BOOM News! | 2020 LB Edgerrin Cooper Commits To Oklahoma

The Sooners picked up a much-needed commitment at a position of need from 2020 Linebacker Edgerrin Cooper out of Covington, LA.

As we reported earlier in the week, Cooper took an unofficial to Norman on Wednesday and that visit proved to be enough for him to know he wanted to be a Sooner.

I asked him about his reasoning for picking OU and Cooper said, “This is the place to be. I feel like I can make the best impact here.”

While in Norman, Cooper had the chance to see the school and more importantly, he got to spend time with the staff, in particular Coach Grinch, Coach Odom, and Head Coach Lincoln Riley.

Cooper told me “All three of those guys are wonderful coaches. They really made me feel wanted and needed. It was really comfortable.”

As for his thoughts on Norman, he said “I feel a really good vibe up there. I really like the city and the campus.”

Edgerrin Cooper becomes the 12th commit in the ’20 Deep’ class for OU and he is the first linebacker commit for Brian Odom.

As for what OU is getting in Cooper, our guy JY had this to say:

*** Love his film.

*** Play recognition is second to none, and it makes him look and play extremely fast.

*** He’s a very long kid who is very underrated.

*** Probably because of his weight which will undoubtedly improve, this kid could be a 220 lb tackling machine.

*** This is a huge pull by Odom.
