFB website?

    • Birddawg says:

It’s weird… at least stop him from smiling over there.. I know he wouldn’t be happy.
      Simple horns down would suffice.

  • SoonerMagic76 says:

No daily news yet has me like ————

    • Golfluvr13 says:

Yeah, me too. I had 30 – 45 minutes to waste this morning.

      • SoonerMagic76 says:

Well here’s hoping everything is ok with the TFB guys

        • Golfluvr13 says:

I agree with you there! I have to start working on payroll shortly, that is always a crappy day for me. LOL

          • SoonerMagic76 says:

Yeah that can’t be much fun at all. Just remember one thing to make your crappy day not crappy: you’re a Sooner and not a longhorn. Can’t ask for much more than that besides a healthy family and food to eat.

          • Golfluvr13 says:

True dat! Even better, I have a guy that has a master’s from OSU working for me and every time his kids and him come in my office I say Boomer Sooner and they just look so sad. LOL

          • SoonerMagic76 says:

Well done! That’s years of losing showing in that sadness!

          • Golfluvr13 says:

Yes, yes it is. One of his kids try to say something once and his Dad said, shut it we have no room to talk. LOL

          • SoonerMagic76 says:

Hahaha well, even though Dad clearly failed in raising the kids for the wrong team, at least he’s doing a top-notch job of teaching the kids when to acknowledge their betters and when to accept your lot in life!

          • Golfluvr13 says:

LOL! I pick on them every single time I see them. I ask them all the time how it feels to be a loser for life and they shut up. Their Dad knows I like to joke with them.

          • SoonerMagic76 says:

Haha glad to see he’s a good sport. How’s the family doing?

          • Golfluvr13 says:

Doing good. I can’t wait to see my granddaughter! My kids are coming to see me for father’s day (except for the youngest he has to work this weekend). So I am excited about that. I haven’t seen my other two for a couple of months.

          • SoonerMagic76 says:

Nice! That’s an exciting time, getting the family together. Has it been as miserably hot and humid up there as it has been in OKC?

          • Golfluvr13 says:

It has this week. Way too humid for my liking. One of the reasons we moved back here was because it is relatively dry heat with little humidity. But this week has been miserable.

          • SoonerMagic76 says:

The best laid plans…. yeah it’s been rough. Could be a really hard summer

      • SamSooner says:

        GOLF!!!!!!!!!!

        What’s up, my man?

      • Rick says:

        Good Morning Bud!

      • 47 Straight OU Know says:

Long time no hear!!! How in the HE double hockey sticks are you? Been a while and good morning.

        • Golfluvr13 says:

Hey 47! I’ve been good. Swamped but good. I already have my travel plans arranged to be in Norman 10/29 with my best friend. He is a KU fan and we go to the OU/KU football game every year. Even though he gets mad when I won’t go to the OU/KU basketball game in Lawrence. LOL

    • Cav66 says:

Morning Magic! Right there with you on being dazed and confused by the lack of TFB A.M. input. Guess I’ve been spoiled. I guess I’ll have to do some actual work for a while.

      • SoonerMagic76 says:

Morning Cav! I know right???? I’ve been working already and I don’t like it! I’m not supposed to be productive before 9 – it’s not natural

    • SamSooner says:

      How’s the bride, Magic?

  • Matt S. says:

No daily yet? It’s like daylight savings all over again…my body doesn’t know how to respond.

  • Mike Reed says:

I was expecting new topics and reading through 100 post or so since it took me awhile to get online this morning. Pure disappointment I tell ya!! Anywho….morning friends!

  • Jerry Reid says:

  • Big Higg says:

Little bit alarmed at the lack of news today…?…

  • Rick says:

Jordan is tweeting this morning linking to this OP, so my guess is he’s maybe busy with the day job today.

  • 47 Straight OU Know says:

Good morning fellow Brainiacs!!! Even though we have no daily “It is another great day to be a SOONER” So get out there and seize the day, while we wait for the daily.

    • Golfluvr13 says:

Good choice of wording 47! Of course, it is better to seize the day inside today. It is already hot.

      • 47 Straight OU Know says:

Golf, you are not lying. It is almost unbearable. Going to be a miserable summer my friend.

        • Golfluvr13 says:

Yep. But the wheat and corn where I live looks good. Makes my Dad happy.

          • 47 Straight OU Know says:

So the heat does not burn that stuff up? Being a city boy and all don’t know much about farming.

          • Golfluvr13 says:

We received over 4 inches of rain last weekend, then this heat. It makes the corn shoot up quick. The wheat was close to being ready to cut and this heat is drying it out so it can be cut. It is good for the farmers after the moisture we had. Of course, they would all take more rain at any time.

          • 47 Straight OU Know says:

Rain is definitely a good thing.

      • Rick says:

I’m up in NE Ohio today, it’s been hot up in this region too, although the rain cooled it down this morning.

        • Golfluvr13 says:

We had over 4 inches of rain Sunday night and Monday and it is unusually humid here with over 100 degree temps. I had to carry a 90 pound subwoofer to my basement yesterday and needed a shower after I did it. It’s HOT!

        • 47 Straight OU Know says:

Mornin, Rick. What is the atmosphere up that way about the big game this year?

          • Rick says:

It’s kinda funny, I walked in to the Travel Plaza around the touristy stuff, and it’s all u of indiana and Penn State, go figure.

          • 47 Straight OU Know says:

So what you are saying is they are not on the band wagon yet? Must have got off when all the seniors left.

      • SoonerMagic76 says:

Dang it Golf. Seeing you post on 47’s “great day to be a Sooner” makes it feel even more like football season….. can’t wait

    • SoonerMagic76 says:

      SOONER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • 47 Straight OU Know says:

        Mornin, Magic!!

        • SoonerMagic76 says:

Morning good sir! Thanks for the morning encouragement!

          • 47 Straight OU Know says:

Man, wish I had it while taking my Algebra test last night. It was brutal.

          • SoonerMagic76 says:

Uh oh, that’s not ideal. What level of algebra is it?

          • 47 Straight OU Know says:

Just Algebra 1. But out of 24 ?’s, only 10 covered anything we went over. Very frustrating.

          • SoonerMagic76 says:

Boo on that. Well if you ever need a hand with it, hit me up. I’m no expert, but I’ve done quite a bit of math in life and would be happy to help.

          • 47 Straight OU Know says:

I will. Are you in OKC? And Thanks.

          • SoonerMagic76 says:

            Yessir

          • 47 Straight OU Know says:

Memory is failing me, but wasn’t it you yesterday that had the encounter with the sunburst beamer?

          • SoonerMagic76 says:

Nah that was Birddawg. He commented on something I posted and mentioned seeing it

          • 47 Straight OU Know says:

Ok, The problem I am having is being able to look at a problem and figuring out what route to solve it. I have most of the formulas up in my head just can not determine wich one to use to solve it. Interval notation, set y to 0 and solve for x, point slope form, and so on and so on. If i could get someone to teach me how to look at the problem and know exactly what route to solve it that would help a lot.

          • SoonerMagic76 says:

Yeah figuring out the best and fastest method is definitely key there. Like I said, happy to help whenever

          • Drew says:

Feel free to send me any questions you may have. I graduated with an engineering degree last year, so a lot of that stuff is still pretty fresh for me.

          • 47 Straight OU Know says:

            Thanks Drew. And I will.

          • Golfluvr13 says:

I loved Algebra in HS, but not in college. They could not be more different. LOL

          • 47 Straight OU Know says:

That is exactly what i was thinking.

  • Rick says:

    Daily is up!
