Dwayne Orso Note – Recruiting Heating Up (UPDATED 3:16 pm)

The updates we’ve been getting from a very trusted and close source on Dwayne Orso are coming at a quicker and quicker pace. So we figured we’d try to summarize where things are right now and update this post as we get more info.

As y’all will recall we’ve been huge fans of Dwayne Orso’s game since the offer first went out. Here are the posts we put up about Dwayne a while back:

Oklahoma was fortunate in securing a commitment from Orso however the question now is going to be whether we can hold on to it. Here is what is happening:

– As we reported last week, South Carolina did offer

– Clemson DL coach visited Orso yesterday

– Miss. State DL coach is visiting today. We have not confirmed an offer but we know they are trying to sell Dwayne on the idea of staying closer to home. We’ll try to confirm whether an offer has come from Miss. State later today if possible. Incidentally Miss. State’s OL coach was also there recruiting OL Jordan Sims.

Dwayne is a solid commit to OU and we want to be clear – NOTHING has been said that would make us believe his commitment has waivered one bit. If that changes we will let you know. So please do not misunderstand this post and say otherwise. That is how rumors get started. Again, he is currently a SOLID commit to Oklahoma. And we know that people around Orso are, and will continue to encourage him to honor his commitment to OU. They love OU and they love Coach Montgomery. We are simply reporting on the schools that are recruiting Dwayne since his commitment to Oklahoma. Nothing more. He remains a solid commit to Oklahoma.

UPDATE (3:16 pm Wed.) Got word that Miss. State is serious about Orso. They’ve asked him to take an official visit to the MSU. Haven’t confirmed if an offer has come but did hear from another source that Miss. State is looking for another Dlineman and said it would seem likely that even if MSU hasn’t offered yet, they will offer if Orso takes the official visit.

Boy, you guys were right. As soon as one big program offers, everyone else takes notice. I hope, in the end, he’ll be signing with the Sooners. You know in recruiting, anything can happen, but it’s good to know he has a good relationship with Monty.

Now, if only he can get Sims to join him…….Feel free NOT to wake me up from this great dream I’m having….

Any idea how his Iron Bowl visit went? More concerned about Auburn than the Carolina schools at this point. This one is a cannot lose
