– Grayson Boomer: The Sooners already have one tight end for the 2019 class in Austin Stogner. When Stogner committed, it looked like OU would be done with tight end for the 2019 class. However, as we alluded to when Stogner committed, OU is wanting to take two in the 2019 class (TFB: Open Post June 23rd-25th). OU has been pursuing the 2019 Collinsville (OK) TE just as hard as ever. Boomer joined me as a guest on my latest podcast and said that he plans on taking a visit to OU for the BBQ; he added that his relationship with Cale Gundy and Lincoln Riley remain strong. Boomer said that he feels he and Stogner compliment each other very well and that both of them could fit into the OU scheme together. Boomer is also high on Arkansas, Michigan, and Oklahoma State. All of those schools have on thing in common: they all have had solid tight ends over the years and that is one of the main things that Boomer is looking for in a program.

With Boomer’s friendship with Sooners linebacker Levi Draper and his closeness with Austin Stogner, Oklahoma will remain in contention till the end. –(Brandon)

– Kalon Gervin: The Sooners have been pursuing 2018 Cass Tech (Detroit, MI) DB, Kalon Gervin, from the very start. The past couple of months, it looked like OU might be losing the battle for his services to Virginia Tech. That seems to have changed since the elite DB has decided to push his decision date back. Gervin has obviously been in contact with Sooners defensive back coach Kerry Cooks a lot lately. When TFB spoke with Gervin, he told us that he plans on taking an official to OU this year and does not plan on announcing soon. That is a far cry from what Gervin had previously told us. The plan, originally, was for Gervin to visit OU for the BBQ, but when those plans got derailed it looked as if the Hokies were going to land him. With Cooks and Riley pushing Gervin to visit OU, the Sooners have once again made a move for his services. If Gervin makes it to Norman, the writing might be on the wall. – (Brandon)
