The Sooners added a big-time commit to the 2022 class today as Jordan Hudson (6’1″ 180) out of Garland, TX has announced his verbal pledge to Oklahoma!
While Hudson is listed as an Athlete, it is our understanding that he would like to play wide receiver in college. K had a source who mentioned Hudson reminds him of a young Dez Bryant and James has heard from some who view Hudson as a ‘Bigger Mark Clayton’.
Hudson picked up his OU offer back in February while in Norman for an unofficial junior day visit.
He chose the Sooners while holding offers from some of the top programs in the country including Alabama, LSU, Oregon, USC, Auburn, and Texas to name a few.
Our guy Darius had this quick breakdown of Hudson in his Top 50 for 2022 write up in June:
Jordan Hudson ATH 6’0 175 Garland HS
Analysis: Hudson is one of a few guys on this list that has the ability to be an impact player at the next level on either side of the ball. As a Wide Receiver, Hudson is a playmaker that shows natural hands and the ability to snap off sharp cuts, unlike most human beings. He’s a threat to take it to the house every time he touches it. Defensively, he could realistically play any position in the Secondary, but would likely be best utilized at Safety where he can play Center Field. He reminds me of Oklahoma State’s Tylan Wallace.
Recruitment Status: Hudson could end up being a package deal with teammate Chace Biddle.
Stats: 10-6A Offensive Newcomer of the Year
Highlights: (vs. Sachse HS) Jordan Hudson
Hudson joins elite 2022 linebacker Kobie McKinzie as the founding members of the Sooners ’22 class!
