Boom News! | ’26 Linebacker Kristan Moore Commits to Oklahoma!
Posted on: December 1, 2025
The Sooners add another piece to their 2026 recruiting class as Kristan Moore, out of Selma, Alabama, has announced his pledge to the University of Oklahoma!
He was in town for an official visit this weekend, and the former North Alabama commit saw enough to know that Norman, Oklahoma, was the place for him to begin his collegiate career!
Moore projects as an intriguing developmental prospect at linebacker, offering the frame, competitiveness, and early recruiting attention that suggest real college-level upside. Standing around 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, he already fits comfortably within the physical profile coaches look for in modern off-ball linebackers. His build gives him room to add strength without sacrificing mobility, making him a candidate for roles that require range, tackling in space, and the ability to play both downhill and laterally.
Moore has drawn interest from several programs, a sign that coaches see raw tools worth investing in. His size and athletic profile point toward a player who could develop into a versatile defender, one capable of contributing on special teams early while refining the instincts and physicality needed to handle every-down responsibilities. What remains unknown at this stage are the finer details: verified speed, agility numbers, and consistent high-school production data. Those factors often separate solid prospects from high-ceiling ones, and they will play a major role in determining how quickly Moore adapts to the speed and physicality of the college game.
If he adds strength, sharpens his ability to diagnose plays, and becomes more consistent in coverage, Moore has the tools to grow into a dependable contributor and potentially a starter in the right system. His upside is rooted in his frame, athletic potential, and developmental runway, elements that, with proper coaching and work ethic, could translate into a productive collegiate career.
Sounds like a perfect project for Brent Venables and Nate Dreiling as they look to restock their linebacker room!
Moore is the Sooners 26th commitment in the class!
