BOOM News! | 2021 QB Brock Vandagriff Commits To Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Sooners have landed the number one recruit (Rivals) in the country for the 2021 cycle as Quarterback Brock Vandagriff out of Bogart, Georgia has verbally committed to Head Coach Lincoln Riley.

Lincoln Riley went down to Georgia and pulled Vandagriff out of the Dawgs backyard (Bogart is about 15 minutes from Athens) and held off 20 other major programs for the verbal commitment including Florida, Clemson, and Auburn who were all heavily involved in his recruitment.

The 6’2.5″ 200 lb quarterback joins wide receiver Cody Jackson as the foundation for the 2021 class which is off to a tremendous start for the Sooners.

Vandagriff visited Norman twice as he made his way to Norman in April and followed it up with a trip back to town in June where he camped and threw at the Sooners Elite Camp.

While at the camp in June, it became clear that OU and Brock were more of a ‘when’ rather than an ‘if’ situation as the signal caller and the head coach formed a tremendous bond and the fit was obvious to all parties.

Vandagriff has the prototypical measurements of a projected high round draft choice at quarterback and his film shows the ability to make all the big time throws. He obviously has the ability to stand in the pocket and deliver accurate high-velocity passes and also flashes the athletic ability and frame to tuck the ball and make things happen with his athletic abilities in the ground.

Super K will have more on the number one player and now Sooner commit in the near future following his trip down to Georgia to produce his commitment video.

In the meantime, get excited Sooner Nation, it is not often that you land the number one recruit in the country so savor the moment!
