– Sooners Make Top 3 for Filiaga: In Tuesday’s Open Post we discussed 2017 OT, Chuck Filiaga (Aledo, TX) at some length.
Specifically we said, “I’ll be very surprised if the Sooners don’t show up in that top 3 and in talking to folks here in Texas there’s starting to be a sense that the Sooners may lead the pack.”
Well, this morning the Sooners received some good news when Filiaga released his top three:

Denzel isn’t ready to come out and play just yet but the Sooners have to feel like things are moving in the right direction.
In talking to sources on the Sooners side of this the sense continues to be that this one is between OU and Michigan. – (Super K)
– Greg Eisworth: As we have previously noted, Texas native and Ole Miss safety, Greg Eisworth was hoping to transfer to Oklahoma. The Sooners pursued Eisworth out of high school and after receiving a release from Ole Miss, he made a trip to Norman late this past season.
I spoke with Eisworth and he let me know that the Sooners have declined to offer him a scholarship spot. Ultimately, it sounds like it came down to the fact that if OU were to take some safety help they’d prefer it be someone who can play right away. – (Brandon)
