– Myles Jones: Sooners have extended an offer to 2017 DB, Myles Jones (Magnolia, TX). Jones is a prospect I’ve had my eye on for a little while. His size and length are excellent at around 6’3/6’4. Jones tells me the Sooners have offered him as a cornerback which is actually where Texas A&M sees him as well. But I suspect the Sooners see him as a guy who can play anywhere in the secondary.
Jones tells me he will take a trip to Norman on March 31st. A defensive backs class of Jones, Tre Brown and Trajan Bandy would be incredibly intriguing and diverse. – (Super K)
– Isaiah Humphries: Sooners will host a top 2018 defensive backs target in Isaiah Humphries (Sachse, TX) this weekend. Humphries already holds an offer from the Sooners.

Would it be out of the question to include Broiles in that secondary?
He will be tough to get. I read recently that John Marshall had 5 ex-OSU football players on their coaching staff.
BOOMER!!!!!!!!!!!
SOONER!!!!!!!!
SOONER!!
SOONER.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are going to have to get OU to look more local, don’t get me wrong the kid is nice but Oklahoma is full of talent!!
Lot of talent this year in state and OU seems to be ‘on it’. If they ‘fit’ get them into the schooner. Still want Broiles and Brown to go w/ Bandy at CB.
I want Brown , I’m Still hoping we get Jeffrey Okudah at the Safety position.
Brown is a virtual lock. Broiles is a wild card.
It would be nice if the Oklahoma kids that are offered would pull the trigger and recruit like the out-of-state kids
No, Oklahoma is not “full” of talent most years.
Better offer Mayden too!!
G’afternoon, fellas. Jones looks like one heckuva athlete at 6’4 180 w/ ‘reported’ 4.5-6 speed. The way he was grabbing the ball, maybe a WR. Get his signature and then find a place for him.
At 6’4 175lbs and running a 4.49 40 yd dash the kid seems like a great offer. He look like he can add up to 15 to 20lbs real easy on his frame. I was wondering Super K (or anybody) if the kid is fluid in coverage?(Hudl is obviously his best plays) You mention a lot of times about taller kids not being as fluid or able to flip their hips and transition well. Do you see him as a better CB or S prospect? Interested in your analysis of this kid!

Boy has got some crazy quick feet.
That first rep when he was in press and side shuffling and staying ahead of the WR that was running straight ahead.

That’s exactly what I thought. Love it.
Bandy seems to be ‘as advertised’. Very fluid and quick. Sure hope OU can continue building that relationship and keep Bandy on the path to Norman.
I got tired just watching this. That’s some power right there!
I would have loved to see him go up against Trevon Grimes.
Grimes or Jeudy. The 2nd guy, Harley, appears to be one of the better WRs in FL.
Also James Robinson.
I have to admit I had some doubts about his attitude and his real desire to be a Sooner but seeing him recruiting other players and even the small gesture of helping the WR up in the Rivals tape has brought me around. I really think this could can be special!
Bandy has some quick feet!
That is a big corner, put him at FS too.
One thing I liked about Bandy was his attitude… helped the other guy up, wasn’t talking abunch of trash, just getting it done. Need more players like that IMO.
Can we please, somehow, someway get Trevon Grimes? WOW!
He holds an OU offer. Would love to see a WR talent like that at OU. Maybe w/ 3-4 WRs on most plays the impression is you don’t get to be ‘the guy’? Looking at tOsu and FL.
Al Blades and Asante Samuel are physical.
Those are some football names.
Asante Samuel Jr is one badass little dude. No backing down in that guy and the skills to hold up, too. Good bloodlines, again. Has an OU offer but see he holds offers from everybody.
Grimes is a stud offer him NOW!! Is Al Benny son?
They already offered Grimes and Al Blades is Al Blades’ son.
Thought is was Benny Blades son, sucks no chance with Grimes
Nephew.
Nervous about Bandy taking other visits
hes out recruiting other guys to come to ou with him
bandy has good hips its nice seeing him work. after watching the video alot of those wrs need to work on their route running
Bandy is a badass.
You close?
Man, I just got out of the office. We’ll have to do it another time. Are you gonna be here much longer?
I head back tomorrow. Flying to Portland, Maine next week.
Well, damn. I’m sorry, man. Something happened outside of my control.
No worries. Next time you come let me know. I will come down.
I will.
Weather is horrible. We’re lucky it’s not snowing, I suppose. Be careful heading back home.
I’m typing this on my phone. My eyes are not on the road.
Stop.
lol
@samsooner:disqus Good talk, guys! *winkies*
Bandy would come in handy in the secondary.
I’ve seen receivers draw double teams, but he looks like a DB that would draw a WR double-team.
You had me @Bandy would come in handy!
Vaguely obscene.
Trippy
does anyone else feel that recruiting is much more accurate now? I think most of the kids that are 5 stars are actually playing at a minimum of 4 star level now whereas in the past you had kids that were mega 5 stars become total busts. I think just the overwhelming attention paid to recruiting now in terms of film and game scouting as well as all of the camps where you can see kids compete against other stars has really helped the scouting services.
Better evaluations by teams/media.
Sammy B just got paid!
Again!
Paycheck Tuesday, is it?
Now if he can just get some pocket proteciton and receivers who don’t drop the ball constantly.
listening to Teddy L just now…He gushed over Obo’s athleticism size and strength but said he feels like the coaches don’t trust him since he played so little towards the end of the year last year. Also, he claimed that Deberry doesn’t really look all that athletic when he’s watched him go through drills and pre-game. So there’s some info for any junkies.
He’d make a mistake or miss a read and never see the field again. Meanwhile Striker, Bond, Alexander, Evans or whomever else would do the exact same and never miss a snap. Not sure why the double standard.
hmm..I hope that’s all it is too because we could sure use some talented and athletic outside backers.
Upside. That is the reason why. You accept more turnovers from Michael Jordan than you do Johnny Backup, b/c everybody knows what Jordan can do. With Striker, Bond, whomever, you take the bad b/c the good/upside is so high.
We really need Deberry to be a stud.
Yeah. Really hoping OUr LB signees from last year, DeBerry and McGinnis, end up being what the coaches thought and we fans hoped they could be. Need those guys ‘Sooner’ rather than later.
End of a long day.Bandy film is awesome.
That said, its 4:10 and texsa still sucks!
Metz out!————————————–
whatever happened to Jeremy Beal? Is he coaching somewhere?
Hopefully everyone is putting on good weight and keeping off the bad. Wishing everyone a productive rehab.
I like how OU is the only school that has had a drill and a defense named after them.
Such an innovator was Bud Wilkenson. He was far ahead of his time, hurry-up offense and great defense.
