Mukes has been on Sooner Nations radar since he unofficially visited Norman back in January.

He picked up an OU offer on March 24th and he did not wait long to make the call for the Sooners. If you have been reading the board, you may have figured out this was a matter of ‘when’ not ‘if’.

Mukes said “I’ve always wanted to go there and I like being around the coaches. There was no point in wasting time”.

His length and athleticism caught the attention of Sooners defensive coordinator Alex Grinch and cornerback coach Roy Manning and he will give Oklahoma a lot of options as to where to deploy him. While he is listed as a corner, his versatility would allow him to easily slide inside to the nickel as well.

Following the OU offer, he quickly picked up offers from Kansas State and Arkansas. With his commitment, the offers may slow down, but the Sooners look to have nailed this one with an early evaluation and open line of communication being established prior to even offering.

Mukes joins DL Ethan Downs, WR Cody Jackson, and OL Cullen Montgomery in the ‘LincUp21’ class.
