Brian Williams: The Sooners made the top six for 2019 DB, Brian Williams (Dallas, TX). Williams is considered by many to be the top safety in the country.

Williams older brother, Rawleigh Williams, played for Arkansas before retiring from football due to injury.

I spoke with a source close to Brian to find out which of those top six schools are standing out. I was told that Williams father is very particular about the quality of education. As such, I’m told Notre Dame and Stanford are very high on the list. I’m also told that Texas is also in the upper echelon of that group.

I asked if that put OU too far back? Source said, “no, dad wants him close to him. They’ve got some work to do but they’re in there for a reason”.

Team Note | Will Johnson Update: Quite a few folks have asked about the status of Will Johnson. Johnson suffered a concussion during the Ohio State game and has not seen the field since then.

By my count, that is three concussions for Johnson. Each time Oklahoma has sat him for extended periods of time.

The two things we are checking on is when Johnson will be back and whether he will be back at all. We all remember Tay Evans hanging it up after a suffering multiple concussions.

I have been told by two sources that Johnson is not planning on retiring from the game. He is expected to return to the field this year. However, in terms of a specific timeline, I asked a source if Will Johnson is expected to be available for the Iowa State game. I was told that the staff does not have that info yet and “probably won’t have it until next week”. I would assume that means that Johnson is still going through whatever concussion protocols and precautions are necessary and will be evaluated once game week gets here. – (Super K)

Jaiden Woodbey: Have some potential good news on the Jaiden Woodbey front. As you all know, Jaiden Woodbey is currently committed to Ohio State but has been in regular contact with the Sooners. Woodbey is one of only a few final DBs the Sooners are recruiting.

I checked with Woodbey to see if had any plans to take a official visit and he said that he will possibly take a visit and if he does, it will be for the TCU game. I’m sure as a committed player, he’s measuring his words more carefully. – (Super K)

Kenyon Green: 2019 LSU OL commit, Kenyon Green (Humble, TX) tells us that he plans on visiting OU. It was initially reported by Taylor Hamm from Aggie Scoop that Green would visit Oklahoma this upcoming weekend however it appears there was a miscommunication there as Green is still working through his schedule.

But here’s what’s interesting. I checked with a source close to Green about where OU is in Green’s recruitment and was told, “OU is basically tied with LSU”.

If the Sooners continue to win. With Lincoln Riley leading the charge, the 2019 class could end up being one of OU’s best. – (Super K)
