The Sooners pick up their first commitment from their recruiting weekend as ’26 EDGE Matthew Nelson (6’5 215) out of Bryant, Arkansas, has announced his commitment to the University of Oklahoma!

Nelson is noted for his athleticism and potential as an edge rusher. He is currently an unrated recruit according to some scouting services, but his recruitment has gained traction, particularly with the Oklahoma offer.
Nelson received an offer from the Sooners in May and has made both unofficial and official visits to their campus in Norman.
His size and speed make him a promising developmental prospect for Oklahoma and he is the first of the ‘Nagy era’ offers to make a commitment.
The TFB community should not be the slightest bit surprised at this commitment as he was a guy we have talked about as likely to be in the class sine he was offered.
