– DaShaun White: Yesterday the Sooners extended an offer to 2018 LB, DaShaun White (North Richland Hills, TX).

White has been hoping for an OU offer for quite some time. He’s visiting OU on multiple occasions including for a game last season. He was also in Norman this past winter for one of the OU jr days and was, at that time, expecting an OU offer. But the Sooners weren’t quite ready to pull the trigger. Fast forward to now and he not only holds an OU offer but offers from TCU, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Baylor and others.

White let me know last night that he will release a list of his top schools “in the next two to three weeks”. He said he will then make a visit (or in the case of OU a return visit) to each of those tops school. DaShaun added, “Of Oklahoma is in there (in his forthcoming top list).

After the visits are completed DaShaun says he will announce a decision set to come this summer sometime before the season starts.

– Taylor Upshaw: Another defensive player who visited back in February hoping for an offer is 2018 DE, Taylor Upshaw (Bradenton, FL). Last week the Sooners offered Upshaw.

Upshaw tells me that the Sooners have remained in contact with him since his visit. Again, I think OU is in pretty good spot here. I’ll be checking with Upshaw to see if he has a return visit scheduled. He did mention that he doesn’t have a commitment date or timeline at this point. – (Super K)

– Another Boom?: Yes, another Boom is expected late next week. And yes it will also be on the defensive side of the ball. – (Super K)

– Jalen Redmond: Yesterday, 2018 OLB/DE target, Jalen Redmond (Midwest City, OK) released his top six which included Nebraska, Arizona State, Memphis, OU, TCU and Kansas State.

While Redmond released a top six, we have been told that OU’s real competition here is Nebraska. – (Super K)
