The Sooners added a big piece to the ’23 class as ’23 ATH Erik McCarty has committed to Brent Venables and Oklahoma!
McCarty (6’2 180) out of Mcalester, OK, was offered by the Sooners new staff back on December 30th and from that point on it felt as if it was a matter of ‘When’ not ‘If’.
TCU, Nebraska, and Baylor are some of the other offers that McCarty holds.
Brent Venables has clearly displayed his fondness of ‘Football Players’ and McCarty is exactly that by every definition. McCarty is a guy who could play multiple positions at the collegiate level on both sides of the ball.
Nice pickup for the ‘23 class and I think you will see him on the defensive side of the ball, likely at safety when he starts his career in Norman.
