– Bobby Brown: This past Friday I spoke with the Erica, the mother of Sooners 2018 DL target Bobby Tre Brown. Brown was on hand at the Red River Showdown.
Interestingly, Brown’s mother tells me that they are still up in the air about his visit to A&M on the 28th, but they for sure will be visiting Alabama on the 21st.
I asked Erica where her gut was telling her Bobby would end up. Her response was more than interesting, “I thought it was going to be Oklahoma for a long time because we had so much fun on that visit.” She went on to add, “I just don’t know now because he has enjoyed every visit so far.”
Lastly, one thing that I came away with is that FSU is a bigger player than I expected. Their visit to Tallahassee last week went really well and made a big impression on Tre and his mother. With the Alabama visit coming up next week, you can be sure that they will push him because he is their number one defensive line target.
This one will really come down to the last couple of days before Brown’s decision on November 2nd. Oklahoma is right in the thick of things with Bama and FSU.
Again, we no longer feel TAMU is a big player in this one. – (Brandon)
– Jadon Hasselwood: There are always hiccups when you have national recruits looking to visit OU. That is no different with national recruits that have OU ties, either.
2019 Cedar Grove (GA) wide receiver Jadon Hasselwood still has full intentions on making the trip to Norman on October 28th for the Texas Tech game.
The UGA commit has deep rooted ties to the state of Oklahoma with his fathers side hailing from the Chickasha area. It’s been about 4 years since Hasselwood has been to Oklahoma, but having grown up an OU fan, thanks to his dad Jeremy, they have a shot with him. A source on the OU side told me, “If he gets on campus I can tell you OU will have a legitimate shot.”
I spoke with Jadon’s dad, Jeremy, and he told me that, “The visit is up in the air, but not because we don’t want to be there, that’s for sure.” The elder Hasselwood added, “We are just waiting on the time for the game to be announced. Need it to be an afternoon or night game.” Hasselwood plays Friday night.
Jadon and Jeremy’s fingers are crossed that it is a night game so they can fly in and tour the facilities and campus. – (Brandon)
