The Sooners pick up a welcomed addition to the ’24 class as in state running back Xavier Robinson (6’2 220) out of Oklahoma City (Carl Albert) has announced his pledge to DeMarco Murray and the University of Oklahoma!
Robinson holds more than a dozen offers which includes offers from Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt, Colorado and Iowa State. The Cyclones were in the final two with the Sooners.
In 2022 Robinson had a monster year for Carl Albert as he ran for 2,594 yards while averaging 9.4 yards per carry and he scored 39 touchdowns. That is a pretty sick stat line if you ask me.
He is the first running back to commit in the class and the Sooners are still pursuing Taylor Tatum and Caden Durham as well.
Robinson will bring a unique skill set to the Sooners offense as he is a bigger back than most of the guys already in the stable. He has plenty of speed to go with his size and I think he is a great fit in Jeff Lebby’s offense as he can serve as the thunder to the other backs lightning.
Nice addition for Oklahoma!
