Leon O’Neal: This past weekend, Sooners safety target, Leon O’Neal re-opened his recruitment after being committed to TAMU for many months.

Spoke with a source regarding O’Neal’s recruitment.  I am told that he will indeed take the official visit to Clemson next weekend. This will be his second trip to Clemson.

The question is, are they a real threat to Oklahoma? I am told that they are. In fact, if I’m being totally transparent, I’m told they are the team to beat. However, since his decommitment is still fresh, it’s certainly conceivable that things can change very quickly.

The issue with TAMU, again, is that Jimbo Fisher did not recruit O’Neal at FSU. It’s not uncommon for a out-of-state school to not recruit a Texas kid but when UGA and Clemson recruit you, it’s hard for a young man to square that with not being recruited at all by FSU.

However, I am told that O’Neal would still like to visit with the new TAMU staff before making any final decisions.

I would expect OU to see O’Neal at some point this week for an in-home visit. We should know more after that and following the Clemson visit this upcoming weekend. – (Super K)

– Courtre Alexander: A defensive lineman to watch going forward is 2018 DE/DT, Courtre Alexander (Owasso, OK). I’ll have more on him later. Alexander is a high upside defensive lineman who has taken a big jump under Blankenship’s staff at Owasso. The Sooners have been in touch with Alexander and he visited Oklahoma earlier this fall.

I am told a number of programs, including Texas have begun inquiring about him. If you want to know why, watch, among other things this young man’s ability to change direction and run. He does hold offers from Memphis, Tulsa and Texas State but I suspect that list will grow, especially after the first signing period.

Greg Little: Spoke to a source about the potential of Ole Miss offensive lineman, Greg Little, being one of the players looking to transfer.

I was told, “I expect more than just Deontay and Shae, but right now it looks like Greg will be sticking it out at Ole Miss.”

The source did say that things could change since Little will be Junior and, per the NCAA, immediately eligible.
And, it does sound like the thought of OU has at least crossed Little’s mind as the source said, “Little had spoke about OU being a potential spot at one point because of the relationship with Kyler.” So, again, things could change. I imagine the Murray family is in touch with Little.

If Little does change his mind, you’d have to think OU would find a way to take him. Definitely something we are following closely. – (Brandon)

Bobby Tre Brown: Sooners did a second in-home visit with DL, Bobby Tre Brown.

This was the second in-home with the Browns. I would imagine Riley will do the final in-home visit with Brown. It is still my sense that if Terry Price is retained at TAMU, he ends up in College Station. If not, the Sooners seem like the team to beat. The family isn’t really commenting right now beyond the general.

I exchanged a few texts with Tre’s mother last night who said about the visit, “Coach Ruff is alright with me because he’s knowledgeable through life and experiences about football”. – (Super K)
