The Sooners added another elite piece to their ‘ChampU22’ class today as wide receiver Tayln Shettron, out of Edmond Oklahoma, has committed to Lincoln Riley and the Sooners.
The 6’3″ 185 lb Shettron already holds over a dozen offers from around the country including offers from Notre Dame, Texas, Auburn Florida State and Miami.
He joins LB Kobie McKinzie, WR Jordan Hudson and WR Luther Burden in the class.
We mentioned that the wide receiver spots in the 22 class were going to be filling up quickly and, at this point, it looks as though there is likely one spot (two at most) left at WR in the class.
Shettron is a guy who shows good ability to use his size advantage to his benefit and is adept at high pointing the ball already despite his young age. He also shows strong hands and has the speed to pull away from defenders after making the reception.
The Sooners are playing from a position of tremendous strength in regards to recruiting at WR for 2022 and it will come as no surprise that the receiver portion of the class could very well be filled before we even get to signing day for the ’21 class.
Really nice addition for Oklahoma here.
