Team Note | Matt Dimon: Last week we reported the following in RE senior defensive lineman, Matt Dimon:

Am told there’s a good chance we won’t see Matt Dimon back on the field during the regular season. I was told that Dimon suffered an injury to his Achilles and while he has tried to come work his way back he doesn’t seem to be quite ready. I wasn’t given a return date but the source was skeptical about his return during the regular season.

Yesterday, coach Stoops announced that Dimon will not return. Dimon was in his final year as a Sooner. – (Super K)

Troy James: The Sooners recently offered 2017 DT, Troy James (Baton Rouge, LA). As expected, James did announce his decision yesterday and also as expected, he selected Arkansas.

Addison Gumbs: 2017 LB commit, Addison Gumbs (Hayward, CA) took his official visit to Oklahoma this past weekend. Gumbs said the trip “most definitely” solidified things between himself and the Sooners. – (Super K)

Greg Rogers: 2017 DT, Greg Rogers (Las Vegas, NV) is scheduled to make his announcement tomorrow. I haven’t gotten word where this thing is definitely headed but below is an excerpt from something I wrote about Rogers after his Colorado trip back in early October.

Last weekend Greg took a visit to Colorado and I was told by a couple sources that the visit went extremely well. After that visit there is a lot of confidence on the Colorado side of this. However, I did speak to a source on the OU side of this one and they feel confident as well. USC is a school that was expected to be tough to beat but they are struggling. UCLA is another program to watch out for. But again, OU likes where they stand. But I’m buying that Colorado is a threat.

At that time, Colorado was not being mentioned as a school that could really land Rogers. I still maintain that Colorado is a threat but there was a lot of buzz around Rogers final official visit which was to UCLA. In fact, Rogers announced his commitment date almost immediately after his return from his UCLA trip. We will be checking with our sources on the Sooners side of this to see if they still feel confident. – (Super K)

Joshua Rogers: Some good news on the defensive line recruiting front…

In my estimation, Rogers is the kind of big bodied, “knock em back” type defensive lineman the Sooners should be recruiting for their 30 front. – (Super K)

Joseph Lewis: 2017 WR, Joseph Lewis (Los Angeles, CA) was set to visit for Baylor game last weekend. Up until Friday that visit was still on. Due to aircraft maintenance issues the flight had multiple delays and ultimately Lewis was unable to make it in.

All is not lost with the superstar California receiver. Speaking to sources, close to his recruitment, TFB was told that Lewis has rescheduled his visit to Norman for the Bedlam game on December 3rd. – (Brandon)-

James Robinson: Speaking of big time wide receiver visits, TFB was able to confirm that, if he isn’t still in the playoffs, 2017 Lakeland (FL) wide receiver, James Robinson will be taking his official to Norman for the Bedlam game. Oklahoma had long been the favorite for running back teammate AJ Davis, but due to commits from Trey Sermon and Kennedy Brooks, Oklahoma moved on from Davis. That hasn’t stopped the Sooners from pursuing the star Florida wide receiver. – (Brandon)

Greg Eisworth II: Jeffrey Okudah wasn’t the first South Grand Prairie defensive back to be offered last year. That was 2016 safety, Greg Eisworth II. Eisworth, eventually, committed and signed with Ole Miss. Eisworth reached out to TFB several weeks ago about the possibility of him transferring schools.

Last night Eisworth told TFB that he has been given full release to any school outside of the SEC West. With that release Eisworth let us know that he has been in contact with Oklahoma staff and is set to take a visit to OU for the Bedlam game on December 3rd. The one thing that Eisworth made clear was that if Oklahoma officially says that they will take his transfer, Eisworth will then sign all the papers and begin working on former South Grand Prairie teammate Jeffrey Okudah to join him.

As further information becomes available TFB will update you all. This thing has a ways to go. Most importantly Oklahoma has to officially offer Eisworth a scholarship. Based on what we’ve been told, that has NOT happened yet. Eisworth told me he expects to know much more on his visit to Norman in early December. – (Brandon)

Hunter Echols: 2017 DE, Hunter Echols (Los Angeles, CA) visited Oklahoma this past weekend. While Echols did tell us the trip went well, after talking to a source close to the situation it sounds like this one isn’t likely to happen for the Sooners. – (Super K)
