Jadon Haselwood Post In-Home Visit
– Super KJ

Source close to 5-star WR, Jadon Haselwood tells me that the Sooners have completed their in-home visit with Haselwood.

Going into the visit I’ve been hearing that the Sooners along with Miami and Georgia (yes, I’ve heard they are back in it) are the teams to watch.

Source didn’t say much about the in-home visit but what was said was good, “it wasn’t more of the same, it was different. In a good way. And that’s all I can say about that”

Dax Hill Flips To Bama | OU Impact
– Charlie S

…as Super K mentioned was a possibility earlier this week, 2019 safety Dax Hill has flipped his commitment to Alabama.

This development has the potential to impact OU in a positive manner in regards to landing Jordan Battle

TFB Talking Point | Players Skipping Bowl Games For Draft Prep
– Charlie S

– Over the past couple of years, there have been an increasing amount of players who skip their teams non-playoff level bowl games in order to seemingly protect themselves against injury which would impact their draft stock.

– This year, there have been quite a few players who have opted to not participate in their team’s bowl games with West Virginia quarterback Will Grier being the latest to announce his intentions. Grier is perhaps the first QB to make that choice, but I am not entirely sure of that.

– Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith (torn ACL in 2016 Fiesta Bowl) and Michigan tight end (torn ACL in 2017 Orange Bowl) serve as prime examples of the risk these kids put themselves in front of every time they take the field and both had their draft status (and therefore money) impacted by playing in a relatively ‘meaningless’ bowl game.

– In my opinion, I support the young men in whatever they choose to do and I do not view it as abandoning their team for the bowl game as they have given (in most cases of those not named Charles Walker) all they have to their teams throughout their eligibility and are now making a decision based on their futures.

– My only concern is: When do we see it becoming common practice to see kids playing half a year (there is Charles Walker again) and then shutting it down? At what point WOULD abandoning your team, staff, and scholarship come into play? How could schools/NCAA address this situation going forward?

Defensive Coordinator Related News
– Charlie S

– Former Colorado Head Coach Mike MacIntyre has reportedly been named the Defensive Coordinator at Ole Miss

– Why is that newsworthy? As many of you know, Ole Miss was very interested in hiring Alabama co-defensive coordinator and rumored top OU target, Pete Golding.

– The Sooners have been working with Ruffin McNeil as their interim defensive coordinator since letting go of longtime assistant Mike Stoops back in October following the Sooners lone loss on the season to rival Texas in the Red River Shootout.

– Head Coach Lincoln Riley has not commented on the defensive coordinator position since making the October moves, but it is believed that he does like the fit that Pete Golding could bring to OU.
