Boom News! | ’27 OL Isaac Coughran Commits to Oklahoma!
Posted on: March 31, 2026
Boom. The number one recruiting class in 2027 just added its 20th member.
The first thing Oklahoma is getting in Isaac Coughran isn’t a finished product it’s a foundation.
At Katy High School in Texas, Coughran took an unconventional path, moving from defensive line to the offensive side. That transition still defines how he plays physical, aggressive, and eager to finish. At a program like Katy, he didn’t just adjust he earned all district honors and became a team captain, a sign of both rapid development and trust.
For Oklahoma, that’s where the appeal started.
Coughran checks the physical boxes right away at about 6 foot 4 and 295 to 300 pounds with a strong, college ready frame built for the interior. He projects best at guard but has the flexibility to develop at center, giving OU another versatile piece to shape in the trenches.
His commitment isn’t about stepping in right away. It is about what he becomes.
It means Oklahoma is continuing to bet on development, stacking high upside linemen who can be molded over time into reliable starters. It would also strengthen ties to a powerhouse like Katy, reinforcing a pipeline into one of Texas’ most respected programs.
Most importantly, it adds another tone setter to the room.
Coughran brings a defensive mentality to the offensive line, physical, relentless, and tough to move. The technique will come with time. That edge is already there.
And for Oklahoma, that’s exactly the kind of bet worth making.
