Got word that South Carolina dropped by Dwayne Orso’s school and has offered. Also was told by a source that Orso will be at the Iron Bowl next weekend. However, the good thing is that Auburn appears to be full at the defensive line position. I was told that if they weren’t Auburn may very well have offered.
I don’t think South Carolina is a threat to OU right now. But fans should be happy that Auburn is full and can’t offer Orso because that would have been a much more difficult fight.

Sadly this is the only thing that will begin to validate Orso’s talent to some OU fans. “Why why? Tell em that it’s human nature”
Why, why does he do me that way…
Beat it kid! 😉

I wonder if Orso came up when the “ol ball coach” called to congrad Stoops on his milestone
Orso is my favorite commit it, I’m scared of losing out on him especially with the issues around Trey Carter now. Thing both of those guys fit well in our new defense
Yep they fit perfect
Absolutely hope his commitment sticks. Him and Tito Windham are the most intriguing guys this class for me…Something about these SEC kids…
I know people hate the hype and much of it is unwarranted regarding how SEC schools play. But the HS ball players in that area are really good. Orso will be a Sooner though unless a school like Auburn pulls the trigger. And then it will be a fight. But people around Orso are telling him to be loyal to OU. Not that he needs to be told. They love that OU actually demonstrated recruiting prowess and did their own evaluations and found the young man and offered. And they LOVE coach Montgomery.
True….and I am sure stars will magically appear by then. Auburn already has 2 DEs and 2 LBs and are in the running for a couple more so I am not sure that they will open up….*yet*. I do love that people around him are telling him to stay put.
For sure the stars will come lol. They basically track offers. And coaches basically track other coaches to determine their offers. So between those two things we’re one of the few groups of folks actually evaluating kids 😉
Here’s a big ‘what if’. From your notes I gather it was pretty much a toss-up between Orso and Carter, although I think you guys liked Carter best if I’m reading between the lines. OU took Orso but Orso might bolt for the right sec school. Should OU have stayed with Carter? ‘Cause I doubt they can flip him now if Orso goes elsewhere.
I like this kid, i love taller DEs who can carry weight, (which is ironic because i played DE at 6 ft lol) alot of people on other sites have been criticizing wondering why no SEC schools wanted him, so its good to see SEC powers like SC and Auburn recruiting him. However mark my words if SC and Auburn want him then SEC mid majors like ole miss, vandy, and Tenn will start recruiting him hard!
I think OU is really fortunate that it’s so late in the game and Orso and his family and coaches love Coach Montgomery so much. A lot of SEC schools are full otherwise it would have been tough to hold on to him. I was told by someone very close to him that the Auburn staff came by and he said if they weren’t full they probably would have offered Orso.
