Boom News! | ’27 RB Keldrid Ben Commits to Oklahoma!
Posted on: December 1, 2025
The Sooners keep on rolling in the ’27 class as running back Keldrid Ben, out of Montgomery, Texas, has announced his commitment to Oklahoma!
Ben brings a strong physical profile and a well-rounded skill set that make him an intriguing collegiate running back prospect. At roughly 5’11” and 200–205 pounds, he has the frame to withstand a steady workload, and his film reflects a back with legitimate burst and balance.
On the field, Ben runs with a confident, downhill style. He shows impressive vision pressing the line of scrimmage and has the short-area quickness to slide through tight creases. His sturdy lower body allows him to run through contact and collect hidden yardage, making him reliable even when blocking isn’t perfect. While not a pure burner, he accelerates quickly, giving him the ability to create explosive plays when he hits open grass.
He also offers versatility as a receiver. He catches the ball naturally on swings and screens and shows encouraging instincts in space. His pass protection technique is still developing, but with his size and physicality, he should progress quickly with collegiate coaching.
His recruitment took a major turn after his visit to Norman for the Oklahoma vs. LSU game, where the atmosphere and staff connection solidified his decision. Shortly after that trip, Ben committed to Oklahoma, giving the Sooners a tough, well-rounded back with early-playing-time potential.
His combination of size, athletic upside, vision, and physicality makes him a strong fit for Oklahoma’s offense and a prospect with a clear path to becoming an every-down collegiate running back.
