Boom News! | ’26 WR Brayden Allen Commits to Oklahoma!

The Sooners add another nice piece to the 2026 class as wide receiver Brayden Allen (6’1 170) out of Lafayette, Louisiana, has flipped his commitment from Tulane to Oklahoma!

When you talk about playmakers in Louisiana’s 2026 class, Lafayette Christian Academy’s Brayden Allen has to be near the top of the list. At 6-1, 175 pounds, Allen has already proven he can be a go-to weapon, hauling in 55 catches for 1,155 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior. That’s more than 21 yards per reception. Those are numbers that jump off the page and confirm what you see on film: a receiver who can change a game in one snap.

Allen’s athleticism shows up in more than just highlight-reel catches. He’s a competitor who doesn’t shy away from contact, recording tackles on special teams and even lining up on defense when needed. That versatility makes him a safe bet to get on the field early at the next level.

Programs across the country took notice. While he gave his commitment to Tulane this summer, the likes of Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Texas Tech and Colorado continued to push for a flip. That tells you a lot about what you need to know.

At the college level, he’ll need to handle press coverage, refine his route tree, and prove he can win in traffic against bigger, stronger defenders. If he checks those boxes, his ceiling is high.

Bottom line: Brayden Allen is a dynamic deep threat with the production and upside to develop into a high-impact college receiver. In my opinion, Oklahoma is getting a steal as they will be adding one of Louisiana’s most dangerous pass-catchers.

I like this addition a lot for Emmett Jones and the Sooners offense.
