Jordan Parker Out For the Season

Earlier today, Coach Lincoln Riley announced that OU cornerback, Jordan Parker, is out for the season with what Riley described simply as “a knee injury suffered on special teams.”

Riley added that Parker will likely have surgery on said knee.

This is obviously a blow to the Sooners’ depth at cornerback. Oklahoma will continue to develop Tre Norwood and Tre Brown; both received snaps in the UTEP game and both looked good. Norwood is going to be special; his movement is so fluid. Still, you’d like to have a guy like Parker in case anything happens to the starters.

Having said that, should there be a need for either of the young guys to come in, both Norwood and Brown are exactly the kind of freshmen you want: athletic guys who, as I’ve been told, “you don’t have to correct them twice.”
