The Sooners have landed the verbal pledge from one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 class as Jaden O’Neal has announced his commitment to Oklahoma!
Seth Littrell is showing that he has the chops to keep OU atop the podium as QBU as he lands his first quarterback commitment as the offensive coordinator/QB coach at Oklahoma.
This commitment should come as no surprise to the community as back on June 1st I wrote:
“Spoke to a source this afternoon who told me that earlier today O’Neal said OU is “Number one, without question”.
He already holds a couple dozen offers from power programs around the country and if things check out for both OU and O’Neal, it would not be shocking to see this one come together.”
O’Neal, out of Harbor City, CA, (6’3″ 200), displays impressive throwing mechanics, accuracy, and arm strength.
He was heavily pursued by Ohio State, Miami, Florida State, and Washington as well as Oklahoma.
O’Neal has the prototypical QB measurements you are seeking. The ball jumps out of his hand and he already has very good touch on his deep balls. He is remarkably accurate for a QB his age and he has the ability to move around in the pocket while also being able to create yardage with his legs.
I believe he will be one of the top 5 quarterbacks in his class when all is said and done (so long as he does the circuit that is necessary for the services these days).
Really nice job by Littrell to develop the relationship needed to pick up the commitment from O’Neal.
O’Neal joins RB Jonathan Hatton and TE Ryder Mix as the foundation for the ’26 class.
