OU has received a commitment from Houston (Dekaney HS) ATH, Adrian Hardy. Hardy visited this past weekend. We will have more later.

UPDATE (4:09 pm): Wanted to offer up a few notes on Adrian Hardy.
– I checked with some sources and was told that Hardy was being recruited by OU as an athlete, meaning he will be used wherever they feel he flourishes once he gets on campus. – (Brandon)
– Also here are Alex’s notes from a recent conversation with Hardy along with his film notes:
Hardy told me that he was in touch with Bob Stoops, Lincoln Riley and Cale Gundy and that he was being recruited as an athlete.
Watching Hardy’s highlights there is a lot to like. He has a big, athletic body with impressive lateral movement and vision. Love his ability to make defenders miss in the open field and the small space, quick twitch ability that also allows him to be tough to tackle one-on-one. Has great feet, balance, and body control you don’t normally see from such a big kid. Has a nice initial burst and, at times, shows the speed to run away from defenders on film. That said, he does seem to be lacking that true extra gear. Good, but not great speed. You also have love the fact he plays QB in a spread system, which means he would most likely have at least somewhat of an understanding for the receiver position in Riley’s offense – how to find windows, the route tree, etc. – (Alex)
– This is a special football player. As Alex said above, he doesn’t have elite speed but he has elite lateral movement and perhaps most importantly instincts. This is the kind of player TCU would normally recruit to play safety in their 4-2-5. They are notorious for finding big athletic running QBs and switching them play that defensive spot. Those kind of guys, for various, reasons have the ability to give you a run stopping in the box type safety presence and a cover guy. They are also required to make the calls and coaches love guys who have built the trust of their HS coaches which is evidenced by the fact that they handle the ball. I’m sure the offensive guys will fight for Hardy but I’m hoping he ends up on the defensive side of the ball. – (Super K)

Boom!
Like fishing in the Gulf, keep Houston alive!
Where’s Denzel?
Boom! Finally some great news stemming from the weekend!
I don’t know, but this could be a huge statement commitment by Mr. Hardy. With all of the events of the past couple of days, this commtment seems bigger to me than just a great athlete and player commiting to our beloved Sooners. I hope people can see the positive in a young man understanding that a few awful idiots don’t represent a whole community. I also hope people see the reactions by so many, including so many in leadership positions, in the University family as more representative of what kind of people are at OU. BOOM!!
True. The fact a player committed less than 24 hours after the story went viral is great.
It merely highlights someone with an ability to logically think and not be completely overwhelmed by emotion is able to discern what is in his best interests. Only a few can meet this test. Hardy obviously can. Time to go to sleep. I guess the sky is not falling.
Says a lot about this kid.
No Denzel gif?
Holla!
Plays QB and WR?
WR
QB in high school & WR at OU.
But, but…..I thought this SAE thing was going to kill recruiting, and hang over our heads for months is not years?
Nice get for the OU staff and program. Kid looks like quite an athlete.
zero stars on rivals and no profile on scout or 247 ……
*Enters conversation to inject negativity* No way!
cpearc…………just the way it is…maybe the kid is a true ‘diamond in the rough’…….
That’s the most positive comment I’ve seen you make on this site. I’ll take what I can get.

whorn troll, please ignore.
Yes, yes, I know. I can’t resist the snarky comments.

so he does have a profile….thanks Malicong………..
Perhaps he’s not ranked because he’s been a QB his whole HS career, not a WR as he is being recruited for. Oh, BTW, how did that prediction that KU would kill us last Saturday work out for you?
Kid kinda reminds me of Scooba…
Added his film for those interested
Was just watching it before you posted. One word. Elusive.
The young man sure knows how to run through trash. Throw a tunnel screen to this boy and watch him take it to the house. I like him a lot as a future WR.
It ain’t a Boom unless Denzel says so!

There it is
This kid is as elusive as they come. Good vision, balance, tremendous cutback ability. Would be interested to see his 40 time. He isn’t slow, but didn’t seem to have top end speed. I could see him being a incredible KR/PR. Didn’t see anything as WR on the film so not sure of his route running or hands.
If I was a recruit, I would be impressed at the decisive, vocal manner. All the media outlets have portrayed the reaction of DanB and Stoops as being admirable. If anything, this should help land recruits
His running style reminds me of Justin Brown.
Will he be our next Woolfolk. I remember both sides wanted him. His first run reminded me of a DB running for a pic 6. Unreal quicks for a tall guy. Even though the offense will get him, I would love to see him a S like one of my favorite – Brodney Pool.
BOOM! Nice to have some good news.
Kinda excited about this cat
I’m kinda excited by your profile pic. Nice t-shirt.
WELCOME aboard! We look forward to you signing up and more so to your arrival in Norman!
great pick up!
Awesome pick up! Great timing. Thanx for the thorough evaluation. Always like that about this site. My football IQ has increased greatly since coming to TFB.
Welcome to the Sooner Family, Adrian. Hope your time here is long & filled with blessings and success!
He’s 2016?
I’m so glad we got a good commitment so soon after that horrific publicity. This kind of kid reminds me of how Switzer recruited. Find the athletes, then find a place for them. Kid is very elusive, I could see the coaches all wanting him in there group.
Adrian makes me think of a young version of Nick Marshall.
Welcome to Sooner Nation!
#boom
Love starting my AM with a ‘BOOM’.
His scrambling ability reminds me of a slower RG3
Might be able to run some Wildcat, as well as WR. He won’t be able to get away with that cut up into the middle as easily on the next level though. As others have already said, he looks like he could do some damage on middle screens and such.
Know some people around the area. This kid has run a 4.3 mid on multiple occasions in the 40. Low 21 on the 200 plenty fast.
