DeMarco Murray and the Sooners get their guy as ’25 running back Tory Blaylock has announced his verbal commitment to Oklahoma!
Blaylock (5’11 190) out of humble, Texas (Atascocita) chose the Sooners out of a final six of Ohio State, Texas, Oregon, Tennessee, and Alabama.
He holds close to four dozen offers from basically every power program across the country.
This was not a case of settling, this is a case of DeMarco Murray once again reeling in one of the most highly coveted running backs in the class as he follows up the pledge from Taylor Tatum last cycle and pulls in the speedy Blaylock.
Just last week, Blaylock and his track teammates set a National High School Record as Atascocita went 38.92 seconds for the fastest high school 4x100m relay ever.
The commitment from Blaylock should come as no surprise to the community as we have had him leaning to OU since January.
Quick little story, following his visit back in January, I reported HERE that Blaylock told me:
“Seeing the team work! I like the way those guys work hard and compete. I’m a competitor and a hard worker and that’s something I would want to be part of.”
That was not the original quote actually…the original quote was missing the word ‘would’…I had to go back and ask him if he would prefer if I added the word ‘would’ to the quote so as not to give up his game.
Blaylock is a complete running back and he has NFL pedigree as his father played in the NFL as a running back from 2001 to 2007. He also has two brothers who are playing college ball.
Really nice pickup for Murray and Oklahoma. Yamaha indeed.
