Fresh off their win against LSU, the Sooners stay hot on the 2027 recruiting trail as EDGE Krew Jones has announced his pledge to the University of Oklahoma!

Jones has quickly emerged as one of the most promising defensive prospects in the 2027 recruiting class, and his rise has been driven by a rare combination of size, athleticism, and playmaking ability. The Ridgeline High School (Utah) standout is already regarded as the state’s top prospect and a national top-EDGE recruit, drawing more than two dozen Power-5 offers from programs such as Ohio State, Oklahoma, USC, Oregon, Texas, and BYU.

At roughly 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, Jones brings the length and frame colleges covet on the edge, and his sophomore-season production showed why he’s so highly pursued. He posted 93 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, and 6 forced fumbles while also contributing as a pass catcher on offense—evidence of his athleticism and versatility. His burst off the line, fluid movement skills, and high-motor play style have made him a disruptive defender and a player capable of impacting games in multiple phases.

Jones is still growing into his body and will need to add strength to reach his full potential, but his upside is significant. With elite athletic traits, a proven playmaking résumé, and the frame to develop into a true college-level EDGE, he projects as a future difference-maker at the next level and one of the most intriguing young defenders in the country.
