Visitor Note | 2022 Athlete Jaren Kanak
– Charlie S – Posted on: June 12, 2021

Just touched base with James who let me know that OU is expecting to host 2022 ATH Jaren Kanak (6’2 210) out of Hays, Kansas, this weekend for an unofficial visit.

***Sources tell James that Kanak is someone OU covets at Linebacker.

***OU will look to really insert themselves as a player for him on the visit.

***Kanak’s recruitment has exploded over the last month as he has picked up offers from OU, Alabama, Clemson, Michigan, USC, Texas A&M, Florida, and Penn State, and a dozen or so others.

***Kanak currently has official visits set to Kansas, Kansas State, Bama, Iowa, and Washington State…obviously, those were set prior to him blowing up. Have to wonder if there could be some movement there. The good thing for OU is proximity to Norman will allow him to easily take multiple visits should OU make the impression they hope to.

***Source tells James OU is very eager to host Kanak and his family and if things go well, he could certainly be the focus for a remaining linebacker spot.

Quick Hitter | 2023 Running Back Tre Wisner
– Charlie S – Posted on: June 12, 2021

As we mentioned earlier, the Sooners hosted 2023 running back Tre Wisner.

K chatted with Wisner’s mother and apparently, she loved the visit.

In fact, she said “As his mother, I want him to go to OU”.

Sunday Brunch | New Offers
– Charlie S – Posted on: June 13, 2021

The Sooners hosted their first elite camp of the summer yesterday and there was a handful of new offers.

James was out at camp and he will have some more extensive notes on the day for you all tomorrow.

Here are the offers that were sent out.

– 2023 OT Lucas Simmons (6’7 300) out of Clearwater, FL – Simmons holds more than a dozen P5 offers which includes Penn State, Florida State, Texas A&M, South Carolina and Kentucky. Expect that lit to double in the near future.

– 2023 TE Theodor Melin Öhrström (6’6 245) out of Uppsala, Sweden – The big Swede already holds more than a dozen offers from among the likes of Alabama, LSU, FUS, ASU and Texas A&M. OU will have a lot of competition here should the decide to go all in on him as his already impressive list will grow.

– 2024 DL David Stone (6’4 240) out of Oklahoma City (Del City) – OU wasted no time in getting an early offer out to a 2024 priority in Stone. Stone already holds offer from Texas, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, Oklahoma State and he picked up his very first offer from Iowa State. Long, long way to go here, but OU did this one right by clearly indicating early on that he will be a priority.

– 2024 DB Jordon Johnson-Rubell (5’11 160) out of Fort Worth, TX – Johnson Rubell has already picked up offers from coast to coast. Georgia, UC, Alabama, A&M, and the hometown TCU Horned Frogs already have thrown offers at him. Kid will have every offer he could possibly want when it is all said and done so tip of the cap to the OU staff for getting in on him early.

***One offer which did not come, which I was expecting was Mikal Harrison-Pilot. Spoke to CJ (who is familiar with him) a bit about it and he mentioned that it could be something as simple as a fit for OU. Sounds like Harrison Pilot is looking for the option to play CB instead of just being labeled as a safety and OU likely views him more as a safety right now. As you know, Grinch likes to offer ‘defensive backs’ and may be waiting to see some film of Harrison-Pilot at corner before pulling the trigger on an offer, if he does at all.

Jordan Hudson | Announcement? (UPDATE) | Update: Decommit Official
– Super K – Posted on: June 14, 2021

This morning, Sooners 2022 WR commit Jordan Hudson tweeted out…

This may be absolutely nothing but either way I figured it was a good time to mention something I’ve been hearing quite a bit. Have been told that SMU has made a heavy push here.

I know Texas tried to make a hard run last week but the Sooners were able to calm those waters. But with Rashaad Samples at SMU, I suspect there is no one in the country that is likely to have a better relationship with Hudson than Samples.

Again, this may be absolutely nothing at all. And the SMU thing, whether now or later, may end up being nothing at all. But I’ve been hearing it a lot lately and I wanted to make you all are aware of it. So, figured this was as good of a time as any.

UPDATE

I am told, this is a decommitment.

UPDATE:

Hudson made it official

This Might Sting a Little (UPDATE)
– Super K – Posted on: June 14, 2021

Not trying to pour salt on the wound here but some of you mentioned in the previous comments section that the Sooners should go after Evan Stewart.

I absolutely agree.

However, here is the deal.

The last time I sat down with Evan Stewart (this past spring) he told me point blank, he would not consider OU.

Why?

Evan already tried to commit to OU. They didn’t take his commitment. That was earlier in the year. The Sooners were obviously concerned that they would disrupt the already talented wide receiver class. But it did not sit well with Evan.

If I was in OU’s position, I’d still try to slowly work my way back in and see if some of the ice can be thawed – especially now that we’ve seen him through the camp circuit and track season and wow.

I can check to see if OU will at least give it a shot.

UPDATE

I am told the Sooners will make their move on Evan Stewart today. Again, they’re going to have to thaw the ice. We will see if it works but I absolutely believe this is the move you make.

Quick-Hitters | Dindy, Stewart, Brown
– Super K – Posted on: June 14, 2021

***As I mentioned this past weekend, Dindy has arrived in Norman. I’m told he is on campus now and going through his tour.

Everyone, pray!

***As I mentioned in the previous post, the Sooners are going to make a move for Evan Stewart.

It does sound like they are going to be able to get him on the phone later today. So, we’ll see how that goes. Stewart is a monster.

***Also, as you know from CJ’s recent report, 2022 DE/OLB, Derrick Brown (Texarkana) was planning on being in Norman today.

Looks like he’s made it as well…

I know the Jordan Hudson news wasn’t what yall wanted to hear but a setback is just an opportunity and it’s sunny in Norman. Time to move on and get the next stud, Patti Gasso style.

News From the Portal | Sooners OL Stacey Wilkins = IN
– Charlie S – Posted on: June 11, 2021

Sooners offensive lineman Stacey Wilkins has entered the transfer portal according to his FaceBook.

Wilkins, just finished up his sophmore year academically and he still has four years of eligibility to use wherever he lands.

This is not a shock to us, and shouldn’t be to you guys as we reported we had heard he was leaning towards entering the portal once he opted out.

‘***Back in early October, Sooners offensive tackle Stacey Wilkins made the decision to officially opt out for the year.

***Heading into the season, Wilkins, a sophomore, was expected to push for the starting job at left tackle after participating in four games during his freshman season.

***There has been a lot of speculation as to where things would go from that point, and right now, while it is not necessarily a done deal, it sounds as though he is leaning towards joining EJ Ndoma-Ogar in regards to entering the NCAA transfer portal.

***Again, this is not a done deal, but it does sound reasonably likley.’

Wilikins took to Twitter after that report was posted on the main site to assure Sooner Fans he was was all in…

Anyway, we wish him well and hope he lands in a good spot for himself and he finishes his schooling at the very least!
