Riley was given an extension for three more seasons, the longest ever for an OU football assistant coach. Not only that, but he got a nice bump in pay (from $950,000).

Last season, this pay would have put him in the top five highest paid coordinators in the country.
Much speculation has gone on regarding Riley’s future with OU. Several universities had their eyes on him after the 2016 season, with several of those looking at him as a potential head coach. This contract extension will do much to ease the concerns of Sooner fans.
Having Lincoln Riley around for the foreseeable future seems worthy of bringing out a certain Denzel.
