The Sooners picked up another big in-state win on the recruiting trail as 2027 Mustang, OK, athlete Gabriel Osborne (6’2 180) announced his commitment to the University of Oklahoma.
Osborne, who projects as a defensive back (corner) at OU, has quickly become one of the more exciting young defensive prospects in the state. With his combination of speed, instincts, and physicality, he fits exactly what Oklahoma is looking for in the secondary moving forward.
Sources indicate the Sooners made Osborne a priority early in the process under Jay Valai and since his departure, LaMar Morgaan has picked things up and OU has been emphasizing how his versatility and playmaking ability could thrive in Oklahoma’s defense. That message clearly resonated with the Mustang standout.
Keeping top in-state talent home is always a priority in Norman, and Osborne represents another big step in that direction for the 2027 class.
