The Sooners added to their already deep 2021 wide receiver class as Jalil Farooq, out of Upper Marlboro, MD has committed to Oklahoma!
The 6’1″ 200 lb pass-catcher chose the Sooners over home-state team Maryland, Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State.
Farooq joins quarterback Caleb Williams, DB Damond Harmon, and DL Kelvin Gilliam in sort of an east coast blitz heading to Norman as Oklahoma continues to put in work in the DMV area after successfully adding Joseph Wete, Aaryn Parks and Anton Harrison in recent classes to name a few.
He made his way to Norman this summer for the self guided event which was put on by Caleb Williams and his family after previously silently committing to the Sooners. Riley sent out the ‘Eyes’ for Farooq back on July 2nd.
Farooq is a guy who has enough speed to get behind the defense and on film he appears to be a strong route runner.
Jalil joins Cody Jackson and Mario Williams in one of the best wide receiver classes in the country this cycle.
Really a nice addition to the program and Dennis Simmons just continues to stock his shelves in the wide receiver room!
