James Robinson: Sooners hosted 2017 Lakeland, Florida wide receiver, James Robinson this past weekend and put on a good show. Robinson told TFB he had a great time and added, “they treated me like family. I love how the coaches and players interact with each other. That’s one of the biggest things for me.”

Being a Florida boy, Robinson hasn’t had the brave the cold we saw in Norman last weekend. Still, Robinson said the game was very exciting and he had blast. Robinson has no other official visits planned, but is waiting till National Signing Day to announce. Oklahoma is set to visit Robinson on today to piggy back off the great visit and continue to make inroads with the star wide receiver. In today’s meeting with Robinson I have a feeling the words “Dede” “Westbrook” “Mayfield” “returning” and “Heisman” will be used a lot. – (Brandon)

Addison Gumbs: As you know there is a report that Addison Gumbs will visit TAMU this weekend. Last night I once again spoke with Gumbs and a few sources on the OU side of things. From what we were told the in-home visit with Gumbs couldn’t have gone any better for Oklahoma. I was told that the Sooners staff walked away from that visit feeling like everything was in order, but TFB was also told they will remain cautious going forward.

I asked Gumbs if he planned on visiting TAMU this coming weekend. Gumbs was adamant that those reports weren’t true and they he was just getting ready for All American games and enrolling at OU next month. Again, as this week progresses, we will continue to watch this closely. If Oklahoma can make it through the dead week they should have little to nothing to worry about with Gumbs going forward. Having said that, I will add that Gumbs has visited TAMU in the past on a couple of occasions for unofficial visits. – (Brandon)

Greg Eisworth: As we first reported last week, Ole Miss safety Greg Eisworth has been given full release from his scholarship with the Rebels and visited OU this past weekend. Eisworth told TFB that the visit went exceptionally well and he and Mike Stoops talked about his future at OU pretty extensively. Eisworth and Oklahoma have some things to iron out so we are still in a wait and see mode on how this thing will play out. – (Brandon)

Cameron Jones: 2018 Euless (Trinity) Texas defensive back Cameron Jones made his way up to Oklahoma for the first time this for this past weekend for the bedlam game. Jones is currently committed to Texas Tech, but as TFB reported last week, that commitment is soft at best. Cameron told TFB, “that trip was amazing. Even with the weather.”

TFB asked if it was good enough for him to come back and Jones said, “I’m coming back. Even if offers pour in. OU is definitely going to be one of my official visits.” – (Brandon)

Visits: Here are some notable visits…

Levi Jones: Mike and Kish have done an exceptional job recruiting this year but it looks like they are still working on some additional talent. Brandon tweeted yesterday that the Sooners will visit star TX LB, Levi Jones today.

Matthew Leo: JUCO DL, Matthew Leo received a visit from the Sooners yesterday as well. Leo is a large lad (alliteration!).

Charleston Rambo: I (Super K) expect this man to be on the field quite a bit next year as a true freshman and I’m not normally one to encourage true freshman playing any significant role.

Tyler Taylor: Sooners are still in the mix for GA LB, Tyler Taylor.

Kam Curl: I caught up with the father of 2017 okpreps DB, Kam Curl and he let me know that Mike Stoops did an in-home visit with Curl last night. It sounds like it went well. We will have more later. – (Super K)
