– Marquise Brown: January enrollee JUCO WR, Marquise Brown is scheduled to announce his commitment today at 3:00 pm (2:00 pm CST).

– Stephan Zabie: I spoke to the father/guardian of 2017 OT, Stephan Zabie this weekend. I hadn’t heard much regarding OU and Zabie for a while and figured both parties had moved on by now. But it sounds like that is not at all the case.

Zabie’s father said that coach Bedenbaugh continues to communicate with Zabie and the family, “he’s been consistent (communicating daily) for eight months”. Zabie’s father added that it is their understanding that their OU offer is still on the table.

In fact they plan on taking an official visit to Oklahoma in January along with visits to USC, Florida and Ole Miss. Texas new staff has been in touch but only marginally. And TAMU seems to have cooled off due to some commitments. I gather Zabie’s family would like him to remain closer to home so he is nearer to his support system. And coach Bedenbaugh has done an excellent job recruiting not only Zabie, but the family as well.

Zabie has previously visited OU so this upcoming visit will be a return trip. – (Super K)

– Addison Gumbs: We have confirmed that Sooner OLB commit Addison Gumbs took a visit to UCLA this past weekend (first reported by www.SoonerScoop.com).

I spoke with Gumbs after the visit and without going into too much detail he made it pretty clear that he took the visit at the request of his family. We have previously noted on this site that Gumbs’ father is a UCLA alum.

Sources tell us that the Sooners LB coach, Tim Kish had a long talk with Gumbs and his family last night and felt it was very productive. I’m told OU is optimistic that they can finally put this to rest. Gumbs is an early enrollee.

– UPDATE (11:58 am): We forgot to mention, the Sooners were expected to do an in-home visit with Jeffrey Okudah yesterday. Okudah tells me the visit did not end up happening.
