Boom News! | ’24 Running Back Taylor Tatum Commits to Oklahoma!

The Sooners picked up a huge commitment as the number one composite running back in the class of ’24, Taylor Tatum, has announced his pledge to Oklahoma!!

Tatum made his way back to Norman for an official visit to the ChampU BBQ weekend and the Sooners hit one out of the park.

OU sold Tatum on the advantages of being a two-sport star at OU and used the Kyler Murray pitch to perfection.

Coming into the visit, OU was trailing USC. We believe Tatum had silently committed to the Trojans when he visited earlier in the summer and DeMarco Murray and staff were able to pull off an impressive come-from-behind win to earn his verbal commitment!

Tatum holds offers from basically every major program in the country and he was a priority target for Oklahoma who flew under the radar for most of the cycle. Prior to his visit for the BBQ, he was last in Norman during the ’22 season.

DeMarco Murray kept plugging along and made a great connection with Tatum and his family and OU baseball coach Skip Johnson and his staff really laid out a tremendous vision for the two-sport stud which helped OU seal the deal!

Tatum is the composite number one ranked back in the country this cycle. He joins Xaver Robinson in the ’24 running back class for coach DeMarco Murray.

It was a massive win for the Sooners and the fact that it came at the expense of the Trojans…well that just makes it a little sweeter for the OU fans!
