The Sooners stay hot in the ’27 class as they land highly coveted cornerback Mikhail McCreary (6’1 170) out of San Antonio, Texas.
In his sophomore year, McCreary logged 46 tackles, 9 pass breakups, and 3 interceptions, which included one returned for a touchdown. This is strong production for underclassman play in a competitive Texas district. He was also named District 27-6A Defensive Newcomer of the Year.
At 6’1, he has a desirable height for a cornerback, which gives him matchup leverage against taller receivers. McCreary also participates in track & field, showing his speed in sprint events, such as a freshman year time of 11.49 in the 100m and 23.20 in the 200m.
He has attracted attention from many major programs. McCreary is rising fast. Because he is just early in his junior year, there is plenty of room for physical and technical growth.
