Open Post | Monday, September 11th

May God bless and protect the USA and light our way to lead in goodness and honor always. We offer our prayers forĀ  the victims of the 9/11 attacks and for all those who lost loved ones that day.

Team Note | Will Johnson: Checked with a source on Will Johnson’s status. We are told that Johnson is in concussion protocol. He will be evaluated throughout the week. – (Super K)

Jaiden Woodbey: As many of you know, Ohio State DB commit, Jaiden Woodbey (Bellflower, CA) has talked about visiting OU on multiple occasions. The visit ultimately never materialized. The Buckeye staff put pressure on Woodbey (more pressure than their NFL DL managed to muster against OU’s OL apparently) and he ultimately decided not to visit.

We are told that Woodbey reached out to the staff after the OU vs. Ohio State game. Apparently coach Riley and company spoke with Woodbey this weekend. A visit has not been set up yet but the talks have resumed for now.

We will see if anything comes of it. If OU’s defense continues to improve, it might only be a matter of time before Kerry Cooks will be able to pick anyone he wants. Cooks is about to have a string have draft picks. JT will get drafted. Motley will get drafted. Norwood will get drafted. #FeelsGoodMan. – (Super K)

Josh Proctor: Still radio silent on this end. We haven’t heard from Proctor and I’m told the staff hasn’t either. That isn’t to say it’s over but Proctor seems to be laying low right now. – (Super K)

Emmit Gooden: A guy we haven’t talked about in a while is Arkansas JUCO DT commit, Emmit Gooden. The Sooners seemed to be in a good spot for the talented DT before he suddenly committed to Arkansas.

Gooden has already visited Oklahoma and according to him he remains in regular contact with the OU staff. Gooden said the Sooners message to him is, “I’m still their main guy”. Gooden says that he is working on setting up an official visit to Oklahoma. He’s currently eyeing the OU vs. West Virginia game scheduled for November 25th. – (Super K)

Offensive Genius: While I truly believe Lincoln Riley is far more than just a offensive genius, this text message I got from a friend this morning was pretty cool.
