Team Note | Jordan Thomas Injury Update: We spoke with a source regarding the lower body injury sustained by Sooners CB, Jordan Thomas and it’s sounds like the Sooners dodged a bullet.

Thomas had x-rays taken Sunday morning and they came back negative. I am told JT suffered a “mild sprain”. Was also told, “he will be ready for Iowa State”. So, great news. – (Super K)

Team Note | Robert Barnes Injury Update: As most of you know, Sooners freshman safety, Robert Barnes has been out with a hamstring issue. I am told that Barnes did not travel to Waco. However, he has begun working out.

I am also told he should be back by the Iowa State game.

Sooners should be full strength in the secondary by the Iowa State game. – (Super K)

Josh Proctor & The DB Numbers: So with the Sooners already close to being full at the DB position, I asked around to find out where things stand with the remaining targets and how many spots remain. This is what I was told.

The Sooners are interested in:

Kalon Gervin (Detroit, MI) – visited Sooners last weekend. Will visit Michigan State this weekend.

CJ Smith (West Palm Beach, FL) – expected to visit Sooners in October

Jaiden Woodbey (Bellflower, CA) – the Ohio State commit has long been interested in the Sooners and after OU’s dominating win over the Buckeyes, that interest increased. Expect him to visit.

So, as far as the three players above, there is only one spot for the three of them so it’s a first come first serve situation. Any single one of the above DB commits then the others lose their spot.

But in the case of Josh Proctor, I am told that he is a take no matter what. – (Super K)

Bye Week Visits | Initial Word On Where Coaches Will Be:  As most of you know, Oklahoma will have a bye week this week. During this time Oklahoma will be holding practices, but coaches will also be traveling to go see some of their top targets in the 2018, 2019 and 2020 classes.

They’ll practice Monday and Tuesday then be on the road on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

I have spoke to several sources and was told that Oklahoma staff will be in California to see Sooners linebacker offers Merlin Robertson, Ray Scott and Solomon Tuilaupupu.

Oklahoma will also be in Houston to see rising 2020 star Demond Demas (North Forrest HS) and his 2019  offensive line teammate, Javonne Shepherd. Demas and Shepherd are both guys you should watch closely as they are likely on the verge of being offered by OU.

Lastly, I was able to confirm that Oklahoma staff members will be at IMG next Saturday to see all three running backs OU has offered/have committed. IMG is loaded at the RB position with Sooners 2018 commit TJ Pledger, 2019 offers Noah Cain and Trey Sanders. Sooners RB coach Jay Boulware would love to have all 3 come 2019 football season and the Sooners are pushing hard have the two 2019 RB join Pledger come the 2019 season.

Also, as you know Sooners LB target, Ayodele Adeoye and OT target, Reuben Unije are at IMG as well. – (Brandon)
