Natrell Curtis Commits to Oklahoma

Last night offensive guard, Natrell Curtis, out of Arizona announced his commitment to the University of Oklahoma. For a breakdown that JY did a few weeks back please see this post: https://thefootballbrainiacs.com/?p=2115

That should do it for interior OL recruiting this year. Coach B has done a heck of a job bringing in very high ceiling guys!

Congrats to Natrell. We look forward to seeing you in the crimson and cream!

I still say go get Jordan Sims for the fun of it!

LOL. I’m with you. And I KNOW JY is. Could you imagine Ford and Mixon running behind that monster!

      • JY says:

Eff it. Go double guards to one side. That would be awesome. Steamroller!

        • Sooner_Ace says:

interesting and run the maryland I as well? That would turn the Big 12 on it’s ear 🙂

JY, do any of our interior guys, especially Dalton, have the athleticism/length for OT?

          • JY says:

I think we want Dalton at center. I’d put Natrell at left guard and Alvarez at right. We still have both Tyrus and Daryl next year as they’ll be seniors, while Farniok and St. John will only be juniors. If we whiff this year, we have Bobby Evans and most likely some elite guys next year at OT. You still have Marrs who will be a year farther along. I thought he looked good in the spring.

    Yessir!

  • dahldennsull says:

Really hope he buys in to the workout and nutrition plans and doesn’t frustrated when it gets tough for him, because it sure as heck will. Looking at the scholarship distribution, he could easily be playing after one year to redshirt. Only guards we will have on the roster will be kasitati, alvarez/dalton, and marrs.

  • Paul Warfield says:

How can that do it for OL recruiting when they will only have 5 tackles in the program this coming season and all but one being juniors or seniors?

OU must sign 2 tackles in this class!! They just have to.

    • Daryl says:

Paul he said that will do it for interior line. OU will still be working hard to find some OT’s, but OG is done unless they still take Sims. We really do need to get some OT’s for sure.

    • dahldennsull says:

If we can get Frison, McNeil and Paul, count me in as one happy fan

    YESSIR!! Welcome Natrell

  • Ed Cotter says:

Nice….Welcome to Sooner Nation Natrell. BOOMER!!

  • Jive Turkey says:

See, this is exactly what I was saying during the summer. Bedenbaugh and Montgomery have been heralded recruiters and so far it looks like its paying off. Not only that but I think they did a fantastic job coaching this year; anything can happen, but there’s a bright future ahead.

  • ohiosoonerdevildog says:

Where exactly do we stand with some tackles? Id hate to see a year like 09 where a few injuries on the oline just decimate the line.

  • Gladdman says:

Scout is saying he is at 350 lbs. Know anything about that? Seems too heavy for 6’2″.

    • dahldennsull says:

yeah he gained some weight this year due to extra stress of becoming a new dad. Was his big knock that dropped him from top 250 status. If he commits to our S&C and nutrition programs, he will shed it quickly and could be a beast once again.

  • Gladdman says:

Does this mean they will not offer Tristan Hill?

    • dahldennsull says:

Think the outcomes of Frison, McNeil, Paul and Pruitt (unlikely) will have more to do with Hill due to being tackles.
