The Sooners picked up a commitment from 2019 JUCO defensive lineman LaRon Stokes following his official visit to Norman.

Stokes had previously visited Oregon and Oklahoma State but in the end, the Sooners were the choice.

Laron is every bit of the 6’4″ he is listed at and will come in and compete for playing time as a pass rusher the moment he steps onto campus.

I asked him the main reason why the Sooners were his choice, and he said “Out of all three of my visits, this one just felt like home. There is just a genuine family feeling here in Norman”.

With his commitment, the Sooners will look to close out their defensive line recruiting class by trying to secure commitments from both Marcus Stripling and David Ugwoegbu.
