Sorry folks, we’ve all been busy this weekend.
You all know by now that OU’s 2018 QB commit has flipped to Texas.

I spoke with Rising’s father a few minutes ago and he re-emphasized what Cam included his note, namely, that the “energy at Texas was just different”. His father added, “it (Texas) felt like a WWE event. The coaches are young and everything feels competitive and they’re excited. And Cam just loves Herman. He connected with a Herman in a way he didn’t connect with any other head coach”.
I can tell you that in previous conversations with Rising’s father, it’s clear that part of his initial hesitation about OU was Norman. We come across some players who really prefer Norman over Austin because it seems to feel, to some, more “collegiate”. And some folks prefer the big city vibe in Austin.
Another factor Rising’s father mentioned was the air of uncertainty around Lincoln Riley and whether he will remain at OU for much longer.
And finally, the fact that OU really has a wealth of quarterback talent on campus makes Texas a more attractive option from a depth chart standpoint.
