Dahu Green: We haven’t spoke to Dahu since Friday but we heard from a source that Dahu “loved the visit…the coaches were showing him a lot of love and it was evident he was having a really good time.”
Hopefully, that bodes well for Oklahoma. In talking to him last week it was clear that the things working against OU were 1) the fact that Washington State had recruited him for so long and 2) that he had hoped to go away for college.
But it sounds like the visit was a success and Dahu told us himself how much he likes coach Lincoln Riley.
Arthur McGinnis: Spoke to a source regarding Arthur McGinnis and we were told that, while Arthur’s Top 3 are Texas Tech, OU & Arizona but this is “really between OU and Arizona now.”
UPDATE (6:04 pm): WR, A.D. Miller has committed to Oklahoma!
UPDATE (6:53 pm): Just exchanged a few messages with, wide receiver, Dahu Green and things aren’t looking as good for the Sooners. But the Sooners are not out according to Green. Interestingly, he seems to be actually considering Indiana in addition to WSU and OU. Dahu had a recent visit to Indiana that he really enjoyed. If he doesn’t end up at OU, don’t be surprised if he ends up at Indiana.

I really like this pickup. Classic underrated prospect. He has great size at 6’4″ but is a little slight in frame. However I could see him adding 15 pounds or so with ease. A.D. is a guy who is silky smooth. He’s very subtle with his moves, and his smoothness can make it appear that he isn’t as fast as he actually is. He moves like a much smaller receiver and can make people miss in space. He high points the ball well and has enough speed to be a deep post threat down the middle of the field. He is a guy who is tailor made for this Lincoln Riley offense. Great hands, smooth, can make people miss and has great size. OU went after a lot of big receivers last year, but he’s someone who has good size but can move and is a matchup nightmare. A.D. reminds me of Amari Cooper from Alabama, just maybe a smidge slower. Overall great pickup for the good guys, and should give us someone who can take the top off of a defense.

What do you think this means for some of the taller receivers already on campus? Maybe Miller essentially replaces Dannon Cavil?
I like Miller better than Cavil. I think it means competition for the other guys. I’ve been a buyer on Dallis Todd, and I think that Andrews will play receiver but from a flex TE spot which Riley has in his offense. Think Chase Coffman a few years ago at Mizzou. What I like is that while we can spread it out, you have guys who can win matchups all over the field and put pressure on a defense. Riley knows how to get it to em.
It would be nice to take advantage of some of these bigger receivers…fades in the red zone for example…but if Miller has some speed maybe he can be used a lot like Amari Cooper…it would be nice to have that kind of threat…
When you watch his tape you see a guy who has very fluid hips. So he can shake some guys and get away. He can also go up and get it.

I don’t know yet. I think that Riley will run the ball more than he has, but we’ll throw the ball to the backs as well. I bet it’s a lot of vanilla in the spring and we don’t get to see too much until fall.

Id have been really happy to get Dahu but the reality of the situation is that we’re loaded with “Size” guys ( Mead, Andrews, Todd, Miller and even Smallwood has nice height ). But by not getting him it would free up a space for what Riley is really going for which is more speed. I think that will be his focus this coming year.

It’s not a “gimmicK” They use players more than formation? They put there players in a formation to get the most out of that play. They maximize the play instead of trying to maximize out of a formation? It’s difficult to understand unless U focus throughout a season on seattle offense. It is a perfect scheme for the players they have. they don’t try to fit an offense on the players. They fit the players to an offense…
That can be done with our players if they are coached right, but we have to have the running game to back it up!! agreed?

Look at all of those highly ranked qbs at tech over the years..it doesn’t take a special qb to run that offense…period…quick outs and hit a few deep passes…qb gets into a rhythm and that’s just how it is

Why? Is it ever a good thing to turn the offense over to a true freshman qb? So if we brought one in and RS him, then you have to go with one of these guys on campus already. And I would hope everyone would root for whoever the starter is and hope he becomes a stud. Say it’s Hansen then he would probably be a 4 year starter (if he’s a star then 3) and then you would have wasted the 2015 kids chance imo.
The last 2 Heisman winners were true freshman quarterbacks, so no that doesn’t matter at all. Since Hansen played a little this year, he has 3 left. But none of this is the point. If only people would wonder why we have NO quarterbacks coming in. Yes it is a position of need, yet we have none.

No, Trevor could not look past his first option. If you look back on game film, he rarely saw his second option. And he left many open, but never got them the ball

You’re not getting the point here. He never saw his 3rd option in a game. Rarely his second. Dropped balls are caused by many things, first is accuracy of the qb, and the same under rush.
M Quick could have been a breakout this year if he had received the ball this year. I think next year he will be really good when Mayfield who can check off 1st-2nd and 3rd options.

Hansen never played a down. He redshirted. The last Heisman winner was a junior. The two before him were redshirt freshmen, not true freshmen.

Seattle Reminds me of Switzer’s teams in the 70’s we had physical db’s who hit the hell outta ya, we were big talkers. Thugs, I’m cool with that…Long as you mug & thug on the field! They were down and came back just like the old Oklahoma used to do every time…! We were a mistake prone team & so is Seattle but we’d settle down as the game got tight and others would falter and we knew we had them…!

It’s amazing to me how much smarter some people on this board are than the people recognized by their peers as some of the best in the business. Bob was voted the most respected coach by his peers and has won multiple coach of the year awards, Joe Castiglione has won numerous awards as an AD, and David Boren was a Governor, a Senator, and the President of a University and none of them are as smart as a couple of folks here. Though their greatest achievement seems to have been to figure out how to log into Disqus.
logging on is not as easy as it seems. it takes a solid skill set to memorize your info and then put brain to fingers to keyboard. should net you at least a star and a half 🙂

Yeah, usually those types are just craving attention even if it is negative. The best solution, other than just banning them, is to ignore them. If you don’t feed their need for attention, they will eventually wander off. Unfortunately, someone always seems to have to respond to them.
One in particular was getting ignored quite a bit recently, but today too many seemed eager to ignore the trap and take the cheese.

I couldn’t believe they didn’t run the ball. But, it’s not really that bad of a call. If you run and don’t get in, then you have to use your last time-out. Then you are likely forced to throw on third down, then fourth will be your choice run-pass. If you throw on second down, you get to pick run or throw on third down, and then again on fourth down. So in both scenarios you get 2 runs. But throwing on second down comes as a surprise compared to using your timeout on 2nd down and then everyone know you are throwing the ball.

I like what I’ve seen. Considering he is from Bishop Dunne, a highly regarded private school in Dallas, most likely he is bright and from a nice family. All positives in a recruit, IMHO.
He reminds me a little of Todd but with better ball skills with his ability to go up and get the ball. I didn’t see that from Todd but they’re about the same size and I think both have deceptive speed. Would be nice to see those 2 get it going in the next couple seasons.

He is my favorite on that show. Reminds me a great deal of the old boy my cousin married back in the 60’s, Bubba from Thibodeaux. Everybody in our extended family loved him, then tragically he drowned while in his late 20’s while taking a boat across a lake to go deer hunting.

I didn’t stay up to watch did he have anything good on his show? I think dean keeps up with recruiting as well as anyone in the local media, it may not be as much as anyone on this site but when he’s on the radio with Jim and al he does refer to recruiting a lot. And last year he felt really good about mixon and quick committing in like November
I appreciate you saying someone positive about Blevins. I’ve found that Blevins is right about the biggest stories about OU more than anyone else, but for some reason it’s popular to pick on him. Everyone and anyone could be mocked like people do him, including tfb, if people wanted. It also appears to me, that he’s right on the biggest stories about OU usually first before all the rest of the media put together are. If someone went back and looked at the biggest stories about OU over the last 5, 10, 15, 20 years, and then see who breaks those stories, I’d say he’d reported right more than the rest of the media put together. TFB also thinks things will happen that don’t; everyone’s wrong who works in sports, including myself, often. TFB doesn’t put a % most times, but they will say they think he’ll wind up at OU, etc. No difference, IMO, than when Blevins is asked to give a %. But, for some reason, people like attacking him. Started to wonder why. Some say he’s arrogant. I don’t see him any more arrogant than any other media out there. Name one who’s less arrogant than him. Personally, I don’t see him as arrogant at all. I think people are jealous of him, hosting the coaches shows, etc. I think people just need to quit the Blevins-bashing. It’s old.
