I’ll be watching:
Whether Sanchez will cost us more than one touchdown;
Hoping we will successfully use all our receivers so osewe will have to worry about all of them;
Pouring a concoction of newt’s eye, adder’s tongue and viper’s venom going around a pentagon widdershins against the possibility of getting anyone of us injured; and hoping the crowd is overflowing and very loud.
While you’re watching whether Sanchez will cost us more than one touchdown, you might also want to watch how many plays he prevents going to his guy by not letting him get open, how many times he stops the other team with a great third down play getting us the ball, and how many points we score after he makes an interception.
Won’t matter for OU. We are looking at possibly playing 8 teams that will go bowling, big road SEC win, half our opponents ranked when we played and it still hasn’t helped.
CFP committee right now: “Wow, Iowa is just a smothering and dominant team. They are definitely playing like a playoff contender right now!
The rest of us sensible sports fans: “They’re playing Purdue, 2-8 Purdue.”
If Ou and Ok St win tonight, especially if Ou wins convincingly, they should jump Iowa. How can you not reward both of those teams for beating quality opponents when teams in front of them are playing cupcakes?
I want MSU to win because I don’t like OhSt but I think the best scenario for OU would be OhSt over MSU to eliminate them from consideration. That way OhSt vs. Iowa will take care of itself in the CCG.
Even better would be OhSt over MSU, Mich over OhSt, Iowa over OhSt. That only leaves one team from the B1G in the equation. Now hope for VaTech to send Beamer out in style and UNC to beat Clemson. That eliminates the ACC. Oh, and ND to fall at Stanford (just so EasTex doesn’t frisbee his computer out the window.
If they beat OhSt I bet they move to just behind or just ahead of OU. The more separation from those behind us the better and OhSt would still have two tough games to lose late and fall. I like Sparty, I just think it would be good for them to drop one more.
I want to root for Mich St but I think Mich beats OSU next week which would work out well for OU ( presuming we win out ). So Im reluctantly hoping OSU wins this game.
not only that but move up in the process too.. similar to an ole miss team that looked terrible in their last game and during the bye week moved into the top 25 like somehow they got better… im so tired of the SEC/ ESPN Bullsh#t
Having watched Sooner Game Day this morning, I am expecting the frogs to use an offensive game plan similar to the one Texsa used with their freshman QB. I don’t think it will work wellenough for them to win, though, not with their porous defense.
I think the OU defense got body-snatched after the Texsa game and are no longer vegans, but carnivores.
The frogs still have some weapons and I’m sure their coaches have been scheming, but with a backup Center and freshman QB I think they will fold under the pressure from the OU defense, the stakes and the setting.
The C position is key with all the pressure we can get with 3 or 4 down linemen and a fresh face taking snaps. Bet that QB was up all night having nightmares of crimson helmets setting up shop in his backfield.
The TCU D is the only thing that worries me in this game today. Knowing Patterson, he’ll throw everything including the kitchen sink at our offense today. I hope we can stay on the field long enough to wear out the TCU D, then put them away in the 4th.
Patterson can coach some D, that’s for sure. I don’t think they have the size or depth though. Can you imagine the terror those 200lb LBs are experiencing at the prospect of tackling Samaje? Poor kids.
I posted on the Boykin won’t be playing thread, even tho everyone may have moved over here, so I won’t repeat the details, suffice it to say that TCU has won all but two of their games last year and this, and those to top teams. They won’t be a pushover no matter the injuries.
And they lost zero starters to season ending injuries last year, as much as a statistical anomaly as having 23 injured starters this year. They will do their very best, but it isn’t going to be enough this year by their efforts.
If I’m not mistaken, Bama has to lose to Auburn and Ole miss win out in order for the Rebels to win the west. I think you’re right though, no way Bama gets in imo if they don’t even win their division.
No, I’m thinking more of a 3-0 win in double overtime. I don’t think they’re good enough to force them back, but if they can get into a situation where they start in field goal range…
Speaking of classics fellow TFB member Josh and his Allen Eagles won an instant classic against Desoto in their playoff game last night, winning 41-40 when Desoto missed a PAT.
/whew
There needs to be a ‘?’ vote for everyone’s post. I have no idea what you mean by ‘who did what to whom, now?’ I like soccer, but I also am known for not going to my own little boys’ soccer games when there was a conflict with OU football on TV. Yes, there’s a special place for me you know where ‘cuz I wouldn’t attend their Saturday soccer games. Bwahahahaha!!!!
Blasphemy. The only time I miss sitting on my couch on Saturdays in the fall is when my kids have a game or I’m taking my kids to a game. Football, football, football!!!
Over 600 million viewers worldwide for this game … that is impressive, but there’s something special about Barca, so I like to watch them from time to time … FCB – 4, RMA – 0 (final score).
I think Iowa State is a very interesting team. They seem tough, their QB is tough, and their defense is tough too. I know they have a losing record, but I like their team … especially with the Lawton, OK RB, Warren. Maybe I just like any team colored in Red, that beats any team colored in orange?? … maybe it’s just that simple …
OU is vastly improved on both sides of the ball from last season, when we were pretty much within one play of defeating TCU. That bodes well, since I don’t think the same can be said for TCU even at full strength. But as I said elsewhere, they have won all but one game, two if you include all of last year, and could be a fairly tough out, regardless of injuries.
I agree with everyone on here suggesting we need to focus on winning tonight. “Boykin won’t start” is much different than “Boykin Out For the Game”. There’s an element of gamesmanship going on, so we’d better be ready to take care of business.
I am definitely hoping for a blowout, again, and think it eminently possible, but will not be surprised if TCU is much tougher than many are giving them credit for at this point.
I’m looking to see more of a “cruise control” type game rather than a “pedal to the metal” one. Play a tad on the conservative side as long as we’re in control- live to FIGHT another day (Bedlam).
I agree to a point … so far, our bread ‘n butter is pedal to the metal. The thing I love about this team is their undying intensity since the UT game. Whatever happens, I hope their intensity does not let up throughout the whole game … I hope the home crowd is treated to a great victory.
I see your point, it’s just that the last thing I want us to do is play not to lose. Never again do I want anything like that rearing its ugly head around our boys. Never, ever again.
I will be forced to enter the “cone of silence” this evening around game time, emerging to watch the game delayed, starting just about the time it’s over. So I’ll be counting on everyone here to breathe deeply if necessary and survive safely. 🙂
Thanks. Familiar with that, and also have the “watch ABC” app, but I’ll be busy the whole time, so I won’t have a chance, and I usually prefer to watch the whole thing, rather than get updates, but if the “cone of silence” is effective, all will be well…:-)
1. It’s the 3rd quarter, and so far Florida can neither score, nor prevent a score, against the mighty 2-8 FAU Owls. I wonder what bogus excuses we’ll hear now?
2. Along similar lines, ESPN was making the case for Saban. Because, you know, Charleston Southern is so overlooked and deserves respect.
3. Watching the UM-Penn State game. I’m kind of a UM fan, but this game is a snoozer. It’s like watching basketball practice at fat camp.
Purdue defensive adjustments at half shutting down Iowa, so far. Never been a Boilermaker, but I’ll give it a whirl this afternoon. Update, the Iowa Hawkeyes #5 ranking is a joke.
I believe it’s Senior Day as well, and that should provide some added emotional incentive with Shep being a senior and all. All accolades that go in his direction are more than deserved. To coin a phrase, he has been and remains a “special” player. 🙂
You mean the south end zone fence that was the site of my gate crashing adventure at the 1968 Notre Dame game will be gone forever? 🙂 Actually I think they may have already done that part….
I expect it will have a significant impact on the noise level.
The medium, air, will be compressed and decompressed in a confined area, but not nearly as much as a completely enclosed structure.
That is correct, there has been some that said they expect to see Coach Stoops be out on the field for Sterling for his part in it. Which would be a pretty emotional and spectacular scene!

Seeing how K-State is getting HANDLED by Iowa State….does anyone think this is Snyder’s last year? I mean, if HE can’t get them to perform well, then how screwed is K-state in the foreseeable future?
Even though KSU came back and won that game, I think Snyder is done. He did lose his starting QB on the first play of the season (for the season) and his second team QB in the first half of that same game (for the season). I still think he is done.
I always listen carefully to the type of language the coaches use when describing players, because they are surprisingly careful in what terminology they use, even when it doesn’t seem so. The remarks about J. Thomas are off the charts. They said and say great things about Parker, but this is at another level. Sanchez has been chiming in as well to his great credit, imho.
“I don’t subscribe to the notion a good football game has to be 49-42.”
lol, well, in fairness, neither do I, but the game is only 10-10 going into 4th. A game can have lots of good D and still get out of the ten’s… If there is any offense.
UNC is setting ACC records on offense this year and didn’t have a turnover the last 3 games. VT is what VT has always been under Beamer: solid D, adequate O, and good ST.
Bill Snyder will leave whenever he wants to leave. K-State is not going to fire Bill as long as he keeps his program at a competitive level (I know he has had a losing season, but they went toe-to-toe with everyone in the b12 outside OU)
No, i know you did not, but if a KSU Admin, I would never broach the topic (which is the only way he’d be let go), and I’d let him decide when enough is enough. So, in answer to your question, he’s gonna go when he’s ready. He’ll probably go when he thinks he’s no longer effective for KSU.
Never meant they would fire him, I meant, is HE done? Does he want it anymore? Doesnt really look that way to me, so I posed the question… I understand what he’s done for KSU.
I was about to say the same thing Bill will leave when Bill see’s fit. KSU will not fire him or force him to resign. They where nothing before him and clearly wasn’t much when he left. So I think he stays as long as he wants!
Never said they would. My point was, does he want it anymore? I think not, and I think K-State has already reached their highest ceiling under him, and won’t reach that point again. At some point, legendary coach or not, those guys just stop being effective like they once were. (And yes I am well aware of all Snyder has done for them…)
That’s my thing. I really want to see Snyder Win a NY6 bowl or get in the playoff next year before he eventually calls it quits. I have so much respect for him and all he has done for College Football.
I personally don’t think KSU will ever compete for championships under him again. I think he’s reached his peak last decade.. just my opinion though.. (yes I’m aware he’s the only coach to have ever won there…)
They can’t recruit against, OU, OSU, Baylor or Texas, when you lose out to 4 other teams in your own conference it’s hard to be good or a contender in your own conference let alone Nationally. But, this is the thing Bill can coach his butt off and gets the most from his players. He makes mediocre guys great, mean as far I know Roberson, Bishop, Klien where not guys being looked at being top recruits and he made them nationally known by playing his style and playing it well. I think KSU can be a top 3-4 team in the big 12 and be a top 25 team again at some point cause they do get some big name transfers and JUCO kids, bill can still coach and it don’ look like he is tired or bored with it!
Particular since it sits between Oklahoma and Nebraska, and if you are a football player historically that is where you went. Now that Missouri is in the sec you have a third player. I also suspect OSU is picking up a couple here and there in Kansas.
What’s really sad about that is that here in KS (I live in SW KS) we have some really good HS football. There are some pretty decent players, but not that many really great players.
LOL well obviously they get kids out of HS, but the point kinda with what you said schools wanted him as a TE and he wanted to play QB and well he did and he ran Bill’s team pretty dang good!
From what my dispatcher says, Klein was one of the nicest guys he ever coached in football. But, I agree, KSU gets a 2* guy and gets him to play like a 3.5* guy.
Stoops is the same way so guessing he learned it from Bill. Klein seemed like a nice guy mean hearing him talk he seemed humbled. But to the point about recruits we as fans want OU to sign 5 star kids, but what we don’t get is that Stoops will take NR-5 star kids as long as they do the right thing and want to play for OU, he can make them studs, Sam was a 3 star kid and well he won the Heisman, Dan Cody was lightly recruited and was a Stud, same goes for Lehman if I remember correctly was being looked at by TU, OSU, OU and like KU and Tech and well he was a beast.
I have always been told how great the OU coaches are. The reason is that they can hang with the shorthorns on the field, but never have a shot at signing the recruiting classes that the shorthorns can sign. I agree with that somewhat, but on the other hand, since Stoops has been here, OU wants to take quality guys. Not just the stars, but how are they as a teammate and how are they in the classroom. I will never complain about the way Stoops runs his team and goes after guys.
Well hey they are in a spot and have been where as long as they get a few 4-5 star kids a few ESPN 150 guys here and there and then you still get the kids that want to play for us and that well Stoops likes we are GOLDEN!
Everyone must have misconstrued my intent… I am not saying they will FIRE him, but just wondering if he calls it quits all on his own after this season. I know they were nothing before him, and nothing again when he left a few years ago. But they are also basically nothing now, Under him. SO, just curious what folks’ thoughts were regarding his choosing to retire at end of season… A la Spurrier. Maybe thinking he’s done all he can do..?
He would certainly deserve the first shot. And, I think he could be one to do well there, provided he could get a Lincoln Riley type of coordinator there…
The citadel?? You’ve got to be kidding me. And yet ESPN is gonna gloss over how weak some of the teams are because they do have 3 or so conference games this week and those are gonna be EPIC according to ESPN.
And I changed the channel at halftime. In fact, I quit watching football at halftime of that game. I put up one of my wife’s Christmas trees, worked on some work stuff, updated my resume….Then flipped the game back on in time to see KSU drive to tie the game.
Yeah, it seemed there were two PI calls that could have been called for the 2nd and 3rd down plays. Florida “home field” advantage is what – as the announcers are saying – is what enabled them to find a way to win. Geezus, give me a break …
So if Florida doesnt drop after this week, then the world will 100% know (we already do) that TCU (and thus possibly the Big 12) got royally screwed after they BEAT Kansas. Hell, Kansas could beat FAU.
If I root for a second team it would be KSU. I had academic scholly’s from there out of HS and did not go there. My entire family except my brother and I, are KSU fans. LOL
Normally but there are limited ESPN3 stations and they are getting clogged uo by BB, tennis, and soccer right now. They just switched to USC/UO but OhSt/MSU still unavailable.
I’m going with the weirdo Lester as well. He seems to be barely sane at times when they interview him. His affect is one of restrained fury much of the time even when he’s winning like he’s enraged about something secret, and at other times he’s just flat- no emotion at all- like a dissociative maniac. He’s freaking bi-polar, dude! I guarantee it! He’s crazier then a bedbug!
I don’t even have my TV on, listening to my high school playoff game.
We lead 7-3 middle of 2nd. We just stopped them from a goal to goal for the third time.
Hey EasTex. I watched Katy Tigers last night. They blew out Cy-Ranch 59-20. They have found a new star RB. Freshman Deondrick Glass had over 192 yard on 8 carries and 3 TDs
You gotta be kidding me. This Buckeye team is decidedly unimpressive. Sparty comes in with a backup qb, and it’s tied 7-7 halfway through the 2nd. In Columbus. I think Baker and company would have at least 4 touchdowns by this point.
Yeah the difference between Herbie and some of the others is he is actually intelligent. The guy has a good football IQ and tried to give a clear, honest appraisal of each team without favoritism. Some of the others look more like a bunch of cheerleaders. No independent thinkers….just sheep who drink the SEC cool-aid and get giddy over whoever happens to be the flavor of the week.
They’ve been chasing reporters out of their safe places on public property! I understand completely, though. It must be where they go to touch themselves. It all makes sense now. If anybody else touched them and something was misspelled on the consent form they now require then it would be a micro aggression of the highest order! Not worth it. Poor kids
She was traumatized because of white privilege, LOL. That’s what she claims. I’ve got a hunch these kids are falling behind very quickly in their course work what with all of the things weighing on their ability to be special snowflakes! The horror! The horror!
I see why Ole Miss got moved up in the ranking during their bye week. The committee knew how horrible LSU really is and wanted to reward Ole Miss for scheduling them… oh wait, same conference. LOL
More truth to that than you realize.
There was a kid named Ricky Dudley from the small East Texas town of Henderson. He was a 6’7″ stud TE on a team that ran the ball 98% of the time. He went to the buckies to play basketball and used his last year of eligibility to play TE for the buckies. He actually made it to the nfl, don’t know how long he played.
I saw his team in a high school playoff game, his team got beat. He was the only one that looked physically like a D1 player on the field, but the tiny DBs swarmed over him like gnats and the few throws he got were broken up. He had no passion for the game.
I heard a funny story about him. The coaches sent him home with a blank DVD of the next week’s “gameplan”. When he got back to the team facility, they asked him if he watched it and he said something to the effect of, “Yeah, looks like a great plan.” He was gone not too long after that.
Then schedule it as non-conference like most other contenders, imagine the crap the Big XII would take from everyone if we were playing the Northeastern State Riverhawks tonight
I would propose bringing them in for the “spring game”. A glorified scrimmage with all of the benefits and none of the potential dangers of losing. Just a thought.
Most Sec teams schedule a FCS game late before their big rivalry game. They have done this for years. They should drop this practice and play 9 conference games instead.
I’ve seen enough. I don’t care if tOSU wins or not. If they don’t come out with a monster 2nd half and prove something, they need to drop out of the final 4. They don’t look at all like a championship caliber team considering this MSU team came into the game crippled.
I like the way they are both playing, though I have a soft spot for UH. They wear the correct football colors and my big brother went there as a QB in the mid 60’s in the same class with Warren McVea.
This is a hobbled TCU team kinda like MSU. Our boys need to dominate. No way we should come in looking as pedestrian as tOSU does right now. Need to show people we’re better than that.
Next year’s schedule by the way looks pretty brutal. We got Houston as well as tOSU for nonconference. Combined with what should be a strong conference slate, I’d say we’ll have our work cut out for us.
Danged right. And those two better be REAL nervous about it, too. They’re going to lose before the other teams we beat will lose because of their early placement.
Yep. This is the same LSU team the committee was fawning over a few weeks ago. These people should lose pretty much all credibility in the eyes of the public after today.
Being almost game time I just wanted to let everyone know “It’s another fine game day to be a SOONER”!!! I just lost my Dad Thursday, so there has not been much to smile about but it is still good to be a SOONER. So I hope my beloved SOONERS can give me something to smile about today. 🙂 R.I.P Pop’s
No, I’m not buying this is just great MSU D. Yeah their D is playing well, but this is also ineptitude on the part of tOSU offense. They just look pitiful.
He lost contain at least twice resulting in one touchdown and a big gain on the other.. He lost coverage on another play which resulted in a touchdown. He may intercept one time but will fail to cover more than once. However, he has apparently learned to tackle, but I dont count on it. If he had run back the interception for a td, he would have only been 14 points behind.
Well here is the thing on tackling he can wrap up but he is not tough enough to bring down bigger WR’s and needs help and he does bite way to often on the double move but again a Junior that’s technique!
I can see a case for that but not regular season. When I was stationed in El Paso I caught a lot of HS ball but was largely unimpressed. I know it’s a different world from the rest of the state though.
In the larger cities they often have to play on Thursday, Friday and Saturday due to stadium availability. In my home town we always play on Friday night until the playoffs.
Playoffs are a blast, often have triple or double header games at the Cowboys stadium.
They take tOSU’s place at 3rd. We drop 2 spots for only blowing out TCU 42-0. tOSU takes our spot for managing to go over 100 yards total offense today.
Not seeing much talk on the Twitter about msu back up qb. We all know the committee is going to gloss over that this week (win or lose) while that will be a reason to knock ou/tcu
BREAKING:
The committee has gotten wind that Boykin is not starting, and went ahead and dropped the frogs out of the top 25 early to “more accurately reflect our opposition.”
Time to call a spade a spade. The buckeye offense is a joke. There is 6 minutes left in the game, and tOSU has racked up a grand total of 128 yards. Win or not, they need to drop a looooong way down.
I predict it will be worse than that. MSU will take tOSU’s spot at #3, and tOSU will take our spot while we drop 2 or 3 spots after destroying TCU. Bama’s win over “#9” CHSO will be lauded as a huge win over a great opponent and the Tide will trade places with Clemson for the #1 spot. I mean hell, why should the committee change the way they’ve been doing things this late in the season?
Believe me folks….I have no illusions about this committee really punishing the buckeyes. I’m just pointing out what SHOULD happen in a FAIR world. You know….just for laughs.
Love how they say the reason Bama is ranked so high after a lose if because of how they are playing now, yet the Buckeyes have been horrible all season barely squeaking out wins and are in the top 4. There are more deserving teams. Let’s go Spartans!
OK first and foremost we still have to win 2 and I will say this even with a tOSU loss they probably won’t punish them much 🙁 but, like Stoops said take care of it week to week and do what they can and let the rest play out. That’s all we can do!
It can’t be bad for us. A team in the top 4 lost with no time left in the year to climb back in. Now, MSU has a clear shot themselves, but for now, one of the 4 is out. As long as OU keeps winning we’ll have a good argument, especially if OSU stays undefeated and we beat them at Stillwater.
Still hope Meechigan beats tOSU next week. That will hrlp to dent the image of the Big 10 a little. I think the Big 10 winner is in, no matter what. Have to jope the can’t sneak 2 in.
That’s what it really comes down to. If OU and ND end with the same record, then ND deserves to be ranked ahead of us. Same record but they beat the team we lost to. It’d suck, but it’d be fair.
I respectfully disagree with you. They couldn’t even win their own conference acc. Basically they are in the ACC. They would not be in the ACC Championship. If he wins out they’re big 12 champs.
Michigan also hands tOSU their a$$ next week. Following this, the committee determines that this is just further proof that the B1G is a monster football league and rockets both MSU and Michigan into the top 4, bumping out ND. tOSU and Iowa take the #5 and #6 spots respectively, while the entire B12 are dropped 3 spots a piece…..just for the hell of it.
OUr boys could win this game by 60 and still see Sparty jump them this week… how is a 12 person committee supposed to make more sense than the BCS again?
I think the polls will correct themselves next week if we just take care of our own business. Consensus seemed to be that the committee was wrong from what I read/watched.
He was on the list as a guest this weekend. Many just thought he would go to Stilly to watch the OSU-Baylor game, he is thought to be an OSU lean by what I have heard! But, he would be a nice addition to the class if he should choose OU!
They better start a rehab camp for these cheeseballs. We’ve all seen questionable calls this season, but THAT one has got to be the most blatantly obvious dumb call I’ve seen.
I kind of agree with letting it go. At least that way its reviewable. If they had said down, then wouldn’t have been reviewed. Well, I guess the turnover would have been, but not the “down by contact call.”
Dude, I’ve been preaching focus all week, and all day. lol
Just making an observation. But at least we dont have to have the “Boykin may come in crap,” in our head at all now. Its time to treat Foster just like Stidham…
OUr claim to that title is much stronger than the teams that claim it. I seriously think the university should claim that one as the 1st of 8. Doing so on the 100yr anniversary following another title would be a nice touch.
Just checked the baylor-pokes game. Any team that wears such an awful, gawdy uniform like the pokes deserves to lose before they leave the dressing room.
If Mississippi State scores on a 40 yard play. It's innovative football. Oklahoma does the same, the Big 12 can't play defense. @SEC_Exposed— Christopher Long (@the_real_clong) November 22, 2015
Honestly, I would feel better about this game if Boykin were playing. I’m more concerned with making sure our players don’t overlook or let up on the toads than I am with how well the toads actually play.

Let me post a poll for TFB readers. I get the fact TK was thrown into game cold and all that, but given the huge gap in QB play between he and BM – what is your vote number 1-4 – given the fact we were surely led to believe all summer that it was literally neck and neck in regards to naming a starting QB:
1) Our coaches really can’t recognize talent at QB (although to their credit, thank the lord, they did eventually make the correct choice)
2) Coaches knew much earlier than announced that BM was the guy but wanted to foster competition and recognize TK for his past service.
3) The competition truly was very close – but since BM was named starter he took the job and ran with it and is just very confident now and TK has declined significantly.
4) Some combination of the above.
I sure hope the answer is not #1 – and everything said I absolutely have made note all season that TK is the first one to congratulate every player coming off the field, including BM, and I give him tremendous credit for that and his team first attitude – but my oh my last night was tough to watch in the 2H. Thank you Mr Perine.

Boomer!
Sooner
I’ll be watching:
Whether Sanchez will cost us more than one touchdown;
Hoping we will successfully use all our receivers so osewe will have to worry about all of them;
Pouring a concoction of newt’s eye, adder’s tongue and viper’s venom going around a pentagon widdershins against the possibility of getting anyone of us injured; and hoping the crowd is overflowing and very loud.
Sanchez creates more TDs through INTs & key tackles (this year) than he causes.
While you’re watching whether Sanchez will cost us more than one touchdown, you might also want to watch how many plays he prevents going to his guy by not letting him get open, how many times he stops the other team with a great third down play getting us the ball, and how many points we score after he makes an interception.
Teams we should root for today:
-Memphis over Temple
-Oregon over USC
-Louisville over Pitt
-Tulsa over Navy
-Northwestern over Wisconsin
Aaaannnndddd OU over TCU big!!!! Lol
Thanks Captain Obvious lol
I WILL NEVER root for Oregon. Even against USC. The rest of that list…no problem.
It knocks one of Notre Dame’s “quality wins” out
Won’t matter for OU. We are looking at possibly playing 8 teams that will go bowling, big road SEC win, half our opponents ranked when we played and it still hasn’t helped.
Sooner game plan 1. Dominate the line of scrimmage. 2. Force turnovers 3. Smothering defense for four quarters. 4. Play like champions and win
That’s Sooner game plan every game.
SEC & B1G get the nod over Big12. I think it’s the #1 rule the committee lives by.
Colin Cowherd nails it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWtG3SYXonA
That’s hilarious and 100% true!
So do I want Michigan St. or Ohio St. to win??
Why would you want Ohio State to win?
No kidding … ??? Fer sure, MSU, Go Sparty!!!
To eliminate MSU? MSU has no shot of jumping OU. I hope they beat Ohio State.
If they beat OhSt I bet they move to just behind or just ahead of OU. The more separation from those behind us the better and OhSt would still have two tough games to lose late and fall. I like Sparty, I just think it would be good for them to drop one more.
Pulling for MSU today.
OSU
Never, ever, ever.
I want to root for Mich St but I think Mich beats OSU next week which would work out well for OU ( presuming we win out ). So Im reluctantly hoping OSU wins this game.
So, Fl atlantic just got their third sack on Florida. Goose eggs w/ under 5 left in the 2nd.
They won’t have the depth to hang in the 2nd half. Besides, UF has proven they can look horrible and stay in the top 10.
Unfortunately. Still, the 5 min I’ve watched, Atlantic’s looked like the better team.
not only that but move up in the process too.. similar to an ole miss team that looked terrible in their last game and during the bye week moved into the top 25 like somehow they got better… im so tired of the SEC/ ESPN Bullsh#t
But they’re an SEC team with one loss, so that’s an automatic top 10 ranking. No matter how terrible they’ve looked the past few weeks.
Or the joke of an OOC schedule they play.
Having watched Sooner Game Day this morning, I am expecting the frogs to use an offensive game plan similar to the one Texsa used with their freshman QB. I don’t think it will work wellenough for them to win, though, not with their porous defense.
I agree. Unfortunately for TCU our D is playing at a much higher level (ie TACKLING).
It definetely helps when you wrap up.
I agree!
Does their QB run a 4.3 40?
I don’t know, but he ain’t slow at 6’5″ 220lbs.
Holy s*&t … that’s gonna be tough to deal with. I had no idea … wow.
That’s why I think they try what Texsa did, spread the field, lots of motions and reverses, while attacking the edges.
yep
The TCU D is the only thing that worries me in this game today. Knowing Patterson, he’ll throw everything including the kitchen sink at our offense today. I hope we can stay on the field long enough to wear out the TCU D, then put them away in the 4th.
Patterson can coach some D, that’s for sure. I don’t think they have the size or depth though. Can you imagine the terror those 200lb LBs are experiencing at the prospect of tackling Samaje? Poor kids.
One of them is 190.
/gulp
I posted on the Boykin won’t be playing thread, even tho everyone may have moved over here, so I won’t repeat the details, suffice it to say that TCU has won all but two of their games last year and this, and those to top teams. They won’t be a pushover no matter the injuries.
And they lost zero starters to season ending injuries last year, as much as a statistical anomaly as having 23 injured starters this year. They will do their very best, but it isn’t going to be enough this year by their efforts.
So, I think we all need to root for Ole Miss to win out. It will be interesting to see the argument for Bama if they can’t win their division.
If I’m not mistaken, Bama has to lose to Auburn and Ole miss win out in order for the Rebels to win the west. I think you’re right though, no way Bama gets in imo if they don’t even win their division.
ESPN just ran across the ticker Ole Miss needed to lose for Bama to win the division. That may only apply to this week though.
It was probably saying that Bama could clinch the west if The Rebs lose today, if Bama wins out they clinch anyway.
Yeah we’re at the point where it doesn’t matter for Bama unless they lose. Our best bet is Ole Miss lose out and Bama lose to Florida or Auburn.
Citadel up on South Carolina 14-6.
“Real Football” Huh? SEC chumps!
Florida tied with FAU at the half 0-0
I’m watching VaTech against UNC so keep the updates coming.
Wow, 69 yards of offense for Florida in the first half. That is embarrassing.
They will win 2-0 and move up to #3.
No, I’m thinking more of a 3-0 win in double overtime. I don’t think they’re good enough to force them back, but if they can get into a situation where they start in field goal range…
They already missed a short FG. I’m thinking FAU snaps one ovee the punter’s head and through the end zone.
El Classico: FCB – 2, RMA – 0 (halftime). Go Barca!!!
I think you meant to post this on the fútbol brainiacs 🙂
Who did what to whom, now?
Father of the year
Soccer? I call it “kick ball.”
It’s Saturday in the fall. God created this day for college football, not soccer.
More than room enough for both, believe me.
Blasphemy. The only time I miss sitting on my couch on Saturdays in the fall is when my kids have a game or I’m taking my kids to a game. Football, football, football!!!
Especially today, early in the day … not much on, so I’m switching between El Classico and the ISU/KSU game.
Awesome last two minutes! Happy for KState!
I would expect such sentiment from fellow OU football fans …
Soccer……………………?

Well, it is an ‘OPEN THREAD’ … but you should not use a gay wizard to make your point! 😉 Getting the popcorn …
Great trilogy, nonetheless…
Gayer than this?
https://media.giphy.com/media/dYEzjbtetqSBO/giphy.gif
OMG!!! Hahahahahaha!!!! Geezus … my side hurts!!
Over 600 million viewers worldwide for this game … that is impressive, but there’s something special about Barca, so I like to watch them from time to time … FCB – 4, RMA – 0 (final score).
600 Million?
Frank Zappa was right.
🙂
I think Iowa State is a very interesting team. They seem tough, their QB is tough, and their defense is tough too. I know they have a losing record, but I like their team … especially with the Lawton, OK RB, Warren. Maybe I just like any team colored in Red, that beats any team colored in orange?? … maybe it’s just that simple …
Paul Rhodes seems like a really good guy.
Totally agree … I hope they smoke Iowa next season. In fact, I always hope they smoke Iowa.
There’s an element of gamesmanship going on, so we’d better be ready to take care of business.
agree with this…………….Boykin will , most likely, play early………….
I am definitely hoping for a blowout, again, and think it eminently possible, but will not be surprised if TCU is much tougher than many are giving them credit for at this point.
I think they’re defense is gonna come at us and keep the scoring low until later in the game when they start getting worn out …
A Perine et al dominated 4th quarter would be ok.
I think Perine & Mixon pound their scrawny LBs and depleted D line until they stack the box and Mayfield tosses a bunch of long TDs.
I’m worried about ball security and pass completions with the frigid weather expected tonight, hope the boys have practiced with gloves all week.
Yeah, I understand that for sure but also think this would be the perfect situation to concentrate on being fundamentally sound and to just execute.
I see your point, it’s just that the last thing I want us to do is play not to lose. Never again do I want anything like that rearing its ugly head around our boys. Never, ever again.
Yeah, I got ya- just meant to play smart, not get too cute as long as we’re in control- play fundamentally sound FB.
No turnovers, solid special teams.
If the players sense the coaches letting up they might let down.
?……whatever happened with that soldier that was assaulted and shot outside busch stadium ……..thxs
Here’s an update!
http://fox2now.com/2015/11/03/soldier-shot-outside-cardinals-game-discusses-his-road-to-recovery/
I just keep in mind that patterson’s teams have given ou plenty of problems and some losses……..he’ll get the most with what he’s got
I will be forced to enter the “cone of silence” this evening around game time, emerging to watch the game delayed, starting just about the time it’s over. So I’ll be counting on everyone here to breathe deeply if necessary and survive safely. 🙂
Are you overseas?
nope, west coast, but I have to out for a few hours at an inopportune time.
Ahhhhh ok. I don’t know if this site is accessible by smartphone but…..
http://www.usagoals.co/american-football.html
Thanks. Familiar with that, and also have the “watch ABC” app, but I’ll be busy the whole time, so I won’t have a chance, and I usually prefer to watch the whole thing, rather than get updates, but if the “cone of silence” is effective, all will be well…:-)
BOOMERRRRRRRRRRR
SOONER!
Kind of weird beating Mark May say nice things about OU…LOL
What did he say?
He loved how OU was playing right now
Purdue cuts into Iowa’s lead, now 20-13.
Can you be a responsible poster and give the score so I don’t have to move my fat ass I might burn a calorie
mich 14-10, 3rd…….btw, since have internet, just go to the fox sports or espn cfb scores to keep up with them all
Meh. Too much work. 🙂
21-10 UM.
LOL!!!!
There are few things I have seen on this planet that irritate me as much as those fugly meatchicken helmets with the yellow stripes.
Gold helmets…
I said “irritate” not “infuriate.” :-0
Has texsa ever had burnt orange helmets?
IF so, that would be “defecate.”
Don’t know, wouldn’t matter. That color doesn’t provoke either of the two mentioned reactions, that color provokes reverse peristalsis.
From the inside out, maybe. 😮
Eat some more cabbage, you. 🙂
Purdoo doo will find a way to lose
Purdue defensive adjustments at half shutting down Iowa, so far. Never been a Boilermaker, but I’ll give it a whirl this afternoon. Update, the Iowa Hawkeyes #5 ranking is a joke.
I believe it’s Senior Day as well, and that should provide some added emotional incentive with Shep being a senior and all. All accolades that go in his direction are more than deserved. To coin a phrase, he has been and remains a “special” player. 🙂
Last time at the old Owen field stadium configuration, too.
yep- bowled in next game
Woooo Hooooo! Been waiting for years!
You mean the south end zone fence that was the site of my gate crashing adventure at the 1968 Notre Dame game will be gone forever? 🙂 Actually I think they may have already done that part….
In your (anyone’s) opinion, how much will this help in holding in some of the crowd noise?
I would think it has to help, at least some. Will be certainly interesting to find out.

Hoping Joel continues to beat that drum.
I wonder if the playoff cabal is on twitter?
maybe incognito
They are. I follow them. But they don’t really say anything but their rankings. They are controlled by the $ec powerbroker, I mean E$PiN
I’m liking how this guy wont let up on the committee… Now if the big 12 can just do the work.
Nothing will happen. Florida got the w to a fiesty good team at home /s
the committee may move Florida up 1 spot after moving Mich St to 4th….Gary Danielson of the SEC network said it would happen…………

“Make a STATEMENT.”
Gorgeous Mindset.
Please do so…remember the Texas game…Never again!
What the “committee” should be seeing:
Purdue defense has really tightened. Now if their wr’s could catch a darn pass, this game would already be tied.
Okay, I will not speak on this again. Immediately after I posted that, Iowa strikes on a wide open seem route. Damn.
There was an Iowa catch and fumble earlier in the drive, should have been ruled a fumble but replay confirmed as incomplete pass.
I must have missed that one.
I saw the two missed catches which should have been Purdue touchdowns.
Early games are real snoozers today…
VT/UNC is pretty good. Lots of good D and VT just had a nice power drive for a TD.
Good D? Or no offense? /s
D. Good pass rush, solid tackling, etc. I don’t subscribe to the notion a good football game has to be 49-42.
Yea, I know nothing of UNC this year… Thanks!

Joel Klatt is quickly becoming my favorite twitter follow.
K-State scores TD to bring it within 7. Thought they were going to get hosed on the replay. Never know what they are going to rule on what a catch is.
Mentioned it below, but no one responded yet… You think this is Snyder’s last year? Good to see they pulled closer…
Bill Snyder will leave whenever he wants to leave. K-State is not going to fire Bill as long as he keeps his program at a competitive level (I know he has had a losing season, but they went toe-to-toe with everyone in the b12 outside OU)
What is their historical record when Snyder is not the coach? No way I’d ever get rid of him … try and make him coach until he decides to quit/retire.
That was my main point of the original question… Is he done? (completely on his own terms…) I never meant to insinuate they would fire him..
But thats what I am wondering…do you think, HE THINKS, he is done and no longer effective? and has done all he can do to HELP them?
No I don’t … this is just one season, and they were close to beating OSU. i believe we’ll at least see him for another season.
Gotta be one of Bill on the wall somewhere.
http://i1-win.softpedia-static.com/screenshots/Futurama-Vol-5-Heads-In-Jars_1.png
I don’t like the man TBH, nor KSU but, a friend brought all what I said to my attention and I can’t argue his point at all!
I do not know him personally, but he seems like a very good man. Bob thinks the world of him and that says alot about Bill’s character to me.
Never said they would. My point was, does he want it anymore? I think not, and I think K-State has already reached their highest ceiling under him, and won’t reach that point again. At some point, legendary coach or not, those guys just stop being effective like they once were. (And yes I am well aware of all Snyder has done for them…)
I have no idea how he feels at the end of the season. Has to be a grind at his age. Would like to see them relevant again.
Recruiting kids to the state of Kansas certainly is tough..
Unless it’s Basketball
And if you have ever been in Phog Allen Field House, you know it is a flipping dump! It’s like a HS basketball gym.
Kids play for the name and the coach when it comes to Basketball I am guessing then. I have heard many times Phog Allen is not pleasant
It isn’t. I lived in Topeka from 5th grade through 9th grade and went to a few games there. It was a dump back then (early 80’s).
Klein played for one of my employees in HS. He was being recruited by a few D-1 schools at TE, but he wanted to play QB.
BTW good day to you Golfluvr 🙂
You too Brien!
Not everyone. just saying 🙂
Edited. 🙂
Venables
He would certainly deserve the first shot. And, I think he could be one to do well there, provided he could get a Lincoln Riley type of coordinator there…
I responded, but I’ve been busy today so far. Yes, I think this is Snyder’s last year.
I responded, but I’ve been busy today so far. Yes, I think this is Snyder’s last year.
The citadel 23, Gamecocks 22. 6 min to go..
FAU!!!! FAU!!! FAU!!!!
S-E-C!!!! S-E-C!!!
The letters do not deserve capitalization! Even if being snarky! Especially if being snarky!
Be interesting to watch football strategy change if they instituted a 5 foul limit like basketball..hmmmm? Ok..so I am officially bored…
They’d never do that. That’d hurt the SEC.
Me too, but BUT, at least FAU is tied late with Florida AT Florida, AND The Citadel is beating the gamecocks late at SC. Could get interesting ….
This is nuts, they are freaking 2-8! How the hell do they go in there and even give em a game?
One answer seems to fit: “S-E-C!!! S-E-C!!! S-E-C!!!”
South Carolina is a dumpster fire.
But, but, S.E.C.
LOL
Correction: the SEC is a dumpster fire 😀
The citadel?? You’ve got to be kidding me. And yet ESPN is gonna gloss over how weak some of the teams are because they do have 3 or so conference games this week and those are gonna be EPIC according to ESPN.
At least the Citadel is 8-3. Freaking FAU is 2-8 and can win OT against Florida with a TD and extra point… (Florida just got PAT blocked..)
Temple rolls the Fighting Fuentes.
Prob jump back in to #6.
FAU has 1:02 to score or it goes to OT.
C’MON MAN!!!
And they are kneeling!
Wow, first play after the turnover, KState hits long pass into the red zone.
Thought this game was over, KState says don’t change that channel mister! Lol
And I changed the channel at halftime. In fact, I quit watching football at halftime of that game. I put up one of my wife’s Christmas trees, worked on some work stuff, updated my resume….Then flipped the game back on in time to see KSU drive to tie the game.
Exciting finish. Not much in between. Good timing.
LOL! What I saw was exciting. Glad I missed the boring part.
Anyone watching the FAU / Gator game?
I am..
This is funny. Hope FAU can score here.
yessir!
Did they miss the PAT?
Blocked!
Ha.
Time for FAU to pull something out of the back of the playbook.
Two PIs in a row not called on UF.
Yep
Bullshit.
It’s*
Damn. So close, FAU.
FAU got jobbed..SEC style…
Yeah, it seemed there were two PI calls that could have been called for the 2nd and 3rd down plays. Florida “home field” advantage is what – as the announcers are saying – is what enabled them to find a way to win. Geezus, give me a break …
So if Florida doesnt drop after this week, then the world will 100% know (we already do) that TCU (and thus possibly the Big 12) got royally screwed after they BEAT Kansas. Hell, Kansas could beat FAU.
U DA MAN!! totally agree
“Hell, Kansas could beat FAU.”
Not sure Kansas could beat Jenks.
Not sure FAU could beat Jenks.
Hey- if we chant BTC! BTC! at the game tonight will we be a better team? LOL
I didnt realize this, but The Citadel put it to S. Car with the TRIPLE OPTION (its not dead!!). Certainly makes it even more Beautiful.
And Navy will use it to rush for 900 yards against Tulsa later.
Yea, the service academies usually do pretty decent with it.
I’m a little late to the party here, but what about that KSU comeback win? WOW!
BOOOOOOO!!!! I was pulling for ISU … we need another team in the Big12 to handle the middling role and KSU isn’t getting it done this year …
If I root for a second team it would be KSU. I had academic scholly’s from there out of HS and did not go there. My entire family except my brother and I, are KSU fans. LOL
Floriduh will jump 8 spots in the poll this week after beating FAU (2-9) at home in overtime.

slow day?
…and very looong…
Have you been drinking? Snorting? Shooting up? Poppin’ pills? or are you just high on OU?
Don’t do drugs in liquid, pill or powder form.
Love my Sooners, though.
Life provides enough highs! No need for the other kinds.
That’s right!
Why poison myself while I’m having fun?
Amen brother!
WTF! OhSt/MSU & USC/UO not being broadcast through watchESPN in favor of women’s college tennis.
Aren’t all games on an ESPN station broadcast on watchespn? Unless they are blacked out, its got to be there somewhere. Can you search?
Normally but there are limited ESPN3 stations and they are getting clogged uo by BB, tennis, and soccer right now. They just switched to USC/UO but OhSt/MSU still unavailable.
Thats weird. When I go to watchespn, and click football, I see both games showing up.
I’m watching through the Xbox app so maybe that’s the difference.
It very well might be. I’m using a PC.
It very well might be. I’m using a PC.
Glad to join you guys! Lookin for a dominant win tonight.
You think we’ll hear the same garbage about OU playing backups for tOSU today!?!? Nope…
Harvard @ Yale on NBCSN. Always good stuff.
The oldest rivalry.
Ever wonder why we get a picture of a football at the top of this thread instead of a time and channel schedule? Hmmmm. 🙂
http://506sports.com/ncaaf.php
http://506sports.com/ncaaf.php
That would be a nice added value!
Down the right hand side below the Original Posters stuff
I think he meant all of today’s games and times. 🙂
I think he meant all of today’s games and times. 🙂
That would be a nice added value!
Go Bulldogs (my son wants to play rugby there). Crimson winning last I looked.
21-7 at halftime
21-7 at halftime
Academic bowl?
Well, it is the oldest rivalry in college football.
I’m watching it.
Yale …. weak leadership, just like mizzou.
And Princeton and UNC.
Tommy Lee Jones played for Harvard.
He played in the infamous 1968 29-29 tie game.
Al Gores roommate
Who do I despise most, Meyer, Miles, Gundy, or Saban? Unfortunately, I can’t answer my own question.
easy answer is whoever you’re watching at the moment
Good point, Meyer
Not adding M Gundy to that list?
See edit above
I have to with Saban. Always go with Saban.
My hope is Strong goes to Miami, and Saban comes to texas … that’d be a good place to assert our dominance.
My hope is UT disbands its football program and Saban’s house catches on fire.
I pick Lester as the single most annoying
Agree, and I loved the 2003 beatdown we handed him while he was at OSU. He didn’t have much of any explanation for that ass whoopin …
I pick Lester as the single most annoying
Good Gawd…..just saw the score for SC/Citadel. What a bloody train wreck.
Good Gawd…..just saw the score for SC/Citadel. What a bloody train wreck.
Oh good Lord! Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge WHY??? I cannot stand Blackledge!
radio play-by-play
Or I can just do my own color/play-by-play. LOL The radio is always a few seconds too slow for watching it live.
Dang!
Do they have a factory for producing these great RBs?
Porter hurt his ankle late Oct but back now. He had 166 yards as well.
You should listen to BleedCrimson’s source, he’s always about a play ahead of tv.
LOL! I know!
Bama in a war with powerhouse CSU. It won’t last but we can dream, right?
https://twitter.com/mike_williams52/status/668143825085456384
Why?
You moved on and so did OU.
My guess is he’s hearing other Cali studs express interest and he wants some of that
Or just likes to “fade.”
Well, if he wants to go ask Kaden Smith if he wants to make a quick drive to Norman I wouldn’t complain.
Who?
Michigan State just tied the score with Ohio State, halfway thru 2nd
You gotta be kidding me. This Buckeye team is decidedly unimpressive. Sparty comes in with a backup qb, and it’s tied 7-7 halfway through the 2nd. In Columbus. I think Baker and company would have at least 4 touchdowns by this point.
We play these Buckeyes each of the next two years in a home and home series, we’ll soon see.
I’d rather play the one I’m watching right now
We will be returning 17 starters next year, I wonder about them?
fairly sr and jr heavy
Totally lackluster
Not exactly. They graduate a lot of talent. Still a huge series and should make some national waves.
Not exactly what? Did you infer that we would play this exact same team? nah.
Just saying the roster will be very different when we line up next fall.
Yeah, I did the same below
Go Sparty
Herbie commentating for tOSU/MSU and just talked again about how impressed he was with the Sooners last week. Nice.
SWEET!
The Herbster is Sooner friendly
I think so too
refuses to be bought
I think he tries to be fair and not a blatant homer like Corso, May, etc.
He is, for the most part, usually pretty darn fair with his assessments of teams.
I think he’s building up the OU vs. tOSU series. 🙂
Harvard is destroying Yale’s senior day.
I smell a lawsuit coming!
ROTFLOL!
…and a lengthy list of demands.
Violating their “safe place” are they? LOL!
LOL! Yep! Yale scored first and the score now is 28-7 with 8:30 to go in the third.
They’ve been chasing reporters out of their safe places on public property! I understand completely, though. It must be where they go to touch themselves. It all makes sense now. If anybody else touched them and something was misspelled on the consent form they now require then it would be a micro aggression of the highest order! Not worth it. Poor kids
What you really have to worry about now is this new thing, “phantom aggression.” :->
Is that like the lady who was on TV sometime this week as the survivor of cyber violence or something. I was like, WHAT?
…only the Phantom knows…
She was traumatized because of white privilege, LOL. That’s what she claims. I’ve got a hunch these kids are falling behind very quickly in their course work what with all of the things weighing on their ability to be special snowflakes! The horror! The horror!
No one here just opened up Shazam did they?
Umm, I don’t even know what that is.
Yep, confused.
It’s an App that recognizes what song is playing and tells you the tile/artist etc. I guess it works for that commercial as well
Oh. I use soundhound for that.
I did and a budwiser came up on my phones screen
did you drink it?
no Im saving it for game time
hopefully they’ll keep playing that commercial and you can stock up
Im not counting on it…about to run to the grocery store and stock up
better plan
Is that anything like Shasta?
…

Those fake accounts are hilarious.
Couldn’t live without them. 🙂
They are. I follow most of them. They crack me up. I love the Not Mike Stoops one. That guy is a hoot.
I always loved the Pelini.
I see why Ole Miss got moved up in the ranking during their bye week. The committee knew how horrible LSU really is and wanted to reward Ole Miss for scheduling them… oh wait, same conference. LOL
Anyone else as thoroughly impressed by these Big X offenses as I am?
LOL! They all look like what we ran in junior high, you know before our QB’s had much arm strength.
I always thought that the Big X used their basketball teams to play football as well. /sarcasm
LOL!
1st Round top 10 pick too if I remember.
Really?
Hunh. The most uninspired football player I ever saw until I saw Wheeler at LB last year.
Yeah, it was an Al Davis pick though so it deserves an asterisk.
Davis also drafted that QB out of lsu, too, didn’t he?
JaMarcus no hustle Russell
That’s the one. LOL!
What a derp.
Davis the last few years would draft the fastest guy at the combine in the first round. And then they would flop. LOL
I heard a funny story about him. The coaches sent him home with a blank DVD of the next week’s “gameplan”. When he got back to the team facility, they asked him if he watched it and he said something to the effect of, “Yeah, looks like a great plan.” He was gone not too long after that.
*BUSTED* LOL!
I hear he’s dead broke now, too. What a waste.
He was never accused of being intelligent.
I can’t recall a single occurrence.
How does Alabama get away with scheduling Charleston Southern, Division I-AA, this deep into the season? I’m embarrassed for them, pathetic.
isn’t it a make-up game from earlier in the year, weather related or something?
I don’t think so
SEC is famous for this. I think NCAA should ban such scheduling. All P5 teams should be required to play only D1 (FBS) teams.
The Citadel would like to have a word with you, sir!
And they Said 23-22!
Well said and they aren’t the only one but my position remains unchanged.
Won’t happen. A lot of 1-AA programs depend on the payday.
Well another reason I don’t like the SEC
I’ve seen enough. I don’t care if tOSU wins or not. If they don’t come out with a monster 2nd half and prove something, they need to drop out of the final 4. They don’t look at all like a championship caliber team considering this MSU team came into the game crippled.
Michigan beats them next week. Book it.
I wouldn’t be surprised
Great shot. Nobody wants to play Mich this year. They are dangerous.
Its at Michigan and we all know that Harbaugh sold his soul to the devil.
That game is in the books.
So the devil has no favorite coach in that contest, now?
Lol thats what I was thinking as I wrote that post.
No offensive power at all.
Go Crimson. 31-7.
So who makes better halftime adjustments, Dantonio or Meyer?
Dantonio Banderas
Well said! I thing MSU getting the ball could be key in a tight road game.
Dantonio. From what I’ve seen this season, Meyer just whispers at his players to do better.
About time for Meyer to fly the coup again, next stop, Big XII
UConn beating Houston.
Cougars are just sandbagging until the 4th qtr. 🙂
Probably but some losses at the bottom of the top 25 could sneak WVU and TTU back in. Or save TCU from falling out.
I’m hoping for a good game with UH and Navy.
I dig Navy but hope TU pulls the upset. If not, I hope Navy gets that New Year’s 6 bid. It would be great for a service academy to lock that up.
TU is a year or two away
If they can keep their coach. They are a dangerous out for a mid-major though.
He’ll have to prove himself at TU first but yes, I agree he’s gone soon after
TU has done really well finding up and coming coaches the last 10-12 years. I like the idea of them getting a rep as a coaching hot bed.
Has produced a lot of talent- always will be a stepping-stone program though.
True. Will never be a powerhouse. Being smallest D1, I think regular bowl appearances and good coaching are good enough.
I like the way they are both playing, though I have a soft spot for UH. They wear the correct football colors and my big brother went there as a QB in the mid 60’s in the same class with Warren McVea.
Valid reasons. I’m in the Army so I root for the service academies. Except the last week of the season. Go Army! Beat Navy!
BLUE AND GOLD, BABY!
Houstons rise = tOSU’s decline
Clearly the case.
Did anyone run burritos to the officials for tonight’s game?
This is a hobbled TCU team kinda like MSU. Our boys need to dominate. No way we should come in looking as pedestrian as tOSU does right now. Need to show people we’re better than that.
Agreed. Put the wounded animal out of it’s misery before it takes you with it.
So where does LSU go after this loss? #11?
Shopping for a new coach. Mad Hatter in trouble per school regent.
That would be silly. LSU wasn’t a factor until Saban and Miles.
Saban to LSU.
Aren’t they already #11 or are they #17? I can’t remember.
15 I think.
See, I don’t follow the $ec teams. I looked it up, they are 15 (for now)
Likely move up a spot or two after a loss because of……you know. 🙂
Who?
sec/committee.
They could use a bye to move up a few more.
Exactly!
Well, it’s Ole Miss and we all know they are the kings of college football. Gotta ease up on LSU cause Ole Miss beat almighty Bama.
Disneyland?
They go on a search for a new coach.
Well Ole Miss climbed something like 3 spots after a loss and a Bye. So what is LSU now? 15? Yeah, 11 or 12 sounds about right.
Let’s face it: We are all just so damn lucky to have such a brilliant committee sorting out these rankings for us.
Next year’s schedule by the way looks pretty brutal. We got Houston as well as tOSU for nonconference. Combined with what should be a strong conference slate, I’d say we’ll have our work cut out for us.
me likey
We open @Houston, then Home vs Louisiana Monroe and Ohio State.
That kind of a schedule is a great recruiting tool
Agreed, should add Pac XII non conference games in the future too
We have Michigan coming up in the near future.
Danged right. And those two better be REAL nervous about it, too. They’re going to lose before the other teams we beat will lose because of their early placement.
Yep. This is the same LSU team the committee was fawning over a few weeks ago. These people should lose pretty much all credibility in the eyes of the public after today.
Every Time they talk up LSU, I keep wondering what the heck they are looking at.
We need to focus on TCU!
I hear you, man. Just as soon as I finish these chips.
Thanks, you just made me grab a bag from the pantry.
There are worse things to grab out of the pantry, I guess. 🙂
us or the team?
If the team is depending on US being focused……OH BOY. 🙂
My ADD isn’t good for anyone
Mine isn’t ei..oh look at that chicken on TV
Who knew the FCS was this improved, huh? I mean, whew. They’re playing at the SEC’s level. That’s the best football in the nation right there meow.
Ohio state had 75 yards total offense in the 1st half, yawn
WOW!
Their front four on defense are pretty good though
So is OUrs.
I’m mildly impressed by the Buckeye defense, emphasis on the word mildly
I think they are good but they are playing a team known for low scoring games who are starting a backup QB. Mildly is about right.
Daniels commit yet?
No.
How do you know?
do you know something we don’t?
Highly likely 😉
I have a couple of hours, shoot.
I’m a good guesser.
Like this guy?
Man, I put serious thought into driving to Skiatook tonight.
You should….I don’t live there. 🙂
Or Collinsville. What’s the difference?
You don’t know the difference between a Cardinal and a Bulldog?
Nope. They both want to be Rams.
C’ville whipped Lawton Mac last night and the Dogs won so next week it’s a HW 20 rematch in the playoffs.
Luckily for all involved, they’ll probably play at Owasso.
You guys are starting awful early tonight.
awfully*
English was my worst subject in school. But hey, I excelled in AP Algebra, Geometry etc.. LOL
I am so sorry to hear about your loss! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Sorry to hear that. I’m sure he would have liked to be here to watch this right now.
My deep and sincere sympathies to you and your family.
God Bless and embrace him for eternity.
Prayers to you and yours. Trust in the Sooners.
God bless you brother, you’ve got all kinds of support here. Sooner win tonight in honor of your pops!
Sorry for your loss 47.
Sorry about your loss.
Sorry my friend but know he has the best seat in the house now watching down not only on the Sooners but you as well.!
Prayers for your family, Keep your head up.
I’m very sorry to hear it. I have you and yours in my prayers.
My sympathies go out to you and your family. God Bless.
Gonna miss this group of young me, while looking forward to knowing this new group.
https://twitter.com/ScottyWein/status/668188698492674048
No, I’m not buying this is just great MSU D. Yeah their D is playing well, but this is also ineptitude on the part of tOSU offense. They just look pitiful.
Aint’t this the danged truth!!!
https://twitter.com/OU_Football/status/668194746754424832
BOOMER!
S000NER!!
I’m Sooner born and Sooner bred, when I die, I’ll be Sooner dead!

ROTFLOL!
Pathetic!
I’m sure the CFP will take that into account… UGH
I’m betting they don’t know the difference.
Would not surprise me in the least!
I like this guy just because he said “1-AA”. Twice.
Great now we have to worry about them in the rankings also!!! SMDH!!!
???
Who?
Que?
Is this a trick question?
Football Jeopardy!
Who is Zach Sanchez?
Was it the Daily Double?
I wagered everything cause like Sanchez it was all or nothing
Sure he didn’t mean Julian Wilson?
Wilson could tackle until he hurt his shoulder
Sounds familiar.
Zach couldn’t tackle me in a phone booth and he does gamble a lot. Love the kid plays hard but, technique wise just blows my mind
I disagree about his tackling. The only complaint I have is he falls for the double move too often.
Well here is the thing on tackling he can wrap up but he is not tough enough to bring down bigger WR’s and needs help and he does bite way to often on the double move but again a Junior that’s technique!
On occasion that is true about his tackling, but not a blanket truth.
Headed to norman if anyone is going to the game
This Ohio state Michigan State game is like watching paint dry!
Which is why I’m watching the Harvard/Yale game.
That can’t be any better.
Harvard leads 38-19 with 3:26 to go. Harvard has a freshman that can fly!
I would compare to watching grass grow
Meanwhile, my high school team is blowing Dallas South Oak Cliff out in their playoff game.
35-3 with 7 minutes left in the 3rd qtr.
/ooooh mama
My Broken Arrow Tigers are set to lose to my wife’s Jenks Trojans in the title game.
Didn’t Bixby and Bartlesville play today?
Not sure. The 6A1 semis were last night.
Bixby rolled. 67-21.
I did see some B’ville buses headed South on 75 when I was coming back from Jenks today.
Yeah they played at Owasso.
Thing is, my Mavs win on Saturdays during the day, my Sooners win on Saturdays at night.
Synchronicity.
In Hawaii they play HS ball on Saturdays. Just un-American. It’s called Friday Night Lights for a reason.
Hunh.
We only play Saturdays in the playoffs…mostly.
Hawaii does the same at Aloha Stadium for playoffs. Fun time and a great value, one ticket for 2-6 games.
I chose UO/USC. Trojans down big but starting to come back.
Not saying it’d be any better, at all, but I’m quite surprised Urban hasnt gone with Cardale yet after this start..
Guess it might depend on who is the better runner in the monsoon they are playing in.
tOSU has 99 yards of offense and there is 3 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter? HOW is that impressive?
Good. Let’s remove Ezekiel Elliot from Baker Mayfield’s Heisman path.
Elliot did himself no favors today
It probably passes the blind eye test the committee is using.
Braille just reads, victory.
Haha. Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, and Ronnie Milsap are all voting members.
Wow. Sparty just screwed the pooch.
After watching some of the “special tams” play today, I’m thankfull that we can at least catch a punt.
What a gift. I guess tOSU needed something to help paper over their miserable offensive performance.
I’m a huge fan of those Michigan State helmets.
There is nothing wrong with their standard hats.
Nope. That copper look is just nice though.
I don’t mind alternate uni options but hate when teams make up color schemes. They should always stick with the team colors.
Could not agree more.
Oklahoma pre-game radio show is on.
What would the committee do with a Sparty win against the Buckeyes? Kick us in the stones even harder?
Probably move them ahead of us.
They take tOSU’s place at 3rd. We drop 2 spots for only blowing out TCU 42-0. tOSU takes our spot for managing to go over 100 yards total offense today.
They would leap us even though their loss is just as inexplicable. But they would judge msu on their wins and not ou.
Not seeing much talk on the Twitter about msu back up qb. We all know the committee is going to gloss over that this week (win or lose) while that will be a reason to knock ou/tcu
Sparty’s starter has played quite a bit
Cook has?
I’ve been in and out of the game, and havent seen him in yet…
My bad, I meant O’Connor
Waiting on the game to start is like floating on a river of molasses in the middle of winter. Come on 7pm!
BREAKING:
The committee has gotten wind that Boykin is not starting, and went ahead and dropped the frogs out of the top 25 early to “more accurately reflect our opposition.”
/s
tOSU – MSU is a defensive battle of epic proportions. Reminiscint of SEC wars of old. Impressive.
more like offensive ineptitude to me
Sorry, forgot the /s. Figured everyone would know that.
Two offenses that are pathetic.
Herbstreit even struggling to find positives for either team
Gimme a lil credit here. That was complete sarcasm.
Hey, get that SEC bias outta here! 😉
I am a converted citadel, FAU. Memphis, etc fan now!
Can anyone name the team in the SEC with the best non conference win this year?
tenneessee
Whoops, I thought you said best non conference schedule, Not win. my bad..
It’s an interesting question, answer that I think Joel klatt ought to bring up this week.
Who ever scheduled FAU. /s
Vanderbilt?
Close.
Kentucky?
Look for a team worse than those 2.
S. Carolina.
Looks like Bama is gonna put away #8 Charleston.
Serious question, someone has to have the answer.
Didn’t Bama beat Wisconsin? I woukd guess that’s the best one by a mile.
Only one that comes to mind, though I don’t really follow the s-eee-c.
Nope.
A&M
Nope
Define best NC win then, sounds subjective.
Agreed
Ok, highest current ranking
I’m done caring.
Then why u typing?
replied above, SC over NC
Sounds…irrelevant. 🙂
It is, but is it? I only know because I live in SC. I find that extremely pathetic for the widely considered “best” conference.
Reverend, we are all in the choir.
Amen, but live in their footprint for 15 years and u just feel like u gotta vent every so often.
Alabama, A&M or Missouri
A&M against ASU
SC over NC
Winner! Impressive conference resume I’d say.
Isn’t SEC the abbreviation for SECretion?
it is now
Dang, Cougars better quit sandbagging, it’s about to get away from them.
I say that and the Cougs run the kickoff back 94 yards untouched.
Say it more!
…

The “Urban Sombrero” looks nervous
Who thinks that missed FG will come back to haunt MSU?
Time to call a spade a spade. The buckeye offense is a joke. There is 6 minutes left in the game, and tOSU has racked up a grand total of 128 yards. Win or not, they need to drop a looooong way down.
“But the B1G is even better than we thought they were.” Says the committee
Unfortunately, the committee will see a hard fought OhSt loss, move MSU to #4, OhSt to #5, & bump the whole Big 12 down a spot.
I’m starting to think MSU/OhSt goes to OT which would be terrible for OU.
Right, “a hard-fought defensive battle between two blue-collar, lunch pail carrying storied programs in harsh weather conditions blah, blah, blah…
Did they mention the weather much last week for OU Baylor?
If They lose they will drop to 5 and MSU will shoot like a rocket to 3…
Believe me folks….I have no illusions about this committee really punishing the buckeyes. I’m just pointing out what SHOULD happen in a FAIR world. You know….just for laughs.
At that point, i believe we become cheerleaders for the Fighhtin’ Harbaughs next week.
Need a MSU pick 6…
Sparty with momentum and good field position late in the 4th, look out!
just need FG range here
Already missed 1. I really want Sparty to win but believe it would work out bad for OU.
nah, tOSU exposed by an injury riddled Sparty
Love how they say the reason Bama is ranked so high after a lose if because of how they are playing now, yet the Buckeyes have been horrible all season barely squeaking out wins and are in the top 4. There are more deserving teams. Let’s go Spartans!
How about this Ohio st D… Contain bosa and force others to make plays… Average
Loving this Scott kid for MSU. Keep pounding the rock.
With Cook healthy, no contest
1st down
Tick tock and between the uprights .. W
OSU in jeopardy YES!
Been overrated all year and they go up against a team that has depth and talent at the LOS and they can’t slow down the run. Bye OSU.
Pucker time
looks like the Bama crowd
BOOMER!
SOONER!
My question is why does Alabama get a pass….they are not even considered a one loss team. The SEC is not good this year!
Careful with talk like that……the committee might drop the entire B12 10 spots……just for blasphemy
Rush toward right hash for wind strategy, interesting
Now there talking about MSU if they win going to the playoff…
yeah, class act Urban, throw your snot rag on the ground, someone will pick that up for you, no problem
” …my Bologna has a second name it’s… “
OSU lost
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Best kicker celebration all year! haha
The reverse sprinkler
OK first and foremost we still have to win 2 and I will say this even with a tOSU loss they probably won’t punish them much 🙁 but, like Stoops said take care of it week to week and do what they can and let the rest play out. That’s all we can do!
shades of uwe v…………
MSU by 3.
Geigers dance was funny
Glad for a Sparty win but nervous about the rankings now.
Don’t expect anything different with their trends.
If Oregon were better this year I might feel the same but…
Doesn’t change much for us, but glad for them
It can’t be bad for us. A team in the top 4 lost with no time left in the year to climb back in. Now, MSU has a clear shot themselves, but for now, one of the 4 is out. As long as OU keeps winning we’ll have a good argument, especially if OSU stays undefeated and we beat them at Stillwater.
This is why I’m not as excited for that loss. That will push up another Big 10 team and tOSU won’t move far.
But they’ll be behind both OU and OSU if we both win. Iowa will move up, and MSU will be about 6 or 7, with a chance….tOSU will be about 8 or 9.
That’s old AP ranking logic. Don’t put it past the committee to rank OhSt & MSU in the top 6, moving the Big 12 down.
That would be unjust.
Maybe so but does that really matter with this committee.
Like what they did to TCU last year?
So a team can win with their backup QB. Don’t downplay any win!
BOOMER
THIS! The team needs to be focused…
Our team is better than those two.
And
Tcu is going to get the knocked th f out
BOOM!!
No it just means Michigan state will get credit for 3 wins today.
Michigan St will be #3 next week for beating an untested team.
Nah, I’m guessing #6, as long as the Oklahoma teams take care of business tonight.
They’re jumping ou. Ou might fall actually
Depends on how convincing we look I suppose. I’m not sure MSU jumps us though.. tOSU had been asking for this all year basically.
Yeah but the committee has been ignoring that. They think the big 10 plays winning football. The truth is their offenses aren’t dynamic.
Lol….and the kicker gets to cruise around the field like he just won the whole game single-handedly. Gotta love it 🙂
Yes! Down goes tOSU!
Still hope Meechigan beats tOSU next week. That will hrlp to dent the image of the Big 10 a little. I think the Big 10 winner is in, no matter what. Have to jope the can’t sneak 2 in.
Good for a top five to lose, we have a Heisman candidate to carry weight with the committee
Hope Harbaugh runs the Suckeyes out of the big house.
Happy to see tOSU lose but I fully expect Meatchicken St. to just take their spot in the rankings.
Yep. Alvarez will do his best to ensure that. Long and Alvarez are giving each other hand jobs for favors.
Either BC or Stanford needs to take care of ND now.
Stanford is gooood
What makes you say that?
That’s what it really comes down to. If OU and ND end with the same record, then ND deserves to be ranked ahead of us. Same record but they beat the team we lost to. It’d suck, but it’d be fair.
There is an argument to put us ahead of ND though, we would be conf champ, ND would not
I respectfully disagree with you. They couldn’t even win their own conference acc. Basically they are in the ACC. They would not be in the ACC Championship. If he wins out they’re big 12 champs.
Committee, please tell me how awesome tOSU is this year…
Losing at home to a backup QB good.
Uh… TCU starting a backup on the road tonight- focus.
Exactly. Let’s do this. OL knock people on their ass.
TCU is a bit smallish on D, Perine should punish
They actually lost to TWO backup QBs.
We have to take care of business…but hey Jeff Long, “Yeah I’ve seen Ohio St play…”
Probably be bumped up to #2 next week after that loss. Lol
Time to destroy the Horny Toads!!
Stomp’em…with glee.

Almost time for a good old fashioned game of leap frog.
New prediction:
Michigan also hands tOSU their a$$ next week. Following this, the committee determines that this is just further proof that the B1G is a monster football league and rockets both MSU and Michigan into the top 4, bumping out ND. tOSU and Iowa take the #5 and #6 spots respectively, while the entire B12 are dropped 3 spots a piece…..just for the hell of it.
then espin inks a new deal with the Big and on we go

OUr boys could win this game by 60 and still see Sparty jump them this week… how is a 12 person committee supposed to make more sense than the BCS again?
I think the polls will correct themselves next week if we just take care of our own business. Consensus seemed to be that the committee was wrong from what I read/watched.

He was on the list as a guest this weekend. Many just thought he would go to Stilly to watch the OSU-Baylor game, he is thought to be an OSU lean by what I have heard! But, he would be a nice addition to the class if he should choose OU!

Is that where he’s giving the speech about being sent to East Popcorn State?
Big guy,

Sooners and fans need to put on an equally big show.
Dude will be a force in the middle of anyone’s defense.
Going to or already at the game? BE LOUD!!!
Jump around!!!
Domers signature win of the year USC got whupped by the Ducks.
Right now their signature win in the eyes of the committee against OU is beating the same Texas team we lost too.
That and their loss to Clemson.
Touche’
Domers will lose one of their final two
Game thread for OU?
patience grasshopper
Anyone at the game know for certain if Bob is out there with Sterling for Senior Day?
Baylor on 15 already.
Coleman didnt do that against us.
Damn right.
7-0 Baylor.
Think if Baylor CRUSHES O-state, that will work the same as the aggies winning? little brother may have been caught looking ahead…
Lets go Sooners! Take no one lightly, demoralize everyone equally!
Boomer!
Sooner!
Sooner! Dont know which team I dislike more, bears or pokes.
Do we still need pukes to be undefeated?
I am nervous need a drink.
I started drinking about a half hour ago. Now I am laughing about how fast Baylor just scored on OSU. We need the Cowboys to win though.
I thought we need them, but since OSU lost…
Okie State. And Baylor just recovered a fumble and returned it for a TD. Under review though.
OSU is Ohio St.
tOSU= Ohio State.
Allowed.
This ND/BC being on the same sideline is the strangest thing I’ve ever seen
I blinked and Baylor scored!
Up two scores…WOW.
Player was down I think.
Yep, should be coming back
I sure thought he got it out of there in time, but def wasnt a td either way..
Baylor scored! again. Not a TD but a fumble recovery in my view. Maybe not a fumble.
Baylor ball, but that is not td…
Well now, sure thought that baylor dude got that out in time..
How in the heck did the refs miss the Baylor guy rolling on the turf, and give him 6?
Big 12 ref training camp.
Blinders are included
Shoot. Stevie and Ray Charles saw that one. And Ray’s been gone a while.
I would agree wholeheartedly, had the guy not made contact with 50% of his body. Shouldn’t be any need to review that.
“They’re a second half team”… Can’t trust the Pokes
If Okie lite doesn’t come to play first half, they will be toast by second half.
Okie State’s Achilles is that they don’t have much of a run game. Just load the box, get pressure and make Rudolph beat you with his arm.
and they’re ugly
13 minutes!
Time for another drink.
Kickoff is actually 7:15
what if little brother gets their asses handed to them tonight… ?
screwy circumstances
Gives the committee reason to downplay all the games.
did I say “if”? sorry
BU would jump which would make us look good but next week would look more like this week. Solid game but nothing special. Could move us to #5 though.
Mentioned that circumstance below…
That Stidham has one damn accurate Deep Ball. Damn.
If, I think it is on
Then, little brother gets whipped 2 weeks in a row.
Yea, I’ll still be happy as long as we take care of business..
Stupid pokes.
Baylor td
Now its 14-0 Baylor
Yeah, but that Okie lite defense smothered in awesome sauce…
Yeah, the announcers said, Baylor came to play unlike last week… WHAT??? They played HARD last week. They just were not the best team on the field!
really ugly unis……..check out nd
What channel? Couldn’t find it.
NBC
Sports Network lol I had no clue that existed…
I stand corrected.
nbcsn
Nbc sports network… I didn’t know it was a thing
Same. Just found it.
Hope they look like garbage against a pretty good BC defense and drop below us after we blow out TCU. Could happen if 2 of the top 6 fall today.
Fingers crossed. BC has a history of knocking off overhyped ND teams.
BC’s offense is as bad as it’s defense is good. I could see ND winning a snoozer 10-6 or some such.
Arky throwing the ball like Bobby Petrino still works there.
Well if Baylor kicks their ass it just makes OUr win more impressive? I don’t even know anymore lol.
Yes. We would have the best victory out all CFB teams…
We need to play serious.
Boykin definitely out. Not even dressing I dont think.
Focus. A back up beat the buckeyes.
Dude, I’ve been preaching focus all week, and all day. lol
Just making an observation. But at least we dont have to have the “Boykin may come in crap,” in our head at all now. Its time to treat Foster just like Stidham…
Poor pukes….already getting embarrassed
If we win out and still no Big XII team makes the playoffs I’m starting a petition to leave the conference
I think if we win the whole thing we should start a petition to add the 2015 and 1915 national championships to OUr resume.
I mean it worked for Bama
OUr claim to that title is much stronger than the teams that claim it. I seriously think the university should claim that one as the 1st of 8. Doing so on the 100yr anniversary following another title would be a nice touch.
it’s just so difficult for me to cheer on anything wearing orange…
Agree, but it’s our best shot.
i know
anyoneave a stream h
Just checked the baylor-pokes game. Any team that wears such an awful, gawdy uniform like the pokes deserves to lose before they leave the dressing room.
You should revise that statement, they deserve to be BEAT before leaving the dressing room, they deserve to be BEAT on the way back in too.
No kidding. Looking like that, they’ve already lost, regardless the score of the game.
Thread up.
Honestly, I would feel better about this game if Boykin were playing. I’m more concerned with making sure our players don’t overlook or let up on the toads than I am with how well the toads actually play.
And pukes are on the board
Pokie state back in it now.
Baylor has 3 qb better than Texass starters
Oh no. Baker and Perine?
