– Jaylon Johnson: I exchanged a few texts with 2017 DB, Jaylon Johnson (Fresno, CA) to ask him if the departure of Chip Viney will have any effect on how he views Oklahoma. Johnson said, “Yeah it does. It’s a factor that I can’t look at [OU] anymore”. To clarify, I followed up by asking if that means the Sooners are out and he responded by saying, “Yes sir”. – (Super K)
– Taquon Graham: I have spoken to a source close to 2017 Texas DE/DT, Taquon Graham (Temple, TX) who tells me that Graham has decided to change his visit schedule. He will now visit Texas this upcoming weekend (1/13). The Sooners are expected to receiver a visit from the talented defensive lineman the following weekend (1/20) however I am checking to re-confirm today that nothing else has changed.
Graham is expected to also fit a TCU visit in before he makes his final decision. We are told however that because of Graham’s relationship with coach Thibs and the OU staff, the Sooners are the biggest threat to Texas. And we are told the Texas has rescheduled Graham’s trip to the first weekend after the dead period in hopes that Graham will decide not to OV to Oklahoma at all. OU is seen as the biggest threat for Graham and like myself, many believe that once Graham fills out he may end up being the best defensive lineman in this class in Texas. – (Super K)
– Marvin Wilson: I’ve maintained for a while that the Sooners are on currently on the outside looking in for 2017 DT, Marvin Wilson. It’s been widely suspected that LSU is his leader. I spoke to a source this weekend who told me that, in fact, Florida State appears to be the favorite right now. – (Super K)
